Madison Prewett, the former Bachelor star turned mom and author, just got real about a hidden struggle from her teen years. In a recent podcast, she shared how shame kept her trapped until she found freedom through faith and community.
Madison Prewett’s Secret Sexual Sin Exposed
Madison Prewett opened up on the Candace Cameron Bure Podcast about her “secret sexual sin” that started around age 13 or 14. Introduced to pornography by a friend, it led to a battle with porn addiction and masturbation that she kept hidden while publicly claiming to be saving herself for marriage.
She described living a double life: “On the outside it looked like everything was fine, but behind closed doors I was living this double life of living in constant secret sin, secret sexual sin, and not confessing it to anybody.” This secrecy fueled a cycle of more shame and sin through middle and high school, making her feel enslaved despite her love for Jesus.
Prewett emphasized she remained a virgin—no partner involved—but the internal struggles robbed her of confidence and left her questioning her worth.
Madison Prewett on Breaking Free from Secret Sexual Sin
The turning point came in college when Madison Prewett finally confessed, feeling immediate relief and lightness. She said sharing removes the power of shame: “What you’ll notice is that most of the time when you share that secret sin… you feel this relief and you feel this freedom.”
By the grace of God and godly community, she’s been free from porn and masturbation for about 10 years now. Prewett first detailed this in June 2025 on the Stay True podcast, and reiterated it in February 2026, encouraging others to confess rather than hide.
No recent relapses or new updates as of early 2026—she’s focused on family life with husband Grant Troutt (a pastor they married in 2022) and daughter Hosanna, born January 2025.
Why Prewett Shared Her Story
Prewett wants to help others stuck in similar cycles, stressing that fear of judgment keeps people trapped. Her book, The Love Everybody Wants, and pre-marriage purity pledge with accountability buddies show her ongoing commitment to transparency and faith-based purity.
She’s clear: Confession to trusted friends breaks the enemy’s hold, turning shame into strength.
