The inspirational sports drama Young Woman and the Sea is set to make its streaming debut on Disney+ soon. Directed by Joachim Rønning and written by Jeff Nathanson, the film is based on Glenn Stout’s 2009 book of the same name.

Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films, the movie stars Daisy Ridley as Gertrude Ederle, the trailblazing American competitive swimmer who became the first woman to swim across the English Channel. The cast also includes Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Stephen Graham, Kim Bodnia, Christopher Eccleston, and Glenn Fleshler in supporting roles.
