Later, Su Yeon gets near the police station and stops to think about what to do while seeing the pendant Gyeong-Ho had given to Seon Hui. We see a flashback to when Gyeong-Ho is killed, and Su Yeon visits Gyeong-Ho.
Once inside, after they talk, Su Yeon brings out the pendant and shows it to Gyeong-Ho. He tells him that Seon Hui does not have feelings for Gyeong-Ho and that Seon Hui is the one who gave the gift to Su Yeon. However, Gyeong-Ho knows Seon Hui well and does not believe what Su Yeon says and asks for the pendant. Upset by the situation, Su Yeon refuses to return the pendant, and Gyeong-Ho and her squabble and fall. When Su Yeon falls, her wig comes off. Now, she is terrified and begs Gyeong-Ho not to look.

As Su Yeon gets up and fixes her hair, she sees a knife and decides to kill herself. However, Gyeong-Ho tries to stop her. Seon Hui enters the house at this point, taking them both by surprise. In the present, Su Yeon decides not to speak to the police yet and walks away. But a black car follows her. When the vehicle stops and the person inside talks to Su Yeon, she gets inside the car.

At present, it’s late at night, and Su Yeon wakes up in the car, which is parked in an isolated place. When Su Yeon opens her eyes, someone hits her head with a hammer. The person gets out of the car and looks in the trunk. Suddenly, Su Yeon wakes up, sneakily exits the vehicle, and runs away. Meanwhile, Seon Hui tries to call Su Yeon. However, her phone is switched off. Subsequently, Seon Hui starts thinking about all the good times she had with Gyeong-Ho, which makes her weep.
Do the detectives suspect Seon Hui and Su Yeon?
The next day, Seon Hui joins Hyeon-woo at Gyeong-Ho’s funeral, and Seon Hui feels weak. Soon, Jin Hyeok arrives at the funeral and drives Seon Hui home. As they come home, detectives Shin Dong Ho and Lee Seong U are waiting. Seeing the detectives, Jin Hyeok talks to them, who asks to speak to Seon Hui about the fire in Gyeong-Ho’s house. As Seon Hui waits in the car, she finds the pendant Gyeong-Ho had given her, which Su Yeon had taken. She starts to worry about her father’s involvement in the whole case.
Still afraid, Seon Hui tries to compose herself and talk to the detectives, who also ask her about Su Yeon. Seon Hui tells them that she has not met Su Yeon and that she knows nothing about the fire. Once the detectives leave, Jin Hyeok is proud of Seon Hui as she was wise not to mention Su Yeon’s visit the previous day. Outside, Dong Ho realizes that Seon Hui is hiding something and hence stops asking any more questions as it will lead to a dead end.
Is Seon Hui’s Family Behind the Mysterious Disappearance of Su Yeon?

At the police station, the autopsy report on Gyeong-Ho reveals that he had died of stab wounds. Hence, further investigation is needed. Now, Seon Hui is home but realizes that Su Yeon has been missing since she left Seon Hui’s house.
As Seon Hui ponders the implications, Hyeon Min startles Seon Hui and tells her that he is Jin Hyeok’s relative and has only seen Seon Hui when she was a child. They converse, and Hyeon Min warns Seon Hui to be careful around her parents before leaving. In the next shot, we see Jin Hyeok looking through a window inside the house. Perfect Family Episode 4 Recap:
The episode picks off from where it left off with Jin Hyeok’s relative, Hyeon Min, asking Seon Hui to be careful with her parents. When Seon Hui enters the house, Eun Ju waits for her and urges Seon Hui if she has run into Hyeon Min. Not revealing everything, Seon Hui only confirms that Hyeon Min is their family. That night, Seon Hui sneaks out of her room and tries to enter a room upstairs as she does not know what is inside. In a flashback, we see that when Seon Hui was a child, Jin Hyeok warned her never to enter that room. However, Seon Hui hears a noise and rushes back to find her parents looking worriedly at her.
At school, Hyeon-U senses that Seon Hui is behaving weirdly. He asks if she is hiding something, but Seon Hui says nothing is wrong. Soon after that, Seon Hui asks Hyeon-U to go to her house with her. They get a pass from their teacher to leave early and hurry to Seon Hui’s house. Seon Hui starts looking for keys to the room upstairs, and Eun Ju calls. So Seon Hui is honest about being home but lies, saying she is unwell and is home early.
Now, Seon Hui has 30 minutes to find the key. When she can’t find it, she takes Hyeon-U’s help to climb the ladder and enter through the windows. Unfortunately, Jin Hyeok arrives home early. Hyeon-U tries to keep him engaged until Seon Hui can get inside. In an attempt to do that, Hyeon-U starts dancing randomly, shocking Jin Hyeok. Hyeon-U stops dancing only after seeing Seon Hui inside the house.
What does Seon Hui find in the room?
Inside the room, Seon Hui sees that the whole room looks like it is lived in. There is a bed, telescope, toys, and more. Now, Eun Ju and Jin Hyeok come home and don’t hear Seon Hui. Hence, Jin Hyeok rushes upstairs to unlock the door. At that moment, Seon Hui emerges from the washroom and lies to her mother, saying she was in the shower. After coming to her room, Seon Hui opens her robe and holds out a picture that Seon Hui took from the other room.
Later, Seon Hui talks to Eun Ju and asks if she is the reason their relatives don’t visit them. Hearing these words, Eun Ju gets upset, so Seon Hui apologizes and walks away. That night, Eun Ju is worried that Seon Hui knows something. Therefore, Jin Hyeok asks never to reveal the truth until the end and also starts implementing their plans.
What happens when Seon Hui visits her grandmother’s house?
The next day, after school, Seon Hui hurries out even though Hyeon-U wants to talk. Since Seon Hui said she needed to stop by somewhere, Hyeon- U follows her around. They reach a house. Once they are inside, Seon Hui tells Hyeon-U that it is her grandmother’s house. When the grandmother sees Seon Hui, she is cold towards her. But Seon Hui shows a picture of her grandmother. Jin Hyeok, Eun Ju, and another man ask her who the other man is. Seeing the image, Seon Hui’s grandmother gets furious, breaks a huge vase, and asks Seon Hui to leave.
Later, Hyeon-U makes sure Seon Hui eats and tells Seon Hui to promise that she will share her burdens and take him anywhere when she is scared. Moreover, Hyeon-U also felt that all of their lives had started falling apart once Su Yeon entered their school. Hyeon-U is carrying Seon Hui on his back and walking towards her house. Hyeon-U says that in indigenous cultures, friends are people who carry each other’s sorrows on their backs, and Seon Hui finds that interesting.
Perfect Family Episode 4 Ending Explained:
Why Is Seon Hui Hesitant to Reveal the Truth About Gyeong-Ho’s Death?
After having a hectic day, Seon Hui writes in her diary that she is comfortable sharing everything with Hyeon-U. In a flashback, we learn a little about Jin Hyeok and Eun Ju’s characteristics as they gift Seon Hui a diary when she was young and ask her to write in it daily. Once Seon Hui sleeps, they would check her diary to find out what is happening in her life. In one such incident, Seon Hui was being bullied by a classmate. The next day, the classmate ends up dead.
At present, Seon Hui leaves school early. Jin Hyeok and Eun Ju check Seon Hui’s internet searches. The searches are all about the family’s birth and death certificates, and they also check her diary and get worried. After school, Seon Hui and Hyeon-U take a walk. The two detectives, Dong Ho and Seong- U keep an eye on Seon Hui even though their superiors have closed the case as an accident.
When Seon Hui and Hyeon-U walk towards a park, the detectives want to follow, but their superior stops them. In the park, Seon Hui reveals the truth about Gyeong-Ho’s death. Hyeon-U insists on telling the police, but Seon Hui stops him. Furthermore, Hyeon-U thinks Su Yeon has set the house on fire, so Seon Hui clarifies that it wasn’t Su Yeon, and she can’t say anything more now. Before leaving, Seon Hui tells Hyeon-U that if he reports it to the police, Seon Hui cannot meet Hyeon-U ever again.
What Are Jin Hyeok and Eun Ju Hiding About the Man in the Photo and Seon Hui’s Past?
The next day at school, Seon Hui receives a message from an unknown number saying it is Su Yeon and asks Seon Hui to come to the entrance as she is scared. Seeing the message, Seon Hui runs outside but does not find anyone. In the epilogue, we see Seon Hui’s grandmother telling the housekeeper that her son used to climb trees and that no matter how many times he fell, he would get up again until one day, he fell and started bleeding. Unfortunately, Seon Hui’s grandmother was so busy building her business that she didn’t realize that her son was being bullied, and she can never forget that day.
From the epilogue, the man in the picture seems to be Jin Hyeok’s brother, who probably died soon after Seon Hui was adopted, especially because Seon Hui’s grandmother calls Seon Hui unlucky, and the family never visits. It is also unclear why Jin Hyeok and Eun Ju are so secretive about the man in the photo. It could probably be because Seon Hui has something to do with the man’s death.
Towards the end, Seon Hui looks shocked. It could either be Su Yeon in front of her or something that Jin Hyeok and Eun Ju have done, considering Jin Hyeok mentions that they need to advance their plans as soon as Seon Hui gets suspicious of them. In the last episode, we start to see the true nature of Jin Hyeok and Eun Ju, and there is much more to unravel.
