“Chastity High” (Original title: Renai Batoru Rowaiyaru) is a teen drama set in Asuran Academy. The school is headed by a strict principal, Ikushima, who has strong feelings against school romance. At first, Asuran Academy was an all-girls school, but now it has become co-ed. When the two genders mix, it becomes difficult not to violate the school’s no-romance rule. Despite the strict regulations, students continue to fool around.
The fear comes in when the first couple gets expelled from school. Another student, Sawa, hunts down student couples and reports them to the school authorities, making everyone afraid of her. At the same time, Ichica comes from a low-income family surrounded by rich kids in school. Ichica uses this situation to extort money from rich kids. Eventually, Ichica falls in love, making things complicated.

The series opens by setting the tone for what’s to come. It is set in Asuran Academy, which has stringent rules like forbidding student romances and mixing of sexes after school. The series’ first scene is a couple having sex and immediately receiving a message from someone. That ‘someone’ asks for 2 00,000 yen to keep quiet about the couple’s affair. A narration from Ichica Arisawa says she is ready to make money from other people who are in love. This is because Ichica was impoverished from birth. She knew from an early age the limitations of not having money. In the next scene, we see Ichica before a judge at the court. We are cut to the story where it all begins.
Ichica’s Dilemma in the Newly Merged Academy
Despite the academy becoming co-ed, the school still has the same rules for forbidding dating within and outside the campus. If caught, the punishment is expulsion without any warning. During this time, Ichica sees a boy, Ryougo Maki, playing basketball and remembers that she has met him before. A while back, Ichica’s mother had some health issues, so Ichica was waiting in the hospital. Maki was also waiting for someone there, and they started a conversation.
Despite the rules, Maki plans to visit karaoke with some other girls. The rich girls never exclude Ichica from the plans just because she is impoverished, but Ichica does not have that kind of money to waste. The Governor visits the school after the merger and promises to support the principal Ikushima’s mission for the school. Since the governor’s son Haruto will be a teacher there and his other son Maki will be studying at the academy, the governor can help with the mission.
Is Love Worth the Risk? Tensions Rise as Rules and Relationships Collide
A girl named Ayami seems to have fallen in love with Haruto. When the governor visits the basketball court to meet Maki, Maki ignores his father. Meanwhile, Ichica’s father abandons Ichica and her mother but pretends to care for Ichica. Despite the troubles, Ichica and Ema (Ichica’s closest friend) find ways to be happy with the little things. It seems Ema has a boyfriend from a different school but is considering breaking up because of the rules in her academy.
At the karaoke, as Sawa and Yuzuki are waiting for the boys, Sawa makes a move on Yuzuki, making her uncomfortable. In Maki’s house, the governor is annoyed with Maki’s behavior, so Maki’s mother defends him. Subsequently, the governor slaps Maki’s mother, making Maki furious. In the end, the governor warns Maki never to embarrass him again.
Why Ichica is offended?
The next day, Ichica and Maki become friends at school. At that moment, the whole school is notified about two students who were expelled because they were caught going into a love hotel. The school elections are over. Atushi Kanda is an accountant who is interested in Ichica, as he has many pictures of Ichica on his phone.
Suddenly, a teacher appears when Ichica and Atushi are alone, so Atushi hides. The teacher asks Ichica to inform her mother to pay the school fees and says there is no hurry as the school understands Ichica’s situation. Later, Ichica sees Maki kissing a girl named Kahori. Suddenly, teachers approach in the same direction. So, Ichica creates a distraction, making Maki and the girl run away. Later, Kahori thanks Ichica for saving her and offers to pay a million yen for her silence. Ichica is offended as she knows Kahori is offering the money, knowing Ichica is impoverished. So, she refuses to take the money.
Why Ichica accepts the money in exchange for her silence?
When Ichica gets home, debt collectors wait and say that Ichica’s mother is liable for her father’s debt. So Ichica and her mother consult lawyers, but they don’t have any choice as Ichica’s mother’s signature is on the paper. With so much debt and Ichica’s school fees, Ichica tries to think of what she can do to help. At the same time, Maki has a party at his house and has invited the whole school. The reason Maki is having the party is to provoke his father.
Sawa sees Yuzuki getting close to a boy and starts attacking him. The situation gets worse as Sawa picks up a knife and starts swinging aimlessly. Suddenly, Haruto comes home, and Ayami pulls Haruto away and asks him why he is pretending not to know her. Soon, Haruto and Ayami kiss. Elsewhere at the party, Ichica agrees to take up Kahori’s offer to take money to buy Ichica’s silence. When this happens, Maki thinks that the situation is messed up. Even though Ichica does not want to do this, the situation at home is making her go to such lengths.

The episode opens with Ichica’s mother trying to get a job at a bar. Ichica’s mother works two jobs at home to pay debts, bills, and Ichica’s tuition fees. So Ichica lies, saying she has got a scholarship and everything is covered. To save money, Ichica starts cycling to school and receives a refund for her commuter pass. However, Ichica can’t take a job because she will be expelled.
At school, people talk about Sawa’s reaction during the party, which makes Sawa overly suspicious. In a flashback, we see Yuzuki asking Sawa to apologize to Nashiki. So Sawa wonders if Yuzuki is in love with Nashiki, so Yuzuki says she does not have romantic feelings for Sawa. Still, at the party, Haruto says he wants to end things with Ayami as he is afraid that Ayami will get expelled. At present, Maki learns that Ichica comes from a poverty-ridden household. So Maki tells Ichica that he wants to pay Ichica money as well, but she refuses.
Who snitched on Ema?
Meanwhile, Ema tells Ichica that she has broken up with her boyfriend, Akkun. Furthermore, Ema says her mother used to be rich, and now she is going to the UK for the student exchange program, which is the same school her mother studied in. At Atsushi’s house, his mother asks about Ichica, making the situation awkward. At Maki’s house, Maki and his mother have a secret. Maki is secretly going to America to study, play basketball, and escape the house.
During the mid-term exams, Ichica sees Sawa trying to copy. So after the exam, Ichica promises to keep the information a secret. However, Sawa’s paranoia is at its peak, so she gets mad at Ichica and leaves. In the counseling room, Miyama is trying to flirt with the counselor, Yuki. So, Yuki dismisses Miyama and asks him to use the app if he finds it challenging to address a problem directly.
Later that day, Yuki gets a tip from the app about Ema being close to a boy entering a hotel. Ema is called into the principal’s office, where Ema says they broke up. However, when the principal checks Ema’s phone, she sees Ema has slept with Akkun, so Ema is expelled. It turns out Sawa is the one who snitched on Ema. After Ema leaves, Ichica begs the principal to give Ema another chance. However, nothing can change the principal’s mind. After school, Ichica visits Ema, hoping to console her. However, Ema asks Ichica to survive in the school and fulfill both of their dreams. Later, Yuki reveals to Ikushima that she has received many anonymous tips about students violating the school rules.
How does Ichica make use of her position in the student council?
The principal now calls the student council members and asks them to be the gatekeepers of any violation that will take place within and outside of school premises. The student council members get the name of the rabbit hunters. When no one is around in the school library, Haruto and Ayami kiss. Later, Haruto sleeps with Yuki. At Maki’s house, Maki’s father finds out about Maki moving to America, so he cancels his son’s secret plans. After school, Sawa and Ichica surveil a hotel to see if a couple who went inside were from their school. When Sawa goes to the other entrance, Maki sees Ichica and is disappointed by her actions. So Ichica lies to Sawa, saying the couple were not from their school.
The next day, Ichica comes home and finds notices stuck to her door. Meanwhile, the debt collectors barge into Ichica’s mother’s workplace, creating a commotion as Ichica’s mother has not paid the month’s interest. Later, Ichica visits Ema and sees that the family has moved out. In the trash, Ichica finds the vision board belonging to Ema and her. Now, Ichica is determined to survive, so she calls herself the love keeper and blackmails students into paying money to ensure their love is kept a secret. Once Ichica receives the money, she deletes the photos and keeps her promise not to reveal the affair to anyone.

The episode opens with Ichica overhearing a conversation about the leak site to which Yuki has access. Grabbing the opportunity, Ichica uses the site to know who is in love. Using the information, Ichica blackmails the people involved. Once Ichica receives the money, she deletes the message on the leak site using Yuki’s computer. However, Ichica cannot get Maki to pay, as his father controls the school. Meanwhile, Sawa still suspects Yuzuki likes a boy, so Yuzuki tells Sawa that it is suffocating to be around her even though Yuzuki feels sorry for Sawa. After that, Sawa visits Yuki and expresses that the way the site is run concerns Sawa. Yuki informs the principal of the same.
Is Haruto two-timing?
At the choir practice, new love slowly blossoms between Toda and Irisawa. The principal has called Sawa to chat about her difficulties. Instead of understanding Sawa, the principal convinces Sawa to be in charge of students to stop them from violating school rules. After the student council meeting, Yuzuki pries into Atsushi’s love life, wondering if he likes Ichica. It is Haruto’s birthday, and Ayami gives him a tie as a present. Suddenly, Haruto starts kissing Ayami and encourages her to have sex with him. Visibly, Ayami is uncomfortable, yet she consents to Haruto to sleep with her.
At school, the principal asks Yuki to ignore any violations against Maki. When Ichica sneaks around Yuki’s office, she realizes Maki’s family is protecting Maki. At dinner, Yuki gives Haruto a tie (which is the same as what Ayami has given), and he is dumbfounded. When Haruto asks Yuki to meet his father, Yuki is rude, asking now that Haruto is old if he has to introduce a suitable woman to his family.
Meanwhile, Toda and Irisawa are about to kiss, and Ichica takes a picture and runs. As Haruto arrives home, Maki asks him why he is covering for Maki. Haruto asks Maki to stop his foolishness as there is no way he can escape the school or country. When Haruto leaves, Maki finds a card written by Ayami asking Haruto to meet her in the library.
Who joins Team Love Keeper?
Now, Maki responds to the love keeper and asks for help as he believes his family will not protect Maki anymore. The routine follows, and Ichica brings the bag with cash home. Suddenly, Maki arrives at her doorstep, asking to make him part of the blackmail. This way, Maki can make money to go to school in America. Maki knows Ichica is behind the lovekeeper as the bag has a GPS tracker inside. As they both converse, debt collectors arrive and trouble Ichica. So Ichica gives some money, asking the debt collectors not to say anything to her mother. Watching this, Maki feels awful, and Ichica agrees to let Maki join her.
The duo successfully collected the cash and split the money. Later, Ichica needs to delete the image from Yuki’s computer, but the door is locked for the first time. So, Maki suggests checking for a spare key in the teacher’s room. When they arrive, Ichica finds the key and is about to leave. Suddenly, a teacher comes, so Maki covers for Ichica so she can get into Yuki’s office. Once the job is done, Ichica enters the teacher’s room, asking for the student council room key. Using the excuse, Ichica places Yuki’s room key back. Later, Maki brings soda for Ichica, and they happily walk out of the corridor.

The episode opens with Ichica’s mother at Ichica’s school scolding Ichica for not informing her about the class observations. Since Ichica’s mother is in school, she wants to thank the teacher for Ichica’s scholarship. When Ichica freezes, not knowing what to do, Maki saves her. Outside, Maki’s mother and Ichica’s mother hang out. At that time, Atsushi’s mother bumps into Ichica’s mother, and it seems they know each other. However, Ichica’s mother ignores Atsushi’s mother and leaves.
Meanwhile, Maki has an exciting idea: to make animated videos for Love Keeper messages. On the other hand, Ichica continues to pay off the debts slowly. At home, Ichica’s mother tells Ichica that when she visits the debt collector’s office, the balance has been reduced. The debt collectors have told Ichica’s mother that Ichica’s father is also paying off the debt.

During this time, a girl messages the Love Keeper and asks for help. The problem is that the couple comes from a strict Catholic family, and they can’t ask their parents for money. Now Maki thinks they should do one for free to protect the couple’s love, but Ichica says she is doing business, and if word gets out, no one will pay them. Since the Love Keeper has not responded, the couple prays to help them.
Meanwhile, Haruto continues to have sex with Ayami while also seeing Yuki. The board of directors warns the principal about the number of students getting expelled. They give Ikushima one last chance, and after that, Ikushima has to be responsible for anything that happens. At school, Maki sees Haruto head towards the library, so Maki follows Haruto.
In the usual place, Haruto waits while Maki hides and watches. Suddenly, Yuki arrives, taking Haruto by surprise. Now, Maki assumes Haruto is dating Yuki. After Yuki leaves, Maki sees Ayami getting close to Haruto and talking. At home, Maki fights Haruto after he realizes what Haruto is doing. However, Maki’s father is rude and insensitive towards Maki protecting Haruto.
How do Ichica and Atushi’s mothers know each other?
In their usual spot, Ichica arrives and sees Maki. So Maki tells Ichica about how his father treats him and his mother. Hearing the story, Ichica takes Maki home and shows him the dream board. Through the conversation, Ichica reveals that she is in this prestigious school because of her mother. So, Ichica will do anything to get herself and her mother out of the dire situation they are living in. After the conversation, Ichica, through Love Keeper, tells the couple if they don’t tell anyone, Love Keeper will help them for free this one time.
During the school trip, Atushi tells Ichica a story about a woman bringing a child to his house as his mother had cheated on the other woman’s husband. At this time, Atushi’s mother visits Ichica’s mother to apologize for sleeping with Ichica’s father. Between the apologies, Atushi’s mother says Atushi is a lovable boy who can’t predict his moves if he feels betrayed. On the field trip, Atushi asks Ichica if she likes someone, so Ichica says no.
During dinner, Sawa and the group realize that the Love Keeper must know how to hack the website, as it is accessible only through Yuki’s computer. Meanwhile, Haruto takes Yuki home and introduces her as his girlfriend. So, Maki’s mother tells Maki the same, confusing Maki further. That night, some of the kids burst firecrackers and have fun. Among the group, Maki and Ichica spend time together, which Atushi watches from afar.
What are the reasons not to love?
After getting caught playing with fireworks, the girls hang out in the room and play a game. They decide to send a message to either Maki or Miyama and see to whom the boys respond. When Ayami messages Maki, she gets a response from Maki asking to chat. However, Ichica does not get a reply, which makes her feel terrible. So Ichica feels the first reason not to fall in love is the fear of getting caught.
If Ichica gets caught, she will be expelled. The second reason is that Ichica cannot tell what the other person thinks. The third is that since Ayami receives a message from Maki, Ichica feels as Maki and Ayami talk, Maki will fall in love with Ayami. Later, Ichica messages Maki that she will do the Love Keeper thing alone for some time.
Chastity High (Renai Batoru Rowaiyaru, Season 1) Episode 5 “Why doesn’t Gay Romance Count?” Recap:
The episode opens with Nashiki and Ichinose’s story. The gay couple spend a lot of time together. During the field trip, Nashiki and Ichinose kissed. At school, Ichica is going about the Love Keeper business as usual. Now, Sawa is suspicious and heads towards Yuki’s office. Luckily, Atushi makes an excuse to take Sawa away. On the website, Ichica sees a picture of Nashiki and Ichinose.
So, Ichica uses the Love Keeper account to blackmail them. In a flashback, we see Maki informing Ayami that Haruto is bringing home his fiancée. Maki does this to protect Ayami from getting hurt. As per the agreement, Nashiki and Ichinose pay the Love Keeper. However, Ichinose seems carefree, but Nashiki is timid, making things difficult in their relationship. Ichica fails to delete Nashiki and Ichinose’s photo, this time as Sawa enters Yuki’s office.
Will Nashiki and Ichinose get expelled?
Just before Sawa enters, Atushi saves Ichica. Later, Ichica confesses to Atushi that she is the Love Keeper. So, Ichica takes Atushi to her usual spot, where Maki is already waiting. This time, Atushi wants in on the Love Keeper business; however, Atushi does not want any money from it. Since Ichica failed to delete the photos, she returns the money to Nashiki and Ichinose. Meanwhile, Yuki shows a picture of Nashiki and Ichinose being close to each other to Ikushima, but they are not expelled.
In return, Ikushima asks Yuki to be careful with the Love Keeper. Meanwhile, Haruto takes Yuki to shop for engagement rings. Other than Haruto, Yuki seems to have conflicting feelings. It almost seems like Yuki has a crush on Miyami. Pictures of Nashiki and Ichinose are plastered on the bulletin board the next day. After that day, Nashiki stopped showing up at school.
What happens between Ichica and Maki?
Later, Ichica heads out to give some notes to Nashiki, so she asks Ichinose to tag along. At Nashiki’s house, Nashiki is heartbroken about the situation. Once Ichica and Ichinose leave, Ichinose tells Ichica that the sad part is that the school doesn’t even acknowledge their relationship. Listening to Ichinose, Ichica confronts Ikushima, asking why she dismisses Nashiki and Ichinose’s love. Ikushima says in a relationship, the girl always gets hurt, implying that in Nashiki and Ichinose’s case, that problem won’t occur.
Before walking off, Ikushima asks Ichica if she is the Love Keeper, making Ichica nervous. Meanwhile, Atushi turns Yuzuki down by not reciprocating her feelings. That night, Ayami breaks up with Haruto, making him furious. After that, Ayami meets Maki to thank him. As Ayami and Maki talk, Ichica watches, assuming the worst, and runs away. Seeing Ichica, Maki follows her into an alley and says nothing Ichica assumes is true—eventually, Maki and Ichica kiss.

The episode opens with Koharu and Kiko’s story. After a brief make-out session with Maki, Koharu dates Kiko, and she seems to be in love. The school prepares for the upcoming school festival. This time, Ichica’s class is putting on a dance performance. Meanwhile, Ichica and Maki seem to enjoy their initial days in love. At school the next day, the student council suspects that Koharu is dating someone.
Ichica steps in and asks them to gather more evidence before reporting it to the school. At that time, Koharu meets Ichica and says Maki has fooled around with many girls, which makes Ichica uncomfortable. Later, Atushi and Ichica decide to keep an eye on Koharu so they don’t get caught by the rabbit hunters.
Who dumps Haruto?
When Ichica is alone practicing, Maki arrives, and suddenly, Ichica says Maki will kiss anyone. It’s time for Maki and Ichica to have a serious conversation. Both Maki and Ichica confess that they love each other. However, Ichica wants to wait until graduation to start dating. However, this does not sit well with Maki, so he leaves. These days, Sawa is down as she is not rabbit hunting. During dance practice, Ayami asks Ichica if she is dating Maki, as Ayami wants to clarify that nothing is going on between Maki and her. Meanwhile, Haruto reaches out to Ayami, which Maki has noticed. So Maki asks Haruto to take a hint and leave Ayami alone.
That night, Haruto meets Ayami in front of her house. Now, Haruto assumes Ayami is dating Maki and refuses to accept that relationship. It’s the school festival, so Koharu invites her boyfriend to the event. Atushi and Ichica ensure the rabbit hunters don’t spot Koharu and her boyfriend during this time. Meanwhile, Ayami meets Maki and tells him what Haruto has done. However, Ayami understands both Maki and Haruto as they are the victims of their father. At school, Haruto visits Yuki’s office, where Yuki ends their relationship, believing Haruto’s intentions are driven by his father’s expectations for marriage.
Can Ichica and Maki be just friends?
Unable to understand herself, Sawa meets Ikushima to confront her about the unfairness of how love is treated in school. At this time, Ikushima asks Sawa if Ichica is the Love Keeper. At Yuki’s office, Maki asks Yuki to talk to Haruto about leaving Ayami alone. Furthermore, Maki apologizes to Yuki as she must be angry, realizing what Haruto has done. To protect Koharu, Maki and Ichica end up inside a theatre.
At this time, Sawa enters as well, trying to capture evidence. So, Ichica texts Koharu about the rabbit hunters and deletes the evidence. When Sawa checks Koharu’s phone, there is a message for Sawa asking if she has a right to check other people’s phones. When Sawa looks around, she spots Ichica confirming her suspicions. Meanwhile, Atushi realizes that Ichica is probably in love with someone.
On the festival’s second day, Sawa confronts Ichica, asking if she is the Love Keeper. However, Ichica denies it but says she understands the Love Keeper’s sentiments. This time, Ichica provokes Sawa, saying the only reason Sawa is into rabbit hunting is because Yuzuki and Sawa hurt her, and she cannot see anyone in love happy. When Ichica says this, Sawa slaps Ichica and runs away.
Later, Ichica finds out that Koharu broke up with her boyfriend as he tried to use Koharu for money, whereas she really loved him. After the dance performance, Ichica and Maki meet at their usual spot and have sex. Immediately, we see an alert saying Ichica and Maki have been expelled from school.
Chastity High (Renai Batoru Rowaiyaru, Season 1) Episode 7 “Is It a Crime to Fall in Love?” Recap:
The episode begins with Maki comforting Ayami, asking her not to worry about Haruto anymore. Through these interactions, Ayami is starting to like Maki. After the festival, Maki and Ichica meet in their usual spot. When Ayami sees Maki, she follows him to the spot. There, Ayami spots Maki and Ichica making out. There is another person there, Atushi.
At school, Ikushima calls Ichica and Maki for questioning. At that time, Ichica admits to sleeping with Maki because she loves him. The school finds out that Ichica is the Love Keeper. Since Ichica is extorting money, Ikushima threatens to file a police complaint unless Ichica is willing to give the names of all the students from whom she had taken money.
Who reported Maki and Ichica’s love to the school authorities?
At home, Ichica’s mother slaps Ichica for extorting money from other students. What triggers Chihiro (Ichica’s mother) is Ichica’s view of the rich and the impoverished. After the fight, Ichica spends her time sleeping in the internet cafes. Later, Maki’s father, Akira, visits the school to ensure Ikushima does not expel Maki.
At the school, Ikushima tells Akira that she looked the other way previously because she knew Maki was purposely fooling around. This time, Maki was in love and had violated the school rules. After a disappointing chat, Akira has to deal with more bad news. Now, Yuki informs Akira about Haruto cheating on her with a student. To make things worse, Haruto does not leave the student alone.
When Yuki asks to go to the police station, Akira gets serious. At home, Akira beats Haruto, saying both his sons make him look bad. This time, Maki stops Akira from hurting Haruto. Meanwhile, Yuki meets Ichica and apologizes for not protecting the students. In the end, Yuki says until the rules change, nothing can be done. Once the expulsion is confirmed, Ayami faints. At the hospital, Yuki tells Ayami that it is because of Maki Haruto is leaving the school and leaving Ayami alone. Hurt by her actions, Ayami confesses that she is the one who reported to the school about Maki.
What drastic decision does Ichica take?
Ichica has a meal but does not have enough money to buy more food. Suddenly, Sawa shows up and offers Ichica some food. They converse, and Sawa realizes her mistake of not dealing with her feelings. Realizing Ichica has nowhere to go, Sawa asks Ichica to stay in her house. At night, Ichica gets a message from Ema after a long break. The next day, Sawa and Ichica meet Ema. Here, Sawa confesses that she was the one who snitched on Ema. The biggest news for them all is that Ema is pregnant. Later, Ichica and Ema hang out when Ema suddenly goes into labor.
At the same time, Miyama gets hurt on the basketball court and is rushed to the hospital. At the hospital, Maki and Ichica cross paths. Throughout the labor, Ichica remains with Ema, who gives birth to a girl child. Now Miyama is doing alright, and a worried Yuki arrives at the hospital. Maki and Ichica have a chat, and Maki apologizes for pushing Ichica to date. However, Ichica says she chose what she wanted to do. After a rough couple of days, Ichica decides to sue the school to change the rules.

The episode begins with Ichica suing the school to abolish the no-romance rule. At first, Chihiro was unhappy with the idea. However, Ichica convinces Chihiro that, at first, Ichica didn’t know what she was doing, but once she fell in love, Ichica understood what it meant to protect her love. During the first trial in court, Ikushima admitted to having the no-romance rule in place.
The plaintiff argues that, according to the education laws, the school needs to offer sexual education courses instead of banning romance. The defendant, Ikushima, says that, as a private school, they can run it however they see fit. The plaintiff then argues that the students are not given fundamental human rights. Meanwhile, all of Ichica’s friends visit her house to support her in this trial. Seeing Ichica happy makes Chihiro smile.
A school’s trial exposes deep injustices
As this happens, Maki feels helpless watching Ichica fight this battle alone. At the trial, Yuki gives her testimony that the way the rule was put into action was wrong from the beginning. Next, Ichinose testifies, saying his existence felt meaningless when the school did not acknowledge his romance. After that, Sawa takes the chance to admit her mistakes while rabbit hunting and apologizes to everyone she hurt. During Ichica’s testimony, she surprises the people in the court with how Ikushima handles the situation, as Ikushima invades Ichica’s privacy by checking her phone and asking for intimate details about her relationship.
Does Ichica win the trial?
During Chihiro’s questioning, the defendant puts Chihiro in a spot by questioning Ichica’s true intention in creating Love Keeper. As Maki and Atushi realize the direction the trial is going, they express their opinion on saving Ichica. Atushi argues that if the messages are read, one can get to know that it was a deal made with the Love Keeper and not an extortion. Meanwhile, Atushi has come to terms with his emotions and decides not to get in between Maki and Ichica’s relationship.
Before the final trial, Ichica’s lawyer finds information about Ikushima. Ikushima is strict about the no-romance rule because when Ikushima was in school, her best friend died. The reason the girl died was that she got pregnant, gave birth to a child, and died. Since the girl could not seek help from her parents, it led to this tragedy. At the court, Ichica tries to plead with Ikushima to trust her students and give them the freedom to love or not love. Both Ikushima and Ichica break down in court. The court’s verdict stands with dismissing all of the plaintiff’s demands. So, Ichica loses the trial.

Who is blackmailing Ichica?
The good news is that Maki and Ichica’s expulsion is revoked, and the other expelled students can return if they wish. However, Ichica wants to pursue the case further. Meanwhile, Ayami comes in to threaten Ikushima that she will reveal her affair with Haruto. At the same time, a group of students led by Sawa came to Ikushima with signed petitions to revoke the no-romance policy. So now voting takes place to see if the rule should be kept or not. As the counting is in progress, Ichica tells Ikushima about Ema, and it seems Ikushima already knew about the pregnancy. Before leaving, Ikushima tells Ichica that the rule was necessary, and Ichica will soon learn why.
Unfortunately, the votes were to keep the no-romance rule intact. Three months later, Ichica writes a letter to Maki. In a flashback, we learn that Maki has moved abroad to study, and the motivation is Ichica. Seeing Ichica fight in court made Maki realize he needed to pursue his dreams. Before parting ways, Maki asks Ichica to wait for him. Now, Ichica has a new goal to make a school that impoverished people can attend. As Ichica enters school, she gets a message from someone called LK. The account thanks Love Keeper for their service. The new LK sends a message saying her love is under the radar and asks for money to buy their silence. In the end, they reveal that LK stands for Love Killer.

Ultimately, the no-love rule is not removed as it seems the students want it. Thanks to Ichica, Maki is going after his dreams, and it looks like Maki’s mother stood up to Akira to convince him to let Maki go. Luckily, Ichica’s father returns, apologizing to Chihiro and promising to pay the debt amount. The school has not expelled Ichica; now, she can pursue her dreams. However, a new problem arises for Ichica as someone is using her tricks to kill her love.
This surely means there is a second season with Love Killer ready to expose anyone who is in love and make money out of it. The first target is Ichica. Can she pay the money? The show uses an interesting topic to stage a young adult show set in a school with a unique concept of whether to love or not to love.
