“Yin and Yang”

The episode begins with Gabimaru and Gantetsusai dueling. Seeing his state, Gantetsusai did not expect Gabimaru to have the strength to fight. Aseamon Fuchi proposes that they do not fight but gather information. Fuchi asks if Gabimaru intends to fight them both. Gabimaru realizes that, put together, the both of them are strong; he proposes that they team up and work together. Gantetsusai makes a move, but Gabimaru does not budge. Gantetsusai tells him that he is disappointed in him as he needs strong warriors to team up. Fuchi wants to know why Gabimaru is willing to team up.

Gabimaru tells them about Tensen, and both of them are shell-shocked. Fuchi asks him for more details about Tensen, but Gabimaru tells him that he does not know the specifics. He tells him that he needs a pardon as he wants to see someone. Before Fuchi can ask anything, Gantetsusai states that he is all in. Fuchi asks why he would do that, as Gabimaru is his enemy. Gantetsusai says that he is not interested in being pardoned but in becoming immortal. Both Gabimaru and Fuchi are shocked. Fuchi asks if he intends to consume the elixir. Gantetsusai says he is not talking about literal immortality but immortality that comes with people remembering him and being the talk of the town for years to come.

Fuchi says he is not interested in his bombastic goals but in immortal beings. They finally agree to the deal and team up. Fuchi wants to know more details, and Gabimaru starts to explain about Mei. When he turns around, he is surprised to find her turned into a woman from a child. He is much more shocked when she calls out his name and realizes that she can speak now. In that state of shock, he asks her who she is. He realizes his aggressive actions soon and apologizes. He thanks her for saving him, asks her to tell him more about Tensen and that enormous power, and asks if she is like Tensen.

Sento tells the group that he does not believe this place to be the real Shinsenkyo as the names like Horai are all derived from different religious cultures. He explains that he had read about a religion created similar to this, and a place like this mysterious island was created. He also tells them that it is not that humans do not return from the island, but that only those who turn into flowers return. He tells the group that if this is true, then this will be the clue to understanding this mysterious island. Yuzuriha says that if this were true, it would be difficult to defeat Tensen. She also believes Gabimaru and Mei that might be dead, but Sagiri is sure that Gabimaru is alive and is devising a plan to defeat Tensen as he wants to see his wife.

Gabimaru asks Mei if she knows how to defeat Tensen. She says its Tao is strong, as well as weak and tender at the same time. Gantetsusai says that the navel is called tanden, but Fuchi corrects him by saying that it is below the navel, which is what it is called in Chinese Meridian. Hoko explains to the group that Tao is a mysterious power that flows through all things, and Tensen controls it.

Nurugai tests Shion, and he tells her that he will not teach her how to use a sword. Shion does not teach her how to swing a sword as he does not want to see any more young lives end before him. Nurugai begs him to teach her and tells him that she does not wish to see anyone else she loves die before her eyes. Shion explains that this cannot be taught overnight; everything in the world creates a wave, and he can sense these waves. He tells her that sensing these waves improves one’s physical capabilities. Hoko, Shion, and Mei are talking about the same thing. Tao is balancing the yin and yang of nature.

Shion is teaching Nurugai the basics of wielding a sword when a monster tries to attack from behind. But Shion slashes its hands and neck. While fighting the monsters, he teaches Nurugai how to use a sword. Nurugai uses what she learned by fighting the monsters. Monsters appear in front of Gabimaru’s group. Gantetsusai slashes the monsters and tells Gabimaru that they do not have time to master Tao but the best place to learn a skill is on the battlefield.

Two members of Tensen, Mu Dan and another female lord, are having an intimate time while discussing that once they throw a human into the pit, they can create more Tan. Mu Dan tells her that they cannot escape once a human is weakened, as the walls will block them. Chobei and Toma manage to climb out of the pit. Toma tells his brother they should leave the island, but Chobei wants revenge and decides to kill Tensen. Toma asks him to devise a plan, but Chobei tells him that the weakness of Tensen is the lower half of the body.

As they are discussing, a different monster appears in front of them. The monster tells them he is a Doshi and serves the Tensen. He asks Chobei and Toma to return to the pit, but Chobei attacks him, and Doshi retaliates. Chobei breaks his hand and Doshi asks if he has consumed Tao. Chobei tells him that if he served the Tensen, the shortest way to get to them is by killing him. Chobei tells him that he will force answers out of him. Doshi warns him that if he does not choose a peaceful resolution, he will act accordingly, and more monsters appear before them.

The episode ends with Toma being afraid, but Chobei orders him to kill those monsters. Doshi analyses the flow of Tao in Chobei’s body and realizes that he is strong but exhausted. Chobei attacks, but Doshi responds accordingly and brings Chobei down.
