Sree

Sree is a Kolkata-based writer and interdisciplinary artist with a Master’s in Film Studies from Jadavpur University and five years of experience in commercial films, web series, and documentaries. Her artistic practice explores memory, queerness, and displacement through what she calls “image-prose,” which blends photography, text, and autofiction to weave personal experience into broader socio-political landscapes. She approaches memory as something generative rather than static, excavating silences and challenging conventional narratives to create degendered spaces that imagine alternative possibilities rooted in feminine reclamation of history and vulnerability. In between stories, she dissects films and books, obsesses over history, and paints like her life depends on it.
