Bryan Cranston appears to be prepared to retire from acting after more than twenty years of dazzling audiences on stage and in front of the camera. The actor thinks it might be time to hang up his acting boots in order to spend more time with his wife.

In a recent interview with British GQ, actor Bryan Cranston disclosed that 2026 might be the last year of his professional performing career, informing viewers that they will only be able to enjoy his ability in the upcoming three films.

“I want to change the paradigm once again,” Cranston said. “For the last 24 years, Robin has led her life holding onto my tail. She’s been the plus one, she’s been the wife of a celebrity. She’s had to pivot and adjust her life based on mine. She has tremendous benefits from it, but we’re uneven. I want to level that out. She deserves it.”

Cranston’s statement coincides with his upcoming role in Wes Anderson‘s most recent movie, Asteroid City. According to co-star Frankie Muniz, before this, Cranston was reportedly working on a revival of his first breakout hit Fox sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. Cranston refuted Muniz’s allegations that he was involved in the creative process despite the actor confirming discussions of a revival with series creator Linwood Boomer.
