Recently, one more piece of information regarding the Oscars has been revealed.
The Academy is bringing back the widely acclaimed format that it first and last tried at the Oscars ceremony held 15 years ago.
The Academy re-introduces a popular format in the upcoming event
Every time the Oscars ceremony is announced, hype is created all around. It has been decades since the event has been taking place to honor the talent of deserving contenders from the cinematic industry. Among many Oscars ceremony took place to date, the 2009 Academy Awards event is hailed as an all-time favorite for many who watched it.
The reason was how the four acting Oscars were presented: Five past winners introduced the five current nominees for each award. This idea not only thrilled everyone present at the event but also resulted in massive standing ovations from the audience at the Dolby. Reminiscing the past event, the gesture of getting awards from past winners moved many celebs awarded that night.

The minds behind this brilliant idea were producers Laurence Mark and Bill Condon. It has now been 15 years since that incredible idea was implemented. Now, after many requests from Oscars lovers, the Academy has decided to bring back this Field of Dreams-like format. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Academy has confirmed that come March 10, they will get their wish. (In cutaway shots, Anne Hathaway was in tears).
It has been an Academy ritual that they never reveal who will be presenting which awards ahead of the big night. But this time, since the Academy has decided to repeat its decade-old format of last year’s four acting winners presenting the award, it’s easy to assume who is going to present the Awards to the current nominees. Previous year’s Oscar winners, Brendan Fraser, Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Jamie Lee Curtis will be among the five presenters for their respective categories.
The list of other award presenters for this year includes past best actor winners Nicolas Cage, Matthew McConaughey, and Al Pacino; past best actress winner Jessica Lange; past best-supporting actor winners Mahershala Ali and Sam Rockwell; and past best supporting actress winner Lupita Nyong’o.
