In this article, I will break down Euphoria (Season 3) Episode 4, explaining how these characters only bring more havoc into their lives with their messier life choices. Please note that there are major spoilers throughout the article.
Euphoria (Season 3) Episode 4 ‘Kitty Likes to Dance’ Recap:
Why does Rue become an informant?
The episode begins exactly where the last one ended, with Rue sitting in the back of a police car while a DEA agent and a police dog search her car. Rue is in deep trouble, yet again, when a bag full of drugs is found in the car. After ending up at the station and getting fingerprinted, Rue finds herself inside a bright room with the DEA agents, who don’t waste a single second trying to get information out of her. The police know she is connected to Laurie, and that Rue has been in Mexico and involved in recent activities with the local drug cartel there. However, the more Rue tries to lie her way out of the unfortunate situation, the more ‘f—-ed up’ she gets. Rue is bad at lying, even in a dire situation, and when the agents tell her she will be spending the rest of her life in prison without parole, Rue starts calculating her options, which are none. The agents successfully break her down, and she agrees to comply with their rules and next plan of action, which is how she becomes a snitch.
Before releasing her, the DEA fixes her phone with ‘cutting-edge technology’ that enables them to tap her calls. They also replace the bag of drugs with sugar pills and laxatives. Rue then finds herself back in the sinful world, shaken and nervous about getting caught at any moment. Meanwhile, back at the club, a new girl named ‘Kitty from Kansas’ has found her place, replacing Angel. Alamo is basking in happiness due to his recent victory over Laurie after killing her pet bird, Paladin. He is so pleased with taking revenge on Laurie by killing her favorite bird that he takes the new girl to a private room to ‘celebrate’ the victory. What follows is a disturbing and grotesque scene that, honestly, the audience did not need to partake in. But Sam Levinson enjoys R-rated viewership, I guess!
Why does Cassie leave Nate?
Meantime, we also learn how the DEA plans to catch the perpetrators of this drug fiasco. Their plan is to use the fake drugs to eventually lead Alamo back to Laurie. They also install an app on Rue’s phone so they can track her movements and secretly listen to everything happening around her. The problem is that Rue has to keep the phone visible at all times for the microphone to work properly. She decides to carry it in a very obvious fanny pack, which later gets locked inside a safe. Honestly, everything about all this screams for help. For Rue! On the other hand, Nate is tasting dirt. Even though life has only been bitter and downhill for him, he still refuses to use his brain and rather sits on the couch looking at his foot, which is covered in residue of betaine from the toe surgery he had. Meanwhile, Cassie is super done with his bullshit agendas in life and makes sure she is ready to do anything in life to avoid becoming poor, even if it means leaving Nate behind in his misery trip and moving out with the help of her ‘best friend’ Maddy.
So, while Nate yaps about having money and claims that he never lied to her, Cassie points out to him that no relationship is ever built on lies. Pfff! Girl, please. We then see Maddy taking Cassie away in her convertible car as Cassie realizes being an OnlyFans star is her calling. Maddy immediately decides Cassie needs a total makeover. She gathers a group of people to transform Cassie’s appearance and turn her into a glamorous social media version of herself. Meanwhile, Lexi is trying to move forward with her career and offers Jules a paid art opportunity connected to the TV show LA Nights. She explains that they want Jules to paint something inspired by Georges Seurat. Jules gets excited and starts painting, but the final work, her version of the painting that includes 14 pennies, becomes extremely dark and disturbing for the studio people. Lexi’s boss, Patty, is horrified and angry at the same time because Jules’ work has cost the studio a lot of time, money, and delays, which is not considered polite or professional. Lexi gets a proper dressing-down over the matter, while Jules cannot fix the painting in time, filming gets delayed, putting Lexi’s job at stake.
What is Lexi angry about?

Back at Laurie’s, a funeral for Paladin takes place. Her crew, in the meantime, plans revenge against Alamo. At the same time, Rue gets more pressure from the DEA to get information on record. They even threaten Rue with prison time if a meeting between Laurie and Alamo doesn’t take place. While Rue tries to explain her situation, the agents do not care, and this leads Rue to help organize a drug deal with another supplier instead. Going back to Cassie again, we see her staying at the same place as Lexi’s apartment. After selling her wedding ring, Cassie uses the money to invest full-time in her social media career. Maddy helps her film content, and Lexi is shocked by how much money these young women can make online by posting crazy stuff for ‘perverts’ to enjoy.
In the meantime, Rue shows up at the apartment to ask Maddy for drugs (for her boss). Rue gets shunned immediately by the three girls as they think she is relapsing again. This only creates more frustration for Lexi, as her job is at stake, people are making money through illicit activities, there is no respect for professional or personal integrity, according to her, and her own sister is preparing to join OnlyFans full-time. Elsewhere, we see Nate get completely bogged down by the permit board even after begging them not to shut down his Sunset Settlers project. Despite crying, begging, and almost bootlicking multiple times in front of the board, his request gets rejected. He loses it completely and, while there is still time to turn his ship around, he continues to reject humility.
What happened to Angel exactly?
Back at Alamo’s, Rue uses her phone to record the conversation at the poker table where Alamo and his crew are playing. She mentions to Alamo that she has a contact in Mexico for future business if he does not want to go back to Laurie. This makes Alamo suspicious, and even though Rue tries to maintain a poker face, everyone knows something doesn’t add up. At one point, Alamo suggests that Rue is relapsing into hard drugs and, out of fear, she lies and agrees with him to save herself from the situation. Later, Rue removes Angel’s name from the locker and assigns it to the new girl. It turns out that Angel has disappeared after running away from the facility. As Kitty takes Angel’s place and the club’s life continues to move on, there is an extremely disturbing and graphic scene where the girl dances for the customers while a group of men take extreme advantage of her in the private cabin. While Rue oversees everything from the TV monitors in the safe room, she is oddly disturbed watching Kitty undergo the extremities of the job. She even checks on Kitty in the restroom, asking if someone is forcing her to do the job, which Magick overhears. This leads Magick to tell Big Eddy that she doesn’t trust Rue at all.
Euphoria (Season 3) Episode 4 ‘Kitty Likes to Dance’ Ending Explained:
How does Cassie go viral?
On the other hand, the episode goes back to Cassie dressed in all black as Maddy prepares her to attend a party at social media celebrity Brandon Fontaine’s mansion. Since he has millions of followers online and one tag from him can bring immediate success, Maddy instructs Cassie with specific rules, including not sleeping with him at all. At the party, Maddy coaches Cassie on how to manipulate Brandon and the crowd and immediately throws her into the mix to grab Brandon’s attention. Cassie goes wild and instantly gets people’s attention as Brandon’s team starts filming her. Another girl, much like Cassie, also joins in and soon, along with Brandon, the three are inside a private room where they start taking drugs. The night gets crazier as Cassie becomes heavily intoxicated from the booze and drugs. When Maddy realizes that her friend is no longer in the party room, she takes Brandon’s team upstairs to the room. It is as if Maddy had planned everything well, as she and the crew bust open the door only to find Brandon sniffing cocaine from Cassie’s navel, which gets captured on film. Cassie introduces her handle name, and soon her phone explodes with notifications and followers, to which Maddy tells her that she has everyone’s attention now.
Did Laurie target Alamo’s crew?
Back at the club, while Magick confronts Big Eddy, Rue gets a call from the DEA warning her that she has been compromised. While Rue tries to calm the situation, two masked gunmen enter the club holding Rue and Magick hostage, demanding that Big Eddy open the safe. At first, he is hesitant, but when Big Eddy gets shot in the stomach, forcing him to comply, he gives up and unlocks the safe. The robbers take everything and leave. Rue calls Bishop, requesting that he rush Big Eddy to the hospital. However, Bishop demands to check the security footage first, and Magick identifies that there was another person in the truck outside, a woman with giant lips. Rue immediately realizes that it was Faye, Laurie’s worker. It turns out that Laurie and Alamo’s war is back on.
Is Rue completely compromised now? Will Cassie become the dream star she wants to be? Is Maddy going to use Cassie as her ticket to Hollywood? Guess we will find out in the next episode.
