Adults (TV Series 2025) Episode 1, “Pilot” Recap:
The episode opens with a group of friends—Samir, Billie, Anton, Issa, and Issa’s boyfriend Paul Baker—on a train. All except Paul live at Samir’s house while his parents are away. The group complains about the broken boiler. On the train, they notice a man masturbating, yet no one intervenes. In retaliation, Issa begins touching herself, but the man is aroused. The next day, Issa asks Samir to let Paul move in, but Samir declines. Meanwhile, the group reads a news report on their friend Kyle, who has accused his boss of groping him. At the bank, Samir struggles to get money to fix the boiler. Outside, Billie admits she’s jealous of Kyle’s sudden fame and payout. Additionally, Billie also mentions that most men don’t realize when they cross a line sexually, which unsettles Samir.
Later, Samir meets his ex, Carly, who says he once had sex with her while she was drunk—but otherwise, Samir never crossed a line. Meanwhile, Billie’s friends urge her to use the workplace’s tense atmosphere to get ahead at work. So Billie’s boss sets a meeting with her, but Paul points out it’s on a holiday. Later, Issa and Anton join Kyle’s protest. Now, Issa claims to have multiple identity cards—immigrant, woman, sex worker—that she can “play” to draw support. Soon, Issa starts managing Kyle’s schedule. Eventually, Billie confronts her boss, so her boss asks Billie not to show up to work. Meanwhile, Samir nearly hooks up with Issa’s friend but leaves when Carly texts him. Finally, Billie returns home to find the group high and fixing the boiler themselves, so Billie joins in.
Adults (TV Series 2025) Episode 2, “Spitroast” Recap:
The episode opens with Billie in the washroom, stressed, waiting for a work email. Suddenly, Issa and Samir enter as Issa is shaving Samir’s armpit. Unable to wait any longer, Anton enters to urinate. Suddenly, Billie poops blood, so the group takes her to the hospital. There, Billie puts Samir in charge as a proxy, which upsets Issa. While Billie is getting a colonoscopy, Anton and Paul Baker bond. The doctors ask Samir to bring Billie in after a couple of weeks to do an endoscopy. As of now, Billie is doing okay. However, Anton points out that Billie is only insured by her work; if Billie loses her job, then it’s going to be expensive to pay hospital bills. Worried, Samir threatens the doctor to do the endoscopy. Now, Samir brags about his assertiveness. Meanwhile, Issa sees a priest and wants to vent, so he redirects her (to the chapel) to talk to Jesus instead. Now, Issa expresses to Jesus how she feels unseen by her friends.
Throughout the day, Anton and Paul play games in the hospital. Later, Anton suggests to Issa that they should ask Paul to move in with them. Hearing this, Issa becomes upset, as she has been asking the group for this every single day. Once again, the doctors tell Samir that Billie can come in for cervical tests in two months, but Samir pesters them to do the tests immediately. When Samir sees three tests with three pipes inserted into Billie’s different body parts, he feels bad. The tests all come back normal (the reason for the blood was because of stress), but Billie is high from all the medication. Unfortunately, Billie is fired from her job, so Issa volunteers to deliver the bad news. Due to the medicines, Billie does not react negatively to the news. At home, Anton and Samir decide to let Paul move in, but they present Issa’s idea as a favor, even though it has always been Issa’s idea. Just as Billie tells Samir that she doesn’t have health insurance, Billie receives a $15,000 bill from the hospital.
Adults (TV Series 2025) Episode 3, “Have You Seen This Man?” Recap:
The episode opens with a stabbing incident in Samir’s neighborhood. Oddly, Anton seems to know everyone, including the stabber. When officers hand out posters, Issa and Paul spot Anton with the suspect. The group jokingly calls Anton a “friend slut” for being overly nice. Meanwhile, Samir apologizes to Billie and promises to help pay her hospital bills. In the text messages, Anton has offered to cook for the killer. Later, when Ethan (the killer) replies to Anton’s messages, Billie and Issa take Anton to the police. At home, Samir tells his parents about the stabbing. They ask Samir to check the coat closet, where he finds a shotgun. So, Paul suggests they sell it for cash. At the station, while Anton gives his statement, Issa encourages Billie to fulfill her fetishes and signs her up for a dating app. Now, Anton tells the cops that he gets connected to people instantly.
However, when cops bring suspects, Anton fails to identify Ethan. Meanwhile, Paul’s attempts to sell the gun at a store backfire, so Paul and Samir try selling it outside. Back at home, Ethan arrives looking for Anton. Unaware of his identity, Billie finds Ethan attractive and wants to hook up with him. When Anton returns, Anton panics, grabs Billie and Issa, and rushes them to the car. In the car, Anton calls the cops, but when Ethan asks to join them, Anton reluctantly agrees. Now, Issa and Billie scold Anton. When Ethan reaches the trunk, Anton drives off in panic. Now, Anton cries, thinking he’s killed Ethan. However, Ethan is alive. With Issa and Billie’s support, Anton finally tells Ethan he doesn’t want to be friends. Just then, the police bring Paul and Samir home. The group asks the cops to arrest Ethan. Finally, Issa deletes Anton’s unnecessary contacts.
Adults (TV Series 2025) Episode 4, “House Rules” Recap:
The episode opens with Samir discovering condoms all over the bathroom. So, Samir calls a group meeting to discuss house rules—a tradition that doubles as an intervention. First, Paul is asked to dispose of condoms properly. Then, Samir is told to get a job. Billie’s rule is to stop visiting her high school, but Billie insists that if she stops, people will think she’s dead. Next, Anton is encouraged to end his dry spell, and finally, the group decides to air-tag Issa because she keeps getting lost. The first to break the rule is Billie, who visits her high school again. Some students, familiar with Billie’s weekly appearances, are not welcoming. Meanwhile, Samir lands an interview with a Fintech company. At a café, Paul attaches a tracker to Issa’s bracelet. They overhear a man and think he’d be perfect for Anton, so Issa drops the tracker into the man’s bag.
At school, Billie sees her debate championship photo and becomes emotional. A teacher cheers Billie up by asking her to help grade essays. Back home, Paul and Issa track the man and convince Anton to meet him. Unfortunately, the tracker had fallen out long ago and is now being carried by rats. Meanwhile, Samir gets the job but immediately moons his new team and is fired. However, Samir speaks to a delivery guy and ends up signing up for that job instead. At school, the teacher helps Billie reduce her medical bills from $15,000 to $2,000. Turned on, Billie gives him a blowjob. Pretending to meet the mystery man, Anton steps out but sneaks back home to stalk his ex. In the end, Billie is happy, and the only one who followed through on their rule is Samir, who now has a job.

Adults (TV Series 2025) Episode 5, “Theracide” Recap:
The episode opens with Samir leaving for his delivery job just as the rest of them hear three alarms set by Anton. This means that Anton is bringing someone home. So, the group cleaned the place. When Anton arrives, he tells the group that it’s four alarms if he is bringing a guy home. Now, Anton has bad news as Issa’s and Anton’s therapist, George, has died. At the funeral, Anton overhears some women saying George didn’t die the way the family is saying. So, Anton assumes George committed suicide. Now, Anton tells this to Issa. They both blame themselves for George’s death. Elsewhere, Billie and Mr. Teacher are having sex. Afterward, Mr. Teacher invites Billie to go with him to an art exhibit. During a delivery, Samir and Paul meet teens who have ordered beer. Unfortunately, they see the kids playing a video game that these two like. They now join the teenagers to play video games and also give the minors liquor.
At home, Issa announces that she is going to call a medium home, so Anton and Issa need the living room that day. Although Anton does not believe in the medium, he plays along when the medium brings out an Ouija board. However, Anton tells Issa that the medium was moving the planchette. When Anton asks for a sign from George, a door bangs; this is Paul and Samir closing the front door (but Anton and Issa don’t know this). At the art exhibit, Billie makes a fool out of herself, but Mr. Teacher assures Billie that it isn’t that bad. At the teenager’s house, Samir and Paul confiscate the alcohol and leave the party as the boys have called teenage girls for a party. At George’s home, Issa and Anton learn that George fell in the bathroom and died. So they now visit George’s grave to get some closure. At night, Mr. Teacher is hoping to meet Billie’s friends someday. However, Anton and Issa arrive shouting that they aren’t monsters and didn’t kill George. On the other side, Paul and Samir are throwing up from having a lot of alcohol.
Adults (TV Series 2025) Episode 6, “Roast Chicken” Recap:
The episode opens with Billie putting the chicken in the oven to roast for Mr Teacher’s visit. Since Mr. Teacher is classy, Billie asks everyone to dress up and behave. As it’s a party, Paul requests to invite his friend Jules, and Billie agrees. Soon, Mr. Teacher arrives. When Mr. Teacher and Samir are alone, Mr. Teacher confesses that he is on a small dose of ketamine due to the rough time he’s having with his divorce. When Paul asks Issa if it’s okay to invite Jules, Issa is more than happy. However, Issa loses her cool when she realizes Jules is none other than Julia Fox. Understandably, Issa feels jealous and fights with Paul over it. Meanwhile, Mr. Teacher tells Samir that he wants to break up with Billie because she is too young.
Now, Samir tells Billie that she should not be dating Mr. Teacher. However, Billie thinks Samir is jealous as Samir had asked Billie out long ago. The roast chicken, sadly, is terrible as Billie has not cooked it properly. Seeing a deranged Mr. Teacher, Samir tells Billie that Mr. Teacher is on ketamine. Now, Mr. Teacher locks himself in the bathroom and comes out only to insult Samir or Billie. The last straw for Billie is when Mr. Teacher calls Billie his rock bottom. So, Billie calls Mr. Teacher’s emergency contact, who is his ex-wife. The wife tells Billie that Andrew (Mr. Teacher) might be Billie’s rock bottom. After everyone leaves, Anton asks Paul (as Paul does not realize he is friends with celebrities) who else he knows, and Paul mentions Scarlett. In the end, Issa screams into the oven as Julia does not even remember Issa’s name or who she is.
Adults (TV Series 2025) Episode 7, “Annabelle” Recap:
The episode begins with Issa introducing Annabelle to Paul and Anton. Although Issa is hosting a pregnant girl seeking an abortion in New York, she cannot babysit and asks Paul and Anton to take care of Annabelle. Meanwhile, Billie has been staying home since her breakup with Andrew, so Issa takes her to the studio where she trains kids for a recital. At the studio, Issa’s boss insists Issa abandon the current recital written by the children and revert to a previous one. Back home, Annabelle wants pizza, but when Paul and Anton take her out, Annabelle is rude and sassy so much that it breaks Anton and Paul’s self-esteem. At the studio, Issa protests with the kids over her boss’s decision, prompting Billie to step in and try to negotiate. Frustrated that Issa isn’t being taken seriously at work, Billie joins the protest.
Elsewhere, Samir is on a getaway with Carly and accidentally clogs the toilet. After a failed attempt to fix it, Samir learns Carly is responsible for the clog as well, and they share a kiss. At the end of the day, Issa unlocks the studio door, ready to perform the recital her boss requested. During dinner, Annabelle and Anton get into an argument. Later, Paul offers Annabelle weed to tempt her to hang out with them. Now, Annabelle reveals she wants this weekend in New York to mean more than just having an abortion, explaining her earlier behavior. The next day, while waiting for Annabelle, Anton and Paul show signs of attraction to each other. That night, Issa, Billie, Anton, and Paul perform the recital for Annabelle and Samir.
Adults (TV Series 2025) Episode 8, “The Mail” Recap:
The episode opens with the group outside their overflowing mailbox. It has been months since any of them have checked their mail. Finally, they decide to read their mail. Among them is a mail from Conrad Edison, and they cannot figure out what that is. The other set of mail is for Samir from his parents, with postcards from different locations. Meanwhile, the stabber sends mail to Anton from prison. In good news, Billie has managed to pay off her hospital bills. The bad news is that Paul’s visa is expiring, and he will need to move back to Canada if he has any chance to get his visa renewed. To keep Paul from leaving, Billie suggests that Paul get married to a citizen. However, Paul thinks it is committing fraud. By then, Issa is already on her knees, proposing to Paul. In this situation, Paul agrees to be married. As soon as Paul leaves to call his attorney, Issa asks Anton and Samir to talk to Zack-Carlos. When Anton and Samir meet Zack-Carlos, Issa and Paul meet a priest to get their marriage registered.
Adults (TV Series 2025) Ending Explained:
Whenever the priest asks a question, Issa lies, and Paul tells the truth. Finally, Paul reveals that he is getting married to stay in the country. The priest refuses to register their marriage. Issa is married to Zack-Carlos, but she is hiding this from Paul. Meanwhile, Zack-Carlos is not signing the divorce papers to get revenge on Samir for not letting him stay in the house with the group years ago. In a bar, Billie is flirting with a couple who have an open marriage. However, it turns out that only the woman in the marriage wants to involve a third person, but the man wants to have children and settle down. When Paul is away, Samir reasons Issa to be honest with Paul, but she refuses. At the bar counter, Paul confides in Anton, saying he wanted an outdoorsy marriage with glow sticks during the after-party.
Thankfully, Anton understands Paul’s emotions. The next day, Samir and Anton meet Zack-Carlos and say he would have gotten along with Paul well, as they have the same interests and their personalities are alike. This makes Zack-Carlos sign the divorce papers. It’s the day of the wedding. Billie probably has a UTI because of having a threesome, and Issa has cold feet. So, Billie walks in as a bride, ready to marry Paul to keep him in the country. However, the boys volunteer to marry Paul as well. Now, the truth about Issa’s previous marriage is also out. Now, Issa steps in and asks Paul to choose who he wants to marry because they all love him and want Paul to remain in the country. That night, it is revealed (to the viewers) that Paul picked Anton to marry. The group forces them to kiss. It starts with a peck, but once the group persists, Anton and Paul share a passionate kiss, surprising the group. As the group settles down to watch a movie, the power (Conrad Edison) goes off.
The ending indicates that Anton and Paul were always attracted to each other, and now they have a reason to be closer. If there is another season, then this romance will be explored. However, Issa didn’t seem to mind the chemistry as she is young and didn’t want to settle down anyway. Eventually, Samir and Billie may get together as well. Billie has gone from being a responsible adult to exploring her sexuality. It also looks like Anton is moving on from his ex, thanks to Paul. At this point, Adults feel like an extreme take on Gen Z’s behaviors. The issue was also with not establishing the characters from the beginning. However, the theme of friendship is sweet, yet there is a disconnect. We understand the relationships between characters and character stories much later in the episodes. This is probably why there is a lack of emotional connection in the series.
