Demet Özdemir and Şükrü Özyıldız starrer Love Tactics became quite popular on Netflix in no time. So, it was obvious that the streaming giant would want to cash in on its enormous success. The film did nothing new with its romantic drama and just rehashed tropes and cliches associated with this genre. ‘Love Tactics 2’ (Original title: Ask Taktikleri 2) makes no improvement. You see two incredibly attractive people falling for each other. Now, this time, they struggle to make each other to convince their views about the marriage. ‘To marry or not to marry?’ – that’s the dilemma.
It features characters with no real-life problems who can enjoy exuberant lifestyles and roam around with no care whatsoever. If that’s your jam, you can tune in and add to the viewership count that would make this conglomerate feel like they should churn out more projects like this.

What happened in Love Tactics?
Love Tactics follows the journey of two people, averse to the idea of ‘love,’ falling for each other. A fashion designer-blogger, Asli (Demet Özdemir), and the ad executive, Kerem (Şükrü Özyıldız), did not believe in love. While trying to prove a point to their friends about the unusual tactics of love, the couple falls head over heels with each other in ways they could not imagine themselves. In a done-to-death trope of an airport meeting sequence, the two confess their love for one another. This film was written by Pelin Karamehmetoglu and directed by Emre Kabakusak.
What happens in Love Tactics 2?
Directed by Recai Karagöz, Love Tactics 2 follows the trivial concerns of Asli and Kerem. It largely follows the way both these wealthy people perceive marriage. One wants to get married, and the other doesn’t. The film follows them trying to justify and convince each other of their sides. Asli’s friend, Cansu (Deniz Baydar), and Kerem’s friend, Tuna (Atakan Çelik), are about to get married. Asli helps her friend get ready for the wedding but is indecisive. After giving a monologue on how patriarchal marriage as an institution is, she finally goes all mushy and switches sides.
After this wedding, Asli starts thinking about their life. She had already spent a year in a relationship with Kerem and started thinking it was about time they got married. Cansu and Tuna’s marriage stirred up her emotions in that direction. However, she soon realizes that Kerem also does not want to get married. So, she and her friends start thinking of reasons why he is against it. Since she thinks they are a perfect match, she tries to find ways to convince him otherwise.
On the other hand, Kerem’s friends believe Asli would ask him to get married soon enough. Since the successful Ad exec does not want that, they start plotting ways to convince Asli that marriages don’t work. They visit Kerem’s house and make unreasonable demands to make Ali lose belief in marriage.
She wouldn’t want to keep doing this for the rest of her life, right? They think it would change her perception. But, Asli does not consider it as a defeat. Soon after, she takes her friend Ezgi’s (Hande Yilmaz) baby to Kerem’s office to get him to babysit. But they both realize the responsibility soon enough. While Asli tries to prove that she would be a great wife, she struggles to take care of the baby as Kerem does.
Asli’s Parent’s Marriage
Since this plan fails, Asli makes up another one. She decides to call her parents home to meet Kerem. She believes her parents are madly in love, and their marriage made their bond stronger. So, she thinks it would help change what Kerem thinks about marriage. But the moment her parents step into her house, she realizes that the reality is much different.
Her father had taken a completely different persona that her mother disapproved of and outright hated. Asli’s father acts like a child, probably because of his midlife crisis. Her mother keeps drinking to get over her discomfort. So finally, during that same visit, the mother goes on to ask the father for a divorce. Still, Asli does not lose hope in her plan.
Bulut’s Entry
Asli and her friends soon meet their old friend, Bulut, who comes to visit after ages. Bulut is incredibly attractive and wealthy, which irks men like Kerem. He also learns that Bulut used to be in love with Asli when they were in high school, but she rejected him since she did not feel the same way. So, Bulut dated Feride, who later married Kerem’s friend Emir.
Now Kerem starts thinking that this man would steal his partner from him. Kerem’s jealousy increases when Bulut invites Asli and her friends to his private island and his hotel. Kerem and his friends decide to get on this island because of their jealousy and fear. They find a way to travel to this place where the women are just having fun by themselves. They all act as if nothing strange has happened, and they just happened to be somewhere nearby.

Do Asli and Karem end up getting married?
While on Bulut’s private Island, it takes no time for Kerem and Asli to realize that Tuna and Cansu shared their secret plans with others. Since the cat’s out of the bag, the couple starts to directly address their difference. They start doing that by dancing on a stage in front of a bunch of strangers. That gives them some time to bond. The next day, Kerem takes Asli on a surprise adventure trip on a plane. But the pilot’s rookie skills put them in a tough spot.
They have a hard time trying to make peace with it. In the middle of their fight, they all witness a storm. The pilot faints immediately and puts the couple in a tough spot. Kerem suddenly takes charge of the plane despite having no experience. During this life-and-death situation, he ends up confessing that he wished they had gotten married. He somehow manages to get them out of the storm. By then, the pilot magically reappears from his slumber and takes charge of the plane. He lands the plane safely back to the land.
Later, Kerem tells his friends that his priorities have changed after the plane incident. He now cannot imagine a life without Asli and wants to get married to her. Just around that time, Bulut offers her a job opportunity in Dubai. She decides to accept it. Soon after, Kerem proposes to her. She says no because she thinks he doing this to make her miss the lucrative offer.
He convinces her that he is not a male chauvinistic pig and would not restrict her in any way. That turns out to be the truth in this fictional world. Asli and Kerem do get married at the end of Love Tactics 2, and Asli still accepts the job offer. The couple finds ways to make it work. Their friends, Emir and Feride, have a baby, whereas Ezgi also gets into a relationship. So, they all start a new phase of their adult lives.
