John Wick Considered Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill 3: John Wick, played by Keanu Reeves, is desperate to escape the High Table’s control in John Wick Final: Chapter 4, but the High Table’s agent, the Marquis de Gramont (Bill Skarsgard), is committed to John’s axing. This causes John’s old friend Caine (Donnie Yen) to be forced into killing him, and the two are then set up to face off in a High Table duel.
Despite the fact that John ultimately loses to Caine in their duel, he still manages to shoot the Marquis de Gramont in the head. John later makes up with Caine and is buried next to his late wife Helen. Akira (Rina Sawayama), who is getting ready to assault Caine for killing her father Shimazu Koji (Hiroyuki Sanada) earlier in the movie, means that Caine’s narrative is still far from over. Another unexpected similarity between John Wick: Chapter 4’s conclusion and Quentin Tarantino’s intended narrative for Kill Bill: Vol. 3 is how Akira’s vendetta with Caine is set up.
Caine’s Revenge Offer to Akira Is Similar To Kill Bill. Vol 1
Caine kills Shimazu in a sword fight during John Wick: Chapter 4’s combat at the Osaka Continental, although he does so grudgingly in order to reach John, putting his daughter’s life in danger if he fails and even pleading with Shimazu to back off. Caine acknowledges the angry wrath inside Akira as he leaves and promises her, “I’ll be waiting,” setting up their showdown in the film’s end credits scene. When The Bride (Uma Thurman) confronts Vernita Green (Vivica A. Fox) for her part in killing her fiancรฉ and leaving her in a five-year coma, the first chapter of Kill Bill sets up its own ongoing revenge story.
The Bride discovers Vernita’s daughter Nikki (Ambrosia Kelley) saw her mother’s murder after killing Vernita during an attempt by her old nemesis to launch a sneak attack. The Bride reassures Nikki that her mother “had it coming,” but she also recognizes her emotions of retaliation, concluding by saying, “When you grow up, if you still feel raw about it, I’ll be waiting.” John Wick: Chapter 4 may have achieved another goal in addition to putting up a revenge tale that is quite similar to John Wick.
Why Could A John Wick Spin-Off Be The Closest Thing To Kill Bill Vol. 3?
Tarantino has always stated that he plans to stop directing after his tenth feature, and he is currently one film away from that milestone. Tarantino has said that Kill Bill: Vol. 3 would feature an adult Nikki seeking retribution against The Bride (later revealed to be Beatrix Kiddo in Kill Bill: Vol. 2), but he has also hinted that it may or may not happen. The likelihood of Tarantino making Kill Bill: Vol. 3 appears to be dwindling as he approaches his aim of retiring, but a John Wick spin-off might potentially take its place.
Caine is completely prepared for Akira to exact retribution on him, and John Wick: Chapter 4’s end-credits scene has already started that narrative. Given that Caine and Akira are two of John Wick: Chapter 4’s standout characters and that Akira is rightfully furious about her father’s passing while Caine merely murdered him under duress, their meeting may possibly prove to be quite exciting. If Kill Bill: Vol. 3 doesn’t materialize, such a revenge story would also fill the gap left by The Bride and Nikki’s conflict.
