He admits that his and Solomon’s journeys have been quite similar. They both had successful fathers. So, they both worked harder to prove their worth despite their obstacles. However, since Solomon failed in his deal with Han Geum-ja’s (Park Hye-jin) property in Japan, he warned Solomon not to cross him in the future. Shaken by those words, Solomon decides to meet Geum-ja at her house.
Solomon knocks on Geum-ja’s door. Despite initial hesitation, she lets him in. She asks him about what will happen to her house after his deal and why he agreed to the deal in the first place. He reveals his recent financial struggles after he lost his job at the Shiffley’s. That’s when he met Mamoru Yoshii (Louis Ozawa), who proposed a business plan. Regardless, Geum-ja reveals how she got hold of the land where she currently resides.
This land was filled with casualties during the war, so she got it for a meager price. Hearing that, Solomon comes up with a potentially risky idea to save the house from being sold.
