The realm of imagination is endless, endless to the extent that we can imagine the unimaginable. Actor Matt Smith, who is soon going to revive his beloved character of Daemon Targar in the upcoming HBO epic, House of Dragon season 2, unleashed his creative thoughts as he talked about the combat between his character of Dameon and another popular GOT character, Jon Snow.
Recently, on his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the actor talked about who would be victorious if House of the Dragon‘s Daemon Targaryen went up against Game of Thrones‘ Jon Snow.
Daemon Targaryen vs. Jon Snow
Though both the characters, Daemon Targaryen and Jon Snow, are from two different series, they do share some significant similarities when we dive deep into their family tree. While Jon Snow’s character, portrayed by Kit Harington, appeared in “Game of Thrones,” the character of Daemon Targaryen, played by Matt Smith, was a part of GOT’s prequel series, “House of Dragon.” Despite belonging to different eras, their bloodline connects them, as Daemon is the ancestor of Jon Snow, who was later revealed to be Aegon Targaryen, the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen.
Yes, it’s true that they are never going to meet. But Smith has imagined something that even the novelist George R.R. Martin couldn’t imagine. When the host of the show, Jimmy Fallon, posed a hypothetical question before Smith, saying, If ever Jon Snow and Daemon Targaryen had a face-off, who would win in a fight?
Upon hearing the question, Smith scoffed and replied, “Who would win in a fight between Jon Snow and Daemon? Mate, I’ve got a dragon.”
As the audience cheered and applauded Matt Smith’s witty reply, he further added to his statement that he has a lot of respect for Jon Snow. But… he said, “Hey, Jon Snow is a bad boy. Don’t get me wrong. Kit Harington- lovely man, lovely guy. I have a lot of respect. But don’t get it twisted. I would fuck those brothers up, mate. Of course, I’ve got a dragon.”
Matt Smith isn’t wrong when he says that his character has an enormous dragon, adding significantly to his power. Smith, indeed, has a fondness for dragons and has never missed a chance to express that. Previously, when the cast of House of Dragon was asked what would be one thing that they would like to bring to the real world from the fictional world of the series, Matt Smith responded by saying that he would like to bring the dragons to the world if that’s possible.
The House of the Dragon Season 2 is set to premiere on June 16, 2024.
