Directed by Takashi Katagiri & Kazuhiro Furuhashi, “Spy x Family Code: White” (Original title: Gekijôban Spy x Family Code: White) is a Japanese animated action-adventure film. Ichirô Ôkouchi has written the screenplay based on Tatsuya Endo’s shõnen manga series. It follows agent Loid Forger, who decides to take the next steps in his classified operation while helping his adopted daughter Anya win a cooking competition. They are joined by Loid’s wife, Yor, who has her share of secrets. The anime flick is available in Japanese and English versions with different casts of voice actors.

Takashi Katagiri’s “Spy x Family Code: White” follows a secret agency operative who decides to take care of his mission with a family getaway with his pretend-wife and their adopted daughter.
What happens in ‘Spy x Family Code: White’?
“Spy x Family Code: White” begins with Loid Forget, a member of WISE (Westalian Intelligence Services’ Eastern-focused Division) and known as ‘Agent Twilight,’ successfully completing his mission under disguise. Right after, we see Yor, a highly-skilled assassin known as ‘Thorn Princess, ’ ruthlessly killing her target. Together, Loid and Yor live as a married couple, unaware of each other’s true identities. They adopt Anya, a young orphan, as their daughter. The three live as a happy family with their dog, Bond. One day, at school, Anya learns about a dessert-making exam. The school principal judges the desserts and awards them with an exclusive prize.
While that happens, Loid gets an update on his new undercover operation from his handler, Sylvia Sherwood. She tells him to forget Operation Strix since he has not made any progress until then. So, Loid decides to salvage the operation. He learns about Anya’s cooking competition and realizes his principal’s favorite dessert is a regional dish called ‘Meremere.’ So, he decides to travel there with Anya and Yor to eat authentic Meremere and to learn its recipe. Right before their trip, Yor notices Loid speaking with a woman and assumes he is having an affair. In reality, Loid was talking with his fellow spy, Fiona Frost.
Anya’s Cooking Journey
While on the train ride to Frigis, Anya stumbles upon a key to a suitcase. With mind-reading abilities, she and Bond enter the storage room and discover the said suitcase. They open it and find a chocolate ball inside. Anya impulsively eats the chocolate. However, moments later, she realizes she is in danger. The chocolate was a part of a covert military operation to get hold of a chip. So, the suitcase owners hunt her down on the train. Luckily, Yor intervenes and protects Anya. Eventually, they enter a cozy family restaurant to have their unique Meremere. By the time the dessert arrives on their table, a group of military officers barge into the place.
Colonel Snidel demands their Meremere. However, the owner had already served their last dish to Loid’s family. So, Snidel suggests a trivia competition with Loid to win the dessert. They need to understand the specific types of sugar in the restaurant’s dishes. Loid points them out perfectly well. However, Snidel also points out their exact quantities and wins the deal. Since they lost Meremere, Loid suggests returning the next day to have it. Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn’t have all the ingredients, and they are supposed to have them two days later. So, Yor suggests getting the ingredients themselves to make the dessert.
Loid & Yor’s Marriage
Before Yor left for the trip, her co-worker told her a couple of ways she could understand that her partner was cheating. So, throughout their journey, she feels like Loid isn’t faithful to her. Anya notices their arguments and decides to patch things up between them. So, she pushes them to get on a ‘flirting’ roller coaster ride to end their differences. Her strategy works as Yor & Loid share their truth and confess their love to each other. After that, Loid realizes that they do not have only one ingredient from their list: a non-alcoholic cherry liqueur. Regardless, the family returns to their hotel room to relax and unwind. Loid goes out to find the liqueur but to no avail.
Anya hears that and decides to go out by herself to get the liqueur. Colonel Snidel’s men (the two suitcase owners from the train) find Anya and kidnap her. They take her to Snidel’s aircraft to get hold of the microfilm hidden in the chocolate. That’s why they want her to excrete it for them. Anya realizes that. So, she refuses to go to the bathroom no matter what. While that happens, Fiona reaches Loid’s hotel room to speak about their mission. But she shies away from being honest about her feelings for him. Shortly after, Loid & Yor realize that Anya has gone missing. Fiona decides to help them find her.

Do Loid & Yor save Anya from Colonel Snidel’s evil plot?
Loid gets on a plane with Yor to rescue Anya from Snidel’s capture. Simultaneously, Fiona infiltrates Snidel’s base and fights his men to get hold of his control unit. Loid evades deadly attacks from Snidel’s side and sneaks into his base with Yor. Then, Loid beats up one of Snidel’s men, puts on his uniform as a disguise, and assumes his identity. Remember how shape-shifting works in the Mission Impossible movies? Loid does the same. He beats the previous suitcase owners to meet Snidel in person. There, Snidel smells Loid’s perfume and realizes his true identity. So, Loid finds himself in the middle of an intense gunfire.
To protect himself, Loid assumes Snidel’s identity and tricks Snidel’s men into thinking he is Snidel. While Loid defeats the true Snidel, Yor annihilates Snidel’s ruthless soldier in a wild fight. She uses her inflammatory lipstick to end the soldier’s life. After that, Yor, Anya, and Loid reunite. They crash-land Snidel’s aircraft into the water to protect themselves. So, at the end of “Spy x Family Code: White,” Loid & Yor save Anya from Colonel Snidel’s evil plot. He offers the recovered microfilm to Sylvia, who will update him on his forthcoming mission. Loid returns to Yor & Anya for their new, exciting family adventures.
