The upcoming Batman animated series will mark the last reunion of Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy

The upcoming animated series, “Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths,” will not only be the final chapter of the film series, but it will also mark the end of an era of Kevin Conroy’s iconic voice emanating from underneath Batman’s cowl. He brought the animated Batman to life by lending his quintessential voice to the DC character. He played Batman for many years since debuting in Batman: The Animated Series way back in 1992.

While it’s indeed exciting news for every fan out there that Connroy will return alongside Mark Hamill, it’s also emotional news as it will be the last time fans will get to hear these legends voicing their favorite characters.

Conroy passed away on November 10, 2022, at the age of 66, following a battle with cancer. He indeed formed a great bond with his co-star Hamill, since they performed together for many times over the years. When Conroy passed away, Hamill made his decision to retire from his role as Joker as well. He said in a statement, “They would call and say, ‘They want you to do the Joker,’ and my only question was, ‘Is Kevin Batman?’ If they said yes, I would say, ‘I’m in.’ We were like partners. We were like Laurel and Hardy. Without Kevin there, there doesn’t seem to be a Batman for me.”

Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part 3 will follow on from Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Two, which has been called “the beginning of the end to the Tomorrowverse story arc.”

Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part 2 is scheduled to be released digitally and on 4K UHD and Blu-ray on April 23, 2024.
