Nimona Soundtrack: Every Song Featured in the Netflix Movie – A very silently dropped film on Netflix, “Nimona” is said to be one of the best releases this year.  Based on the 2015 graphic novel of the same name, ‘Nimona’ tells the story of a knight framed for a crime he didn’t commit. The film explores the theme of good versus evil in fresh and unexpected ways. The chemistry between the main characters, Ballister Boldheart and Nimona, is one of the highlights of the film.

“Nimona” delves into what it means for good to fight evil, challenging the stereotypical notions of good and evil.  The film takes the heroic character of Ballister Boldheart on a journey of self-discovery.  The relationship between Ballister Boldheart and Nimona is portrayed with depth and realism. Moreover, the movie teaches important lessons without being preachy, making it a heartwarming tale.

In a realm that blends medieval elements with futuristic technology, the Institute for Elite Knights safeguards the citizens. The kingdom’s history is steeped in the legend of Gloreth, a heroic figure who defeated a formidable creature and enclosed the realm with a protective wall. Ballister Boldheart and his lover Ambrosius Goldenloin are on the verge of being knighted, but their lives take a dramatic turn when Queen Valerin is assassinated during the ceremony.

Framed for the crime, Ballister teams up with Nimona, a shape-shifting teenager, to uncover the truth and bring the real culprit, the Director of the Institute, to justice. Their journey unveils shocking revelations about Nimona’s past and tests the strength of their friendship

 The voice cast, which includes Riz Ahmed, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Eugene Lee Yang, among others, delivers great performances.  The chemistry between the characters is brought to life through the voice acting.  Frances Conroy, Lorraine Toussaint, Beck Bennett, Indya Moore, RuPaul Charles, Julio Torres, and Sarah Sherman also contribute to the film’s enjoyment. The strong voice cast adds depth to the characters and enhances the overall experience.

For an animated film, music is one of the most important factors determining how the story is conveyed and received. And the music of Nimona does not disappoint.  In May 2023, it was announced that Christophe Beck composed the film’s music. The original song “T-Rex,” performed by American singer and rapper K. Flay, was included in the film’s soundtrack and released on June 23, coinciding with the film’s limited release. The score album for the film was released on June 30 by Netflix Music.
