Big Mistakes (2026) is one of those shows that one would hit the play button, sit through all eight episodes, and then get up, realising the dedication was not worth it. Two siblings who, unfortunately, get involved with the mafia and crime while dealing with a lot on their plates, including family chaos, is a rather interesting premise. The first three episodes really jump on the wagon with an ecstasy-like energy that keeps you on a loop. It includes the toxic family drama that one sometimes looks forward to, the grinding of teeth while relating to certain nuances of the characters, and, of course, there are some really meaty quotes in it that just stick with you for a while.

However, by the fourth episode, the show descends because of overstuffing of all the cultural appropriation and metaphors that would make you draw parallels to the current cultural shift in America. That said, I was expecting better from Dan Levy; however, I do not blame him alone. Big Mistakes is a creative collaboration of two comedy geniuses – Dan Levy and Rachel Sennott. However, I feel Dan has a very millennial energy that we have already witnessed with Schitt’s Creek, and Rachel has a typical Gen-Z vibe that we have loved. However, the duo’s efforts start splintering off from each other, creating a stuffy to spiral.

The middle section of the 8-part show especially meanders along, and the ending feels predictable and unearned. The show is deliriously funny, and sometimes it keeps the momentum, and at times completely goes out of it, never picking up. It is a binge-worthy show, but it does have its downtime due to unnecessary subplots that wish to take detours before the big reveal.

In this article, I will break down the family dramedy streaming exclusively on Netflix. Please note there are major spoilers throughout, so it is best to watch ‘Big Mistakes’ before if you want to avoid any surprises.

Big Mistakes (2026) Episode 1 ‘Get your Nonna a Necklace’ Recap:

Why does Morgan steal the necklace?

The episode opens in a hospital room filled with chaos and tension. We are introduced to a family gathered around a dying grandmother, Nonna. Linda, the mother, is running for mayor and is clearly focused on controlling everything around her, even in this emotional moment. Her children are all present. Nicky (who is later revealed to be adopted) is a gay pastor who looks exhausted and overwhelmed. Morgan is her first daughter, who comes across as rebellious and sharp-tongued. Natalie, Linda’s second daughter, is the ‘perfect’ child who always tries to please her mother and stay in her good books.

Natalie has been helping Linda create content that makes her look sympathetic for her mayoral campaign. Even here, Linda is thinking about how things appear. She tells Nicky and Morgan to do something nice for Nonna before she dies, even though Nonna is no longer aware of anything happening. Linda notices everything, and this makes Natalie act like the perfect child so she can stay her mother’s favourite. Morgan, on the other hand, does not seem to care much about pleasing her, and Nicky looks like he has not had the space to live his own life.

Following Linda’s instructions, Nicky and Morgan go to a nearby shop to buy a gift for Nonna. At the shop, they meet a rude Turkish shopkeeper who immediately dislikes Morgan’s attitude. When Morgan asks to see a necklace in the display, he refuses and says it is not for sale. This leads to an argument, but Nicky steps in to calm things down. In the end, he buys two angel figurines and a card instead.

When they return to the hospital, they find out that Nonna has already passed away. Linda blames them for not being there in time, making them feel guilty. Nicky is confused, but Morgan shows the necklace (she shoplifted from the shop) as a gift for Nonna. This makes Linda happy, while Natalie feels jealous of losing her chance to impress her mother. Linda then asks Nicky to put the necklace on Nonna and say a prayer.

Why does Yusuf force Nicky and Morgan into the truck?

At the same time, we learn more about Nicky’s personal life. He has a boyfriend whom he met when the man came to fix his roof. However, his church does not allow him to be in a same-sex relationship. Nicky is waiting for his mother’s campaign to end so he can leave and live freely with his boyfriend. Morgan’s life is also complicated. She is a primary school teacher and has a boyfriend named Max, who wants to propose to her but has no sense of timing or situation.

Big Mistakes (2026)

On the night of Nonna’s death, Nicky gets a visit from the same shopkeeper, Yusuf. Yusuf threatens him and demands the return of the stolen necklace. Nicky gets scared and rushes to his mother’s house to talk to Morgan. He explains everything to her, but Morgan is already irritated and goes to confront Yusuf. The situation quickly turns dangerous when Yusuf pulls out a gun. Both Nicky and Morgan panic, and Nicky decides he must get the necklace back before the funeral.

The next day, Nicky tries to remove the necklace from Nonna’s body, but he keeps getting interrupted. His anxiety grows when Linda insists that the body be taken for the funeral. At the burial ground, Nicky begins to give a speech, but becomes nervous when he spots Yusuf watching him. Morgan also notices Yusuf and starts to panic quietly.

After the burial, Yusuf approaches the family. Nicky lies and says Yusuf is Morgan’s friend. Soon after, Yusuf corners Nicky and Morgan and demands the necklace again. When they say they do not have it, he becomes angry and forces them toward his truck. He opens the back and orders them to get inside. Afraid of what he might do, they finally obey and climb into the truck, thus ending the episode.

Big Mistakes (2026) Episode 2 ‘I Will do ANYTHING to Survive’ Recap:

Why does Yusuf need the necklace back?

The episode continues from the moment Yusuf forces Nicky and Morgan into his truck. He drives them to a quiet and isolated place. Inside the truck, the two siblings start arguing with each other. Morgan blames Nicky for never showing up for her, while Nicky is shocked that Morgan cannot focus on finding a way out of the situation. Their constant fighting irritates Yusuf. It becomes clear that the necklace is not just any item, but something very important that belongs to someone powerful, possibly the person Yusuf works for. He even takes a phone call where he speaks politely and says that he is handling the situation well.

When Yusuf stops the truck and steps out, Nicky tries to run away, assuming Morgan will follow him. However, Morgan shouts at him, pointing out that Yusuf already knows all his addresses, so running will not help. Yusuf gets angry and demands that they bring back the necklace. The siblings finally admit that the necklace is on their dead grandmother, Nonna, who was just buried. This makes Yusuf lose his temper. He explains that the necklace was placed on display in the shop as part of a smuggling setup, as no one would suspect something kept in a cheap display area. He gives them a strict warning to get the necklace back within 24 hours or their lives will be in danger. After that, he leaves them alone in that deserted place.

Why does Morgan plan to exhume Nonna?

Back at Linda’s house, preparations are going on for Nonna’s wake. Linda is more focused on making the event look perfect rather than grieving. She wants it to be the best wake anyone has seen. Even after her mother’s death, she is trying hard to appear like the perfect daughter. She gets upset with Natalie for not doing enough, showing how she continues the same pattern of pressure and control in her own family. When Nicky and Morgan return looking injured and messy, Linda is shocked. Morgan lies and says they were attacked by a mob and that Nicky was beaten while asking for help.

Linda reacts dramatically but quickly tells them to clean up because people from social media are there to cover the wake for her campaign. Morgan makes an excuse about having a migraine and tries to leave. Max stops her and wants to go with her, but she lies and says she wants to be alone. In reality, she plans to go to the graveyard to dig up Nonna’s grave and take back the necklace. Nicky strongly disagrees with this idea because of his conscience.

What happens at the graveyard?

Max senses something is wrong and questions Morgan about the distance between them. He even accuses her of having an affair. To end the conversation quickly, Morgan lies and says she is having an affair. This upsets Max, and he leaves, taking back the ring he used to propose to her. Morgan then goes to a hardware store and steals shovels. At the same time, Nicky is very disturbed. He talks to his father, who is in the police force, and learns that Linda wants to reopen a case, believing Nicky was attacked because of his sexual orientation.

Nicky then talks to his boyfriend Tareq, who is at the wake. Nicky suggests that they should quit their jobs and go on a six-month cruise. Tareq is concerned and feels Nicky is not thinking clearly, but Nicky avoids the discussion. Later, Nicky lies to his mother that he lost a gold cufflink given by his church and thinks it might be in Nonna’s casket. Linda and Natalie react strongly, thinking he wants to dig up the grave. Nicky quickly changes the topic and tells Linda to relax now that Nonna is no longer there to judge them. This calms her, and Nicky uses the chance to leave.

At the graveyard, Morgan convinces the guard to let her in after visiting hours by making up a story. The guard gives her the keys and asks her to lock up later. Morgan starts digging the grave. When Nicky arrives and joins her, he realises that Morgan has been digging the wrong grave for two hours. It turns out she was digging the one next to Nonna’s. Now they have to fix the mistake before sunrise, making their situation even more stressful.

Big Mistakes (2026) Episode 3 ‘Show the Money’ Recap:

Are Nicky and Morgan able to retrieve the necklace?

The episode begins with Nicky and Morgan looking completely exhausted after digging up a grave. Soon after, Yusuf comes to meet them and takes them along in his truck. He drives them to meet his boss, Ivan, who has been waiting for the necklace to be safely returned. The siblings are nervous as they arrive at Ivan’s large mansion. Ivan, however, reacts unexpectedly. He seems impressed by them. He talks about how unusual it is for a pastor and a school teacher to work together and dig up their own grandmother’s grave just to retrieve a necklace. He finds their actions bold and even offers them drinks. He then gives them a burner flip phone so he can stay in touch with them. It becomes clear that this is not something they can walk away from easily, and they are now stuck in this situation.

Is everything good between Max and Morgan?

After this, we see Nicky at his church giving a sermon. His words sound strange and heavy, and the people listening to him look confused. It feels like he is struggling internally and is not in control of his thoughts. His situation is clearly affecting him, as he is now doing things that go against everything he has always believed and preached as a pastor. At Linda’s house, things are tense as well. Linda is feeling nervous about her mayoral campaign. She wakes Morgan up to start the day, but their morning is interrupted when Max arrives with his mother. They want to fix the issues between Max and Morgan.

Big Mistakes (2026)

Max’s mother is an important social figure in the town, so Linda feels it is necessary to keep her happy. Morgan, however, feels that adults should be able to talk without parents getting involved. Max uses his mother’s presence to his advantage and starts blaming Morgan for cheating on him. In reality, he has also cheated, but he still expects an apology from her. Morgan feels overwhelmed and does not defend herself. During this interaction, Linda learns that Max’s mother, Annette, is supporting another mayoral candidate named Tom Donaldson. Annette acts polite and pretends to support Linda as well, even though her real loyalty is elsewhere.

What does Ivan want from Nicky and Morgan?

Meanwhile, Nicky goes with Tareq to a suit rental shop. Nicky is clearly distracted and not thinking straight, but being with Tareq gives him some comfort. Tareq is open about his identity, but Nicky struggles with being a closeted gay pastor, which makes his life harder. While they are there, Nicky gets a call, and soon he and Morgan are again with Yusuf in his truck. Yusuf is clearly irritated with them. He gives them an envelope full of cash and says that Ivan wants them to do a job. They are confused but agree because they are afraid of what might happen if they refuse. They meet a man, thinking it is part of a drug deal, but it turns out to be a misunderstanding. The man is actually a rental broker. Still, they hand over the cash and take the keys to a flat, believing that this was the task Ivan wanted them to complete.

Why does Natalie get upset with Linda?

Later, Nicky wants to return the flip phone because he does not want to stay involved, but Morgan is unsure about what to do next. Yusuf warns them that leaving Ivan’s network could be dangerous. The siblings argue again, with Morgan saying that Nicky’s strict religious life has made him too tight and serious, while Nicky feels Morgan needs more discipline. Morgan admits she already knows that but feels unable to change. At the same time, Linda and Natalie visit their hardware store, where they have been planning campaign work. Linda begins to doubt herself and thinks about dropping out because Tom seems more powerful. Natalie gets upset because she has worked hard for the campaign and did not expect her mother to feel threatened. Linda reacts angrily and criticises Natalie’s way of thinking.

Later, Linda goes to officially register herself as a mayoral candidate. When she meets Tom, she feels his attitude is very typical and decides she will not let him discourage her. We also see Morgan and Max reconcile as they visit Linda at the venue to support her, which takes Natalie by surprise. By the end of the day, Nicky returns home feeling worn out. When Tareq arrives, Nicky hides the flip phone in a drawer. The episode ends with the two of them making out.

Big Mistakes (2026) Episode 4 ‘Weakness Always Exposes Itself’ Recap:

The episode shows Morgan slowly getting better at handling the tasks that Ivan keeps giving her and Nicky. This time, the siblings are asked to pick up one of Ivan’s trusted henchmen from jail after his release. At the same time, Nicky’s personal life is also moving forward. Tareq has started staying over at his place more often, and their relationship seems to be getting stronger with time. Back at Linda’s mother’s house, Linda and Nicky are seen cleaning up the place. While going through things, Nicky learns from Linda that Nonna had a lesbian relationship after her husband passed away many years ago. During their conversation, Linda shows concern for Nicky, but not in a typical motherly way. She talks to him more like a friend and suggests that he should explore his own life and relationships more openly. Linda herself is under a lot of pressure because of her mayoral campaign. She is feeling stressed and nervous, especially since her first debate day is coming up, which could decide how strong her position will be against Tom Donaldson.

Why is Morgan so uptight about her relationship with Max?

On the other side, Morgan and Max are trying to fix their relationship. They go to a relationship counsellor, hoping things will improve. During the session, it becomes clear that both of them have their own issues and expectations. Morgan seems to want a more stable and focused life, but she is unable to achieve that because she is dealing with many emotions from recent events. She is also trying to understand Max’s behaviour, which shows several warning signs. Since they have been together for over 17 years, she feels confused and is not sure if she is overthinking things or actually seeing real problems. When it is time to pick up Andrei, who is Ivan’s trusted henchman, Morgan and Nicky go to get him. However, they soon find out that the apartment they had arranged earlier cannot accommodate him at the moment. Because of this, Nicky decides to take Andrei to Linda’s house. At the same time, Linda is already having a difficult day after her debate and is feeling very low.

What does Natalie find out about Andrei?

During dinner, Andrei listens to Linda as she talks about her problems and frustrations with the family. He tells her that Tom is not as strong as he appears and is actually scared of losing to someone like her. This makes Linda feel better, and the two of them start connecting over drinks. By the end of the night, they get close and spend the night together. Natalie, in the meantime, is very suspicious of Andrei and starts researching only to find out that he is a fraudulent criminal and wants Nicky. Meanwhile, back at Morgan’s place, Max tries to improve things between them. He makes an effort to bring back some spark into their relationship. The two of them come closer again, and Max gives Morgan the ring back, showing that he wants a fresh start and is willing to try again.

Big Mistakes (2026) Episode 5 ‘James 4:17’ Recap:

What makes Annette support Linda financially?

The episode begins with a montage showing Yusuf managing the shop where Ivan’s illegal activities quietly take place. The shop looks normal from the outside, but inside it is used for different kinds of secret dealings connected to Ivan’s business. Through this, we also learn that Ivan is not at the top of the chain. He is part of a larger system where he is treated poorly by people above him. It shows how everyone is trying to move up, and how it takes hard work, compromise, and sometimes losing self-respect to gain power. At Morgan’s place, she wakes up to a shocking situation. Ivan and Andrei are already there, and they clearly make her understand that she now has to take charge of things moving forward. They also hint that Nicky is becoming a problem and cannot be trusted. This puts Morgan in a difficult position as she now has more responsibility than before.

Meanwhile, Nicky faces problems at his church. His assistant, Rose, tells him that the congregation is unhappy with his recent sermons. People feel that he is not focused and that he needs to put in more effort. This adds to Nicky’s stress as he is already struggling with everything happening in his life. At the same time, Linda and Natalie are busy preparing for the mayoral campaign. They learn that Tom has been involved with sex workers, and this news has divided the town. Some people are shocked, while others are still supporting him. This situation gives Linda a boost, as it improves her chances in the election.

What do Morgan and Nicky find out about Ivan?

For their next task, Morgan and Nicky are asked to buy a bull from a town auction. When they reach there, Yusuf suddenly leaves them behind after learning that Ivan has put Morgan in charge instead of trusting him. During the auction, Morgan accidentally angers the person running it, which causes them to lose the chance to buy the bull. The bull is instead bought by a family connected to the church. Morgan is unable to fix the situation, so she turns to Nicky for help. Nicky then approaches the family and tries to convince them to give up the bull. When things do not work honestly, he makes up a story, which leads the family to give him the bull without taking any money. This situation makes Nicky feel even more uneasy, as he realises how complicated and messy everything is becoming.

After Tom’s scandal becomes public, Annette visits Linda and offers her financial support. She had earlier planned to support Tom, but now she believes Linda is doing things in a more honest way. Later, at a hotel, Morgan and Yusuf finally put aside their differences and talk openly. Yusuf shares his frustration about how, even after working so hard, he has not been able to achieve what he wanted in America. He feels that survival matters more than anything else. During this time, Morgan and Yusuf grow closer and end up sleeping together without Nicky knowing. The next morning, Yusuf is gone. Nicky wants to return to his church duties, but he has no choice but to go with Morgan to complete Ivan’s task. When they finally deliver the bull, they discover the truth. Ivan and Andrei are using the bulls to smuggle high-quality cocaine by hiding it inside them.

Big Mistakes (2026) Episode 6 ‘You F-ck With My Family, You F-ck With Me’ Recap:

Does Nicky come clean about his relationship with his family?

The episode begins with Morgan and Nicky being cornered by Ivan and Andrei after they learn that Yusuf is missing. Ivan is very angry and loses his temper. When the siblings try to get out of the situation, he reacts violently and even slaps Nicky. Despite this, Nicky understands that Ivan will not kill them because they are still useful to him. Instead of arguing further, Nicky offers a deal and asks Ivan to let him and Morgan leave as a favour. The next morning, things take a serious turn for Nicky. Rose, who works with him at the church, finds out that he is in a same sex relationship, which goes against the rules of the church. This forces Nicky to finally accept that he can no longer hide this part of his life. Before the situation gets out of control, he decides to tell Linda himself.

Big Mistakes (2026)

At the same time, Linda is already dealing with a lot. She is busy with her mayoral campaign and is also thinking about the money that Annette has offered to support her. Natalie is encouraging her to use that money to strengthen her campaign. Even with everything going on, Nicky chooses to speak to Linda. He tells her about his relationship with Tareq. Surprisingly, Linda is not upset at all. Instead, she is happy for him. She is especially glad that Tareq is the person he is with. Since Linda already knew about her own mother’s past relationship, she is more open and understanding. What matters most to her is that Nicky is happy and in a healthy relationship. Elsewhere, Ivan and Andrei meet their Italian boss, who is clearly unhappy with their performance and sees them as unreliable. Ivan and Andrei have their own plans, as they want to connect with a Brazilian gang and move away from working under their current bosses. To make this happen, they lie and say they are taking a short break to visit home. Ivan also tells Andrei that they need to build a new team since Yusuf is no longer around.

Why does Nicky go back to Ivan?

At the same time, Morgan attends a baby shower with her friends. During the event, she feels pressure to settle down and become a mother because she has been in a long relationship compared to others. On the way back home, Max gets upset about how she behaved. In response, Morgan opens up and says that she does not feel settled in her life and does not want to become a mother right now. Her reaction feels honest, especially considering everything she has been dealing with. Meanwhile, Tareq discovers that an event meant to honour him for his work in the LGBTQIA+ community is actually a scam. The people behind the event have taken money from participants and disappeared. This deeply affects him.

Nicky then decides to approach Ivan for help. He offers that he and Morgan will go with Ivan to Miami if Ivan can help track down the person responsible and recover the stolen money. During all this, the siblings also learn about another shocking event. At a public meet and greet for the mayoral campaign, Linda got into a confrontation with Tom and ended up punching him. This incident leads to her being taken to jail, and Annette steps in to help her. By the end of the episode, Linda faces the media and makes a strong statement. She declares that no one can bring her down and makes it clear that she is determined to stay.

Big Mistakes (2026) Episode 7 ‘I’ve Really Enjoyed my Time With You’ Recap:

What happens in Miami?

The episode begins with Morgan feeling like she is living her wildest dream. She and Nicky are about to fly to Miami on a private jet with Ivan and his team. The siblings are both surprised and excited by how far things have gone. However, after they land in Florida, things quickly change. They learn that Ivan and his group will now have to go directly to meet the Brazilian gang at their location instead of the original meeting point. Before heading there, Ivan tells Nicky and Morgan to dress well and hands them his company card so they can go shopping. The siblings get ready and present themselves in their best clothes. When they finally reach the Brazilians, something feels off. The people they meet seem suspicious and alert, as if they are already expecting trouble.

During dinner, Morgan begins to feel uneasy. She senses that they might not make it back home safely. In that moment, she opens up to Nicky and shares her thoughts. She even thanks him for always being there and being himself, which shows how serious she feels about the situation. Paolo, the leader of the Brazilian gang, is not convinced about the siblings. He starts to suspect that they might be undercover cops sent to expose them. To test them, he offers them fresh cocaine. Nicky and Morgan feel they have no choice but to accept, as refusing could make things worse for them. As the night goes on, the drugs start to affect them. Morgan, who has some experience with drugs, handles it easily and even enjoys herself. Nicky, on the other hand, is new to this but surprisingly starts enjoying it as well. For the first time, he seems relaxed and less controlled.

Who is behind the deadly shootout?

During the party, Nicky meets Paolo’s son, who is also gay but not open about it. The son believes that Nicky has been noticing him throughout the night. He admits that he is afraid to come out to his father because it could ruin everything for him. He asks Nicky to keep quiet about it, showing how scared he is of his own situation. After a night full of drugs and partying, the next day brings more tension. Paolo’s men separate Ivan and Andrei from Nicky and Morgan. While the siblings are taken with Paolo to a yacht, Ivan and Andrei are questioned by the henchmen. They are asked about Yusuf, as something does not seem right. Andrei lies and says that Yusuf ran away and that he had to deal with him to prevent any problems in the business.

At the same time, Paolo takes Nicky aside for a private conversation. He reveals that he already knows about his son’s sexual identity but chooses not to speak about it because it could affect his position and power. After receiving confirmation that Nicky is indeed a pastor and Morgan is a teacher, Paolo decides to let them go. This decision comes after his men inform him about the truth behind Ivan’s business. Later that night, everyone gathers to celebrate the business deal finally going through. The mood is relaxed, and it feels like the tension has passed. However, things take a sudden and violent turn. A group of people disguised as cocktail servers open fire. In the chaos, almost everyone is killed. The only ones who survive the attack are Nicky and Morgan, leaving them in shock as the episode comes to an intense end.

Big Mistakes (2026) Episode 8 ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ Recap:

The finale episode of Big Mistakes begins with Nicky and Morgan completely shaken by what they have just gone through. They are still trying to process how they managed to escape such a dangerous situation at the last moment. Even after everything, they choose to lie to Linda about their trip. Linda, however, is already under a lot of pressure because of her mayoral campaign. She is waiting for the final result, and it turns out that she is tied with Tom. The decision is so close that it comes down to a simple rock, paper, scissors game to decide who will win. At the same time, Nicky makes a big decision about his life. He quits the church, finally accepting that he cannot continue living a life that does not align with who he really is. He also tells Tareq everything that has happened over the past few weeks, including all the dangerous situations involving Ivan and the mafia. Tareq is shocked and does not know how to react. When he learns that Nicky even went to the mafia for help to recover the scammed money, he feels unsure about what the future holds for them.

Why does Yusuf kidnap Nicky and Morgan?

Meanwhile, Morgan is also struggling to deal with everything. Her situation becomes even worse when she accidentally runs over Max with her car. This adds more stress to her already chaotic life. At the same time, Natalie and Linda talk about the campaign. Natalie has given her full support and worked very hard for her mother, but she only receives complaints and emotional outbursts from Linda, who is too consumed by her own worries to appreciate her daughter’s efforts. Things take a darker turn when Nicky is suddenly kidnapped from his home. He later finds himself tied to a chair along with Morgan at Ivan’s place. It is revealed that Yusuf is the one who kidnapped them. Yusuf explains that he never actually went to Istanbul. Instead, he went to Ivan’s bosses, the Italian gang, and told them that Ivan had his own hidden plans. Because of this, the Italians attacked and killed Ivan’s group, not knowing that the Brazilian gang had also been wiped out.

Why did Nicky and Tareq break up?

The Italian gang then questions Nicky about Paolo’s son and whether he will take over after his father. They want to know what Nicky and the son had discussed. Nicky keeps his promise and does not reveal anything important. He only says that he does not know much. To test Yusuf’s loyalty, the Italians ask him to kill Nicky. Yusuf is unable to do it. To scare the siblings, one of the gang members points a gun at them, but it turns out there are no bullets in it. After everything that has happened, Nicky finally loses control and has an emotional outburst. He blames Morgan for stealing the necklace in the first place, saying that it led to all their problems. The next day, after thinking deeply, Nicky makes another painful decision. He breaks up with Tareq to protect him. He lies to the Italians by saying that Tareq knows nothing, and he believes that staying away is the only way to keep him safe. The breakup is heartbreaking, but both of them understand that it is necessary for now.

Big Mistakes (2026) Ending Explained:

Whose necklace did Morgan steal at the beginning?

Soon after, there is a big change in the mayoral race. Tom decides to withdraw his name, which leads to Linda winning the election. This feels like a moment where things are finally falling into place for her. To celebrate, Annette hosts a party in Linda’s honour at her home. During the party, Annette takes Morgan aside to a private room. There, Morgan learns the truth. The necklace that started everything actually belonged to Annette. It was all part of a larger plan. Ivan worked for the Italians, and the Italians were working for Annette. She has been running illegal activities across different places to maintain her power. Supporting Linda’s campaign was just a way to keep everything hidden and under control. Linda has no idea about any of this, and her position helps keep suspicion away. Morgan’s connection with Max also helps keep everything within the family.

How does Annette control Morgan’s family?

Annette then gives the necklace back to Morgan, presenting it as a gift. However, it is not just a simple gift. It acts as a way to control Morgan and her family. Annette also makes it clear that Morgan should not break up with Max, showing how much control she has over their lives. Morgan shares this truth with Nicky, showing him the necklace and explaining everything. At the same time, Natalie finally loses her patience. She warns Morgan not to marry Max and says that marriage can trap her and stop her from living the life she truly wants. The ending of Big Mistakes (2026) ends with a strong hint that Annette now controls everything, including the business, the town, and the family. In the final scene, both families come together for a group photo, which is taken by a member of the Italian gang, leaving a sense that their lives are now fully tied to this dangerous world.
