The highly anticipated Marvel Studios film Deadpool & Wolverine is all set to arrive in theaters. Recently, fans have been treated to the film’s trailer, featuring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as Deadpool and Wolverine, respectively. It’s indeed a delightful moment for the fans to witness the pair finally on screen, as it took seven years and a lot of persuasion to convince Jackman to return as Wolverine.

All the hustle put behind Deadpool & Wolverine has finally come to fruition

It’s finally the time when fans get to see two marquee characters, Deadpool and Wolverine, coming together in the recently released trailer. Ahead of Deadpool & Wolverine’s new trailer, Reynolds shared the post-credits scene from the 2018 sequel film Deadpool 2. The scene showed Deadpool traveling through time to “clean up the timelines.” It even included some rectifications required to be made in Reynolds’ filmography. Among them was X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), which starred Jackman and featured Reynolds as Wade Wilson.

Many people didn’t like the movie because of a scene where Wade Wilson’s mouth was sewn shut. Those who have read the Marvel comic books were especially upset because Wade is famous for being a talkative character. Deadpool told Logan in the Deadpool 2 post-credits scene, “Eventually, you’re going to hang up the claws, and it’s going to make a lot of people very sad. But one day, your old pal Wade is going to ask you to get back in the saddle again. And when he does, say yes.

What’s special about the upcoming Marvel film is that people will get to witness Jackman as Wolverine for the first time since his last appearance as Wolverine in 2017’s Logan, following which he took retirement from the role. However, to every fan’s delight, the Australian actor eventually decided to return.

The upcoming superhero film is intended to be the 34th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and a sequel to Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018). The film is directed by Shawn Levy from a screenplay he wrote with Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells.  Apart from Reynolds and Jackman, the film also features  Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Matthew Macfadyen.

The synopsis of the third installment of the Deadpool series reads: “Wolverine is recovering from his injuries when he crosses paths with the loudmouth, Deadpool. They team up to defeat a common enemy.

Deadpool & Wolverine is scheduled to be released on July 26, 2024, as part of Phase Five of the MCU.
