Some bonds are sustained just by remembering some dates and some people. Nothing much is required. Tom Cruise is an A-lister from the Hollywood industry who is often associated with the action genre thanks to his action-packed performances throughout his career. But apart from being an incredible action superstar, he is also a very kind human with a very sharp memory. Well, if remembering birthdays is taken as having a good memory, Cruise is the person who has that sort of memory. His “War of the Worlds” co-star Dakota Fanning has shared how Cruise hasn’t forgotten her birthday even once ever since meeting her on the set.

Dakota Fanning thanks Tom Cruise for ongoing birthday gifts

Tom Cruise met Dakota Fanning when she was just a kid while filming his 2005 film “War of the Worlds.” At the time, Cruise surprised Fanning with her first cell phone as a birthday present, and he hasn’t forgotten about her birthday since.

Dakota Fanning, 30, was recently featured in the Netflix thriller series Ripley alongside Andrew Scott. Fanning and Scott were interviewed for Harper’s Bazaar, and during the conversation, Scott was asked to guess who gave Fanning her first cell phone. Figuring that it was “going to be some Hollywood icon,” he correctly named Tom Cruise.

Confirming Scott’s assumption, Fanning shared the story of when Cruise gave her a Motorola Razr phone for her 11th birthday. The actress said, “I was so excited. I didn’t have anybody to call or text at that time. You know, I was 11, but I loved having it. I loved it. It felt so cool.”

Fanning recently celebrated her 30th birthday in February and shared that even after so many years, Cruise remembers her birthday. She said,  “Tom sends me a birthday gift every year and has since that birthday. Yeah. [At] 30, I got a birthday gift. So thoughtful. That’s really, really nice.
