Delicious (2025) Plot Summary & Movie Synopsis:
The film opens with a wealthy family, John, Ester, Philipp, and Alba, riding in a taxi in France. There are protests on the street to increase the wages. As Philipp is a young adult, he understands protests and takes videos of what is happening outside. But Alba is still a child and is afraid. So John assures Alba that their taxi is bulletproof. However, Alba knows that isn’t true. The family is from Germany, but Ester’s home is in France. Every summer, the family visits the house for a vacation. When John makes love to Ester, she hears rats scuffling in the attic. So, the lovemaking is cut short.
In a hotel, the staff hang out in a room. One of these boys urinates in a wine bottle. In the same hotel, John’s family has arrived for dinner. At the dinner table, Alba shows the family some new card tricks. In the washroom, Ester talks to her colleague Frank over some business dispute. One of the hotel staff, Teodora, overhears the conversation. One of the servers gives John and Ester free alcohol. Before the family leaves, Teodora rushes out with her colleague/friend Lucien. Somewhere on the road, Teodora cuts herself. Meanwhile, an alcohol-induced John is driving at night, admiring the landscape. Suddenly, Ester shouts as she sees a woman, but it’s too late as John hits her. The woman is none other than Teodora.
Who is Teodora, and what does she want from John’s family?
Thankfully, Teodora is not hurt, and John thinks they should take Teodora to the hospital. However, Ester says she can take care of the situation. So, the family brings Ester home for the night. After tending to Teodora’s wounds, Ester leaves money on the nightstand. That morning, when Ester came looking for Teodora, she left with the money. Listening to the amount, John thinks they should have given her more, but Ester thinks Teodora would have asked if she needed more money. The only person who has a problem with bribery is Philipp.
Much later, Teodora comes back to the house. This time, Teodora says she was fired because of her wound. Since Teodora does not have a job, she also has to leave her residence. So Teodora is looking to be a housekeeper until she finds another job. So John tries to bribe Teodora again, but Teodora says she is not looking for a bribe but an honest job. Hearing this, Ester lets Teodora work until the end of their vacation. In the beginning, Teodora gets close to Philipp and Alba. Through Philipp, Teodora learns that Ester works in IT and hates when anyone in the family gets sick. No matter what, the kids were not allowed to get sick. Next, Teodora shows Alba some tricks using a lighter. But Alba is not tempted to take the lighter and play with it.
Who are Cora and Aki?
In the middle of the night, John and Teodora wake up to see a half-dead rat. Teodora insists John kill the animal; otherwise, they will infect the whole place. The next day, Alba sees the lighter on her desk and plays with it. Now, Teodora uses Harry Potter books to teach Alba some French cuss words. Later in the day, Teodora accompanies Philipp and John to the market. There, Teodora meets her friends. While John drinks with his friends in the café, Philipp and Teodora hang out. At the house, Teodora learns about Philipp’s unique carbon bike. In the kitchen, Teodora eats raw meat when Alba is not looking. After the previous night’s experience, John puts some disinfectant powder in the attic.
The following day, Ester and John’s friends Cora and Aki arrive home. Aki and John work together as scientists. Through the conversation, Esther learns that there is some problem with John’s published paper. While talking about money, Philipp stands up for people like waiters, those in service jobs, and other professionals who work just as hard but struggle to make money. This takes Teodora by surprise. At night, Esther tries to ask John about the paper, but he dismisses it. The next day, the whole family, including Teodora, takes a boat. On the boat, Philipp takes videos of the family and Teodora.
How does Teodora get close to John and Esther?
On the beach, Esther tells Teodora that she finds the sea scary. A while later, Frank calls Esther, and she is distressed. The whole family is lazing around when Teodora takes Esther’s phone, which Alba sees but does not say anything. Later, Esther is annoyed as she has lost her phone, so Teodora helps Esther buy a new phone from her friend’s store. While sharing a smoke with Teodora, Esther vents her emotions and says sometimes she feels like running away. In the room, Philipp smiles and is looking at Teodora’s video. The following day, Teodora uses the knowledge of bikes she got from Philipp to ride a bike with John. The trick works.
At night, Alba tells Esther that Teodora was the one who stole her phone. When they confront Teodora, she plays victim, asking Alba if she had done something wrong to accuse Teodora of something like stealing. Later, Teodora pierces her wounds, so Esther tends to them and offers to take Teodora out for dinner. At dinner, Teodora tells Esther not to be so hard on herself and that everyone has a right to be unhappy. Through the conversation, Teodora says Alba has kept Ester’s cell phone in the closet, but Teodora asks Esther not to confront Alba about it.
Why does Esther run away from home?
Taking advantage of the situation, Teodora takes Esther to a bar with her friends. There, Esther gets close to Lucien. After getting high, Esther dances with Teodora and her friends. Seeing Lucien, Esther feels familiarity, but Lucien assures Esther that they haven’t met. Early in the morning, Lucien convinces Esther to swim in the sea. While Alba swims in the house, Aki visits and asks Alba to tell John to call Aki. From the room, Esther watches the interaction. In the market, John tells Teodora that it is difficult to deal with Esther as she is self-centered. So Teodora encourages John not to let anyone take away his strength.
At home, Alba tells Esther that Teodora is stealing from Esther, but she refuses to believe Alba. Later in the day, John and Esther get into an argument. Now, John has revealed some problems with his findings, so the company plans to fire him. Furthermore, John blames Esther for not believing in him and being self-obsessed, which is the root cause of the problem. After the fight, Esther takes a nap. At that time, Teodora brings some lemonade and a note from Lucien. Lucien likes Esther. The fight is a good trigger for Esther to accept Lucien’s offer to hang out. Without saying anything to the family, Esther leaves home and sleeps with Lucien.
Why does Teodora kill Esther?
That morning, Teodora gets permission from John to bring her friends over for the day. As everyone hangs out by the pool, Cora arrives with a message from Esther. The message asks Cora to look after John and the kids and that Esther will be away for a while. Once the kids leave, Cora warns John that Teodora is taking advantage of the family. Before Cora leaves, John and Cora make out. At night, Philipp visits Teodora’s room and tries to take a picture of a half-naked Teodora. Seeing Philipp, Teodora asks him to leave as she is uninterested in him. In Lucien’s house, Esther finds suspicious amounts of meat.
The following day, Teodora invites John to her friend’s birthday party, but John refuses to attend. Meanwhile, Esther attends the same party with Lucien. At the party, Esther meets a man who says Lucien and the others work in a hotel. A realization hits Esther, and she tries to leave. Before leaving, she sees one of Teodora’s friends eating the man she was talking to earlier. However, Teodora stops Esther from leaving and says she initially underestimated them. Additionally, Teodora adds that Esther’s perfect world can never be separated from the others. Furthermore, people like Esther are smaller in number while people like Teodora are more. Saying that, Lucien bites Esther, and the others join in.
Delicious (2025) Movie Ending Explained:
Hearing the noise Teodora and his friends make, John wakes up, and Cora is beside him. The noise also makes Cora leave the house. Hearing the rats above, John tries to climb the attic, but Teodora arrives and kills John. At dawn, Philipp returns home and finds Alba sleeping next to Teodora. When Philipp tries to wake Alba up, she does not budge. So, Philipp enters the kitchen and eats the meat on the table. By then, Teodora takes Alba and her friends and leaves the house. While chewing the meat, Philipp bites into a metal; a ring falls to the plate as he spits out.
The film eerily tells the story of class differences, setting the message clear from the first scene. The film is made of metaphors that talk about a capitalist society. Teodora and her friends are cannibals who target the bourgeoisie. When a wealthy family enters the restaurant, they evaluate to see who is rich enough to loot and kill.
Once the target is locked in, the plan begins. Like most people, everyone has secrets and insecurities. Using this, Teodora breaks the family apart to reach her personal goal. As Teodora says, the fundamental idea is that the impoverished will eventually swallow the rich as they are numerous. This idea is spread across the film. In one scene, we see Teodora tell Esther that it is time for the monsters, meaning the lower class, to take over the rich.

When Teodora tells John that the beasts will grow in number, she means the impoverished class. Teodora and her friends kill Esther for underestimating the lower class, John, for the same reason as he treated them differently. In the last scene, Teodora takes Alba away, and considering the pattern, Alba will probably be killed and eaten. Philipp is still alive because he was the only person who didn’t treat Teodora differently and understood the struggles. In the last scene, Teodora leaves the meat on the table for Philipp. The meat Philip eats is John’s flesh as a ring falls out of Philipp’s mouth.
