The 2024 Tribeca Festival has already created hype for its reunions and retrospective screenings. The Festival brings artists and diverse audiences together to celebrate storytelling in all its forms, including film, TV, music, audio storytelling, games, and immersive. With strong roots in independent film, Tribeca is synonymous with creative expression and entertainment.

This year’s festival’s Storytellers series will feature talks with Judd Apatow, Andy Cohen, Kieran Culkin, Michael Stipe, Laverne Cox, and Kerry Washington in conversation with Nicole Avant and Jon Batiste celebrating Nat King Cole with author and music journalist Marcus J. Moore. Its Directors series will feature a conversation between director Gus Van Sant and Vito Schnabel, whom Van Sant recently directed in Feud: Capote vs. the Swans.

What can be expected from Tribeca Festival 2024?

Tribeca Festival 2024 will celebrate the anniversaries of three classic films with special screenings and conversations. These films include Mean Streets, which will commemorate its golden jubilee anniversary with screening and conversations with Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, and Nas. Another film, Footloose, will be celebrating its 40th anniversary with Kevin Bacon in conversation.  Steven Spielberg is also bringing a 50th-anniversary screening of his theatrical debut, The Sugarland Express, to Tribeca and will participate in a conversation after the screening. There will also be conversations with Apatow, Andy Cohen, Laverne Cox, Culkin, Michael Stipe, Kerry Washington, Gus Van Sant, Vito Schnabel, Jon Batiste and more.

The festival will continue to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the premiere of The Sopranos with a special screening at the Beacon Theatre. The event will also feature the documentary Wise Guy, helmed by Alex Gibney. This will also mark the reunion with the show’s creator David Chase, the executive producer, Terence Winter, and the cast of The Sopranos including Edie Falco, Michael Imperioli, Aida Turturro, Annabella Sciorra, Robert Iler, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Drea De Matteo, Steve Schirripa, Michele Chase, Kathrine Narducci, and Dominic Chianese.

Additionally, Discovery, an animated musical based on Daft Punk’s album, will be screened for the first time in North America in remastered 4K, along with North by Northwest in restored 70mm.

The 2024 Tribeca Festival is set to run from June 5-16 in New York.
