She faces a serious lawsuit and possible jail time. But with her uncle Vanya’s help, she’s offered a second chance.
Ivan works for the Russian intelligence agency, SVR, and he wants Dominikato to help him infiltrate a Russian criminal’s inner circle to gather information. Dominika isn’t entirely sure if it’s the right call. Thanks to her beauty and confidence, Dominika quickly manages to get close to Dimitry and ends up in his bedroom. However, when Dimitry tries to assault her, Sergei, an SVR operative assassin, assassinates him. Sergei is under strict orders to leave no witnesses. But the agency ultimately agreed to let Dominika live on one condition: that she must join the SVR.

Who is Nate Nash, & Why is Dominika sent to Budapest?
Nate is a CIA agent stationed in Russia, working to gather intel from his Russian contact, Marbel. During one of their meetings, Nate spots some regular patrol cops and mistakenly thinks they’re after him. Fearing for both his and Marbel’s safety, he panics and turns himself in at the American Embassy. To get to the bottom of it, the Russian intelligence agency assigns Ivan to investigate and asks him to find out who Nate was meeting in the park and what information they were exchanging. Meanwhile, Nate faces consequences back home. The agency suspends him indefinitely for blowing his cover. But Nate argues that it’s the wrong call, as his contact won’t cooperate with anyone else, and everything could fall apart without him.
Eventually, Nate Nash is sent to Budapest to reconnect with the Russian mole. When Russian intelligence finds out, they plan to kidnap him and extract information by any means necessary and avoid creating an international incident. Sadly, Marta is assassinated, and fearing that she might be next, Dominika agrees to help Nate on one condition: that he must relocate her and her mother to America with completely new identities. To prove she’s worth the risk, Dominika gives Nate and his team valuable intel about a woman named Boucher, a chief of staff to a U.S. senator. She’s been selling secrets to the Russians for a hefty sum of $250,000. However, when Boucher finds out she’s about to be arrested, she panics and walks straight into oncoming traffic, dying instantly.
Meanwhile, the Russians, who have been keeping tabs on Dominika, begin to suspect she’s compromised. They capture her and take her to a safe house. They try to torture the truth out of her, but like before, Dominika is spared. As for Volontov, he is executed. Once again, Dominika is sent back to Budapest to finish what she started.

Being smart, Dominik realizes her days are numbered if she doesn’t play her cards right. She knows one wrong move could cost her her life. Therefore, she decides to frame her own uncle. After being attacked by a Russian agent while trying to protect Nate, Dominika ends up in the hospital. There, she is visited by Korchnoi, who reveals that he’s actually Marble, the mole the Russians have been trying to track down.
But why would Korchnoi, a man who presents himself as a loyal patriot, be passing secrets to the Americans? He tells Dominik that during his time stationed in the U.S., his wife fell seriously ill. Her life could have been saved. But the Russian Embassy refused to let an American doctor treat her. That moment changed everything for him. The loss filled him with rage and resentment toward the bureaucrats who constantly preach about making Russia great. However, in reality, they are corrupt and eat the country from the inside.

Before leaving, Korchnoi advises Dominika to tell the SVR that he’s the mole. Doing so would paint her as a true patriot and might even put her in line to succeed him. She uses his fingerprints from a vodka glass and a receipt showing a $250,000 deposit in a Vienna bank account in Ivan’s name to make her story more convincing.
As a result, all the blame, including the leak and even the death of the American defector, Boucher, falls squarely on Ivan’s shoulders. During a planned exchange, Dominika is handed back to the Russians while Ivan is turned over to the Americans. But just as the handover happens, Ivan is taken out by a sniper. By doing this, Korchnoi’s identity as the real mole stays protected. The film ends with Dominika receiving a call, prompting her to attend a ballet performance at the Bolshoi Theatre.
