MUBI in April 2024: Over the past few months, the OTT platform MUBI has continued to captivate its audience with a curated selection of independent, classic, and international films. Its appeal lies in offering a diverse range of movies often unavailable on mainstream platforms. Focusing on quality, MUBI creates a sense of exclusivity for subscribers, drawing them to unique titles.
In April 2024, MUBI will release two major titles: “How to Have Sex” and “High & Low: John Galliano.”
While “High & Low: John Galliano” explores the life of fashion designer John Galliano, “How To Have Sex” follows the journey of three British teenage girls on a holiday.
MUBI also features Andrew Haigh’s films “Weekend” (2011) and “45 Years” (2015) in an honorary double bill, allowing viewers to explore the director’s work. Another category, “Bong Hits,” showcases Bong Joon Ho’s earlier works “The Host” and “Barking Dogs Never Bite,” known for blending social commentary with dark humor and human drama.
In the “Brief Encounters” category, Faris Alrjoob’s “The Red Sea Makes Me Wanna Cry” poignantly portrays the refugee experience and highlights the resilience of those enduring displacement. Last but not least, in the “Madcap Adventure: Comedies by Quentin Dupieux” category, we have the 2018 French surreal black comedy “Keep an Eye Out,” which follows Louis Fugain, who discovers a dead man in a pool of blood and undergoes a grueling interrogation by Commissioner Buron. Additionally, MUBI will also screen his latest film, “Yannick.”
