Devil’s Diner (Tiệm Ăn Của Quỷ, 2025) is a chilling anthology horror series centered around a mysterious diner and its enigmatic owner. The first story explores the devastating cost of greed, revealing how it can consume and destroy those who fall under its spell. The second follows a once-loving mother and son, whose relationship fractures as misunderstandings arise when the son, Tuan, grows older—his wounded pride turning love into resentment. In the third tale, a devoted father loses his beloved son to a tragic incident at school. Blinded by grief and fury, he makes a fateful decision that spirals into irreversible consequences.
The fourth story unravels the dangers of delusion, especially when it clouds the perception of those we hold dear. In the final chapter, suspicion takes root in a once-beautiful relationship, corroding trust and unraveling the bond between two souls. All five stories are bound by the eerie presence of the diner’s owner, a man cursed to remain unless someone takes his life. Within the confines of this mysterious establishment, the sins of its visitors are laid bare, and karmic judgment is served—whether they are ready for it or not.

Devil’s Diner (Tiem An Cua Quy, 2025) Episode 1 “GREED: Blood Pudding” Recap:
The series opens with Luan opening a wooden box. Once Luan opens the box, he cuts his finger and lets the blood drops fall into the box. At this moment there are voices of babies crying. After giving some blood, Luan closes the box and waits for a while before opening the box again. When Luan opens the box, he finds a few bundles of money. Excited, Luan starts putting the cash inside a bag. Outside, Luan’s wife Nhi calls him to pray to the Goddess. Since the couple has been trying to have a child but cannot conceive, Nhi trusts in faith to help her. However, Luan is investing with Hao to make more money to help with the IVF treatment.
Why do Luan and Nhi fight?
The couple has little to live by, so Nhi is unhappy with Luan making risky investments. In a diner, Hao tries to open up a unique door with religious carvings. The diner’s chef asks Hao to make more money than just make commissions. Another man named Long waits in the diner for Luan to arrive. While Hao is comfortable with the amount of money he is making, the diner’s chef pushes Hao to be selfish. Soon Luan arrives and gets to know that the initial payment was just grease money and Luan will only make 1% of the profit as he is contributing only 1% of the entire amount. Hearing this, Luan and Long get into a fight.
However, Hao mediates and makes them both agree on the deal. That night, Nhi worries about Luan, thinking his blood illness is back. Once before, the couple had conceived, but they lost their child. A shaman has told the couple that the scarlet child is following them. The following day, Nhi asks Luan to join her to meet a shaman. When Luan is showering, Hao calls Luan and says Long is arrested. To save their money, they need to bail Long out of jail. So Luan agrees to arrange the funds by that afternoon.
What gift does Luan get from the diner chef?
After a shower, Luan starts giving blood to the children in the box. Suddenly, Nhi insists on Luan unlocking the door, making him panic. However, Luan lets Nhi in, but Luan is angry and yells at Nhi, saying she needs to realize that she is too old to have a child. Soon Luan calms down and apologizes to Nhi. In a flashback, Luan is a mechanic and expecting a baby. During that time, Hao visits Luan, urging him to sell his house. Hao makes a great offer, but before Luan can think about it, he gets a call from a hospital as his wife has met with an accident.
When Luan gets to the hospital, he realizes that the child cannot be saved. At that time, Hao invites Luan to a diner to make a deal. In the diner, the chef starts questioning Luan if just a child and family is his path to happiness or if money will solve the issues. Once Luan chooses that money is his road to happiness, the diner’s chef brings out a wooden box. When Luan opens the box he can hear babies crying. To feed them, Luan needs to give them blood. After that, the box will be filled with cash. However, the diner’s chef warns Luan not to overdo it as the babies will get bored.
Why does Luan kill himself?
The box is filled with Luan’s blood but no money. At the same time, Hao arrives at Luan’s house asking for money. Furthermore, Hao also knows that the diner’s chef has given Luan something to help make money. In a flashback, the diner’s chef asks Luan to eat chicken blood pudding with crushed, roasted peanuts before handing over the box. However, if Luan chooses to eat the food, then his soul belongs to the chef. At present, Hao finds the box and opens it. Inside, there is Luan’s blood, but once the babies start crying, Hao is unable to bear the sound. So Luan cuts Hao’s neck and feeds the babies with Hao’s blood. This time, there is money inside the box.
By then, Long calls Hao and asks for his money. Luan knows that Hao has cheated both Luan and Long. Suddenly, Nhi comes home and is about to call the ambulance, but Luan stops her and tells her about the box. When Nhi thinks Luan is possessed, he opens the box, and Nhi can hear the babies cry. Annoyed, Nhi is about to break the box, but to stop Nhi, Luan cuts her belly without realizing it. The box breaks, but Nhi is also hurt. When Luan takes Nhi’s phone to call an ambulance, he sees she is pregnant. Unable to bear the pain, Luan kills himself as well. Each time there is a death, a bulb inside the diner is lit with a green light. Now, the chef wants to leave, but the doors shut behind him, and another bulb without a light pops up.

If Tuan manages to swallow the pain, his dreams will come true. After swallowing the pain, if Tuan dies, then the soul will belong to the diner chef. When Tuan takes his first bite, he is transported in vision to the spa where Ngan works. There Ngan is cheating on Tuan with VIP customers.
How does Tuan die?
This is witnessed by Tuan’s mother who has come to the spa to apologize to Ngan. At this moment, Tuan calls Ngan, and because of Tuan’s mother, Ngan breaks up with Tuan as the mother asks Ngan not to play with her son’s heart. The next bite, Tuan sees his mother talking to his boss. The boss insults Tuan’s mother and physically pushes her to the ground. At the diner, Tuan cries, wondering why his mother never said anything to him. The chef reminds Tuan of his mother’s sacrifice with every bite he takes. The third bite is the story of his mother and father. Tuan’s mother was studying and working while Hung would get drunk.
Hung was a terrible father and a husband. The events we see in the beginning unfold. Now, Tuan rushes home to find blood all over the stairs. When Tuan gets to his mother’s room, her tongue is cut open in precisely the same pieces Tuan cut the goat’s tongue. Sadly, Tuan’s mother sees Hung in Tuan and cannot differentiate between reality and imagination. Because of this, she pushes Tuan down the stairs, killing her son. The empty bulb is filled with a smoky green light at the diner.

Devil’s Diner (Tiem An Cua Quy, 2025) Episode 5 “SUSPICION: Heart Porridge” Recap:
The episode opens at the diner with An eating his ex-girlfriend’s favorite meal on the chef’s recommendation. The duo converse about what hurts more: a break-up or death. In the next scene, An walks on a bridge and vomits accidentally on a homeless man. An vomits blood, and with it comes out a piece of flesh that looks like a piece of heart. At the same time, a woman, Vy, accidentally vomits on the same homeless man and faints. Immediately, An rushes to her aid. After recovering from vomiting, they head to the diner to get some porridge. The duo is fascinated by the unique carved door, especially the eyes on the face, as it looks realistic.
They think about opening it just as the chef urges them to do it together. But the duo refuses as it is an antique door, and they don’t want to damage it. As they wait for their porridge to arrive, they flirt. They decide to meet again the next day. The flirtations continue the next morning. After finishing her shift at the bar, Vy picks up An, and they lie down on the bridge, looking at the sky. On the exterior, Vy seems tough, but she is cheesy, which makes An laugh.
The duo start dating. One day, as An arrives to pick up Vy at the bar, he looks at a customer flirting with Vy but ignores it. Later that night, Vy and An watch a plane fly low, screaming at it when the same homeless man shows his annoyance towards them. That day, An buys a matching bracelet for them, making him the cheesier one.
Why does Vy break up with An?
That night, they sleep together. At An’s house, Vy sees a turtle and asks about it. However, An does not remember when he got the turtle. When Vy flips it, she sees someone has written don’t forget me. Despite that, An cannot remember the girl or where the turtle came from. Soon, Vy moves in with An. In the cupboard, Vy sees a woman’s underwear but does not ask about it and leaves the house for a while. At the bar, Vy is left alone with a regular customer who is flirting with Vy. When An arrives, he sees the man kissing Vy, and seeing that he leaves in anger. However, Vy takes a knife and immediately asks the customer to leave the bar. At once, Vy calls An, but he does not answer.
An is at the diner, sure he will break up with Vy. When the chef is sad because An has recently broken up with someone, An does not seem to remember anything like that. The chef insists An have a chat with Vy. Crying, An walks onto the bridge and throws the matching bracelet, which accidentally falls on the homeless man. At home, An and Vy confront each other. When An confronts Vy about the customer, she clarifies the situation. Immediately, An apologizes for misunderstanding Vy. However, Vy has decided to break up. The problem worsens when Vy does not see the bracelet on An’s hand. Once Vy leaves, An throws up a heart-like flesh.
How do Vy and An remember each other?
On the bridge, Vy also throws the bracelet, landing on the homeless man. The chef makes a meal at the diner, which helps Vy forget about An. Meanwhile, An is with his doctor who is surprised he is healthy after a rare heart condition. Unless An gets a heart transplant, he will not be able to live long. Upset, An goes to the diner to explain the situation to the chef. The chef asks An to have an open heart and start dating someone. The chef also gives An an option to forget Vy. At first, An is hesitant but caves in. Before letting An eat the porridge, he warns An that his soul will belong to the chef when he dies. As soon as An eats the porridge, he forgets everything about Vy.
A few days later, both Vy and An vomit on the homeless man. This time, the homeless man is frustrated with the couple and asks them to vomit by the river if they fight with each other. The homeless man also gives the matching bracelet to them. The duo are confused as they don’t remember dating each other. Still, they both go to the diner. However, An thinks there is a possibility that they dated maybe in a past life. When An and Vy touch the carved door, their memories come back. Since Vy and An have the same heart condition, they decide to spend the rest of their life together and don’t open the door. Someone enters the diner, taking the chef by surprise.
Devil’s Diner (Tiem An Cua Quy, 2025) Episode 6 “KARMA: Moon-Faced Snails” Recap:
The episode opens with the chef’s narration. The wheel of life consists of six realms which make up the celestial realm- The Demigod realm, The Hungry Ghost realm, The Realm of Hell, The Animal realm, and the Human realm. Five sins lead humans astray, stopping them from reaching nirvana: Greed, Anger, Delusion, Pride, and Suspicion. The most severe is killing parents and their own children. Unfortunately, the chef Huy has done both. A flashback takes us through Huy’s journey. When Huy was born, his father was a sculptor. For the longest time, Huy’s father worked on a door, and as Huy grew up, he also learned the craft. It seems like a happy family, but occasionally, a man from a diner would trouble Huy’s father to repay some debts.
What is Huy’s father’s debt?
When Huy became an adult, he took over most of the work as his father’s health deteriorated. The situation got worse on Huy’s wedding day as his father coughed up blood during the ceremony. One day, while working on the door, Huy’s father faints. The door is completed, so Huy visits the diner to get a payment. The chef at the diner said the door is only a part of the debt that Huy’s father has to pay.
The other half is for Huy’s father to kill the chef. Through the chef, Huy gets to know that his mother had anemia during Huy’s pregnancy. Knowing Huy’s father is struggling financially, the chef makes a deal with Huy’s father. The deal was to kill the chef so someone could take his place. The chef cannot walk out the door as it is his karma, and until someone kills the chef, he isn’t free.
There is one door that can help the chef to walk out and that door can only be opened by someone innocent. The door with the wheel of life was made to cover up the other door. The chef now has a deal for Huy, which can help save his father’s soul and enter his unborn child’s body. At the moment of Huy’s child’s birth, Huy needs to kill his father. Before that, Huy needs to eat the moon-faced snail dish. However, Huy does not accept. When Huy comes home, his father is in a coughing fit. The coughing began after Huy’s father learned Huy was in the diner. Now, Huy’s father tries to get rid of the oxygen tubes, and at the same time, Huy’s wife goes into labor. Immediately, Huy rushes his wife to the hospital.
How did Huy become the owner of the diner?
At the hospital, the doctor asks Huy to choose who he will save — his wife or son, as saving both will not be possible. Thinking it is the chef’s doing, Huy angrily visits the diner. The chef reminds Huy of the deal. If he takes the deal, only Huy’s debt will be paid, not his father’s. Before Huy eats the dish, he asks for time to see his son grow up. When Huy’s wife goes into the OT, Huy lets his father die. Huy’s son Hieu is born, and they have a good time as a family. As Hieu grows up, Huy senses his father’s behaviors in Hieu. Unfortunately, Hieu starts to have issues with breathing. One day, Hieu can hear his grandfather saying Huy destroyed the family and locked up his soul in Hieu’s body.
Furious Huy visits the diner and fights with the chef. The chef says he has been waiting patiently, yet Huy has not fulfilled his father’s debt. When the chef provokes Huy, he kills the chef. Before taking his last breath, the chef tells Huy that his karma has come. When Huy tries to get out of the door, he cannot. Meanwhile, Tuan’s mother recovers after spending six months in the hospital. Once discharged, Tuan’s mother sees a message Tuan had sent to Ngan about the diner. Now, Tuan’s mother recalls her son saying the diner’s owner had tricked him. So, Tuan’s mother enters the diner. However, Huy is surprised as he has never seen all the bulbs in the diner light up.
Devil’s Diner (Tiem An Cua Quy, 2025) Ending Explained:
Hopeful, Huy asks Tuan’s mother to open the door to Nirvana, but she refuses and explains who she is by showing Tuan’s picture. Chef/owner Huy explains everyone who enters the diner has a desire, and it is Huy’s job to help them fulfill it. For the first time, Huy gives Tuan’s mother a rare deal in which both Huy’s and Tuan’s mother’s souls can be saved. The first option is for Tuan’s mother to eat bitter melon leaves, which will help her speak again and fulfill any desire. The other option is for Tuan’s mother to forgive Huy and lead them both to nirvana by opening the door. Tuan’s mother chooses to eat the melon leaves.
Once Tuan’s mother eats the leaves, she can speak again and wishes for Huy to die in the same way he has helped in killing the other souls. Hearing this, Huy becomes pale, not because he will die but for the sake of Tuan’s mother. As Tuan’s mother wishes, Huy is tortured and killed in the same way the other souls die. Before dying, Huy tells Tuan’s mother that her karma has come. Unfortunately, Tuan’s mother does not understand what it means until she tries to get out of the diner. Every time she tries, she comes back to the diner. The bulbs change, and a new bulb comes out. Now, Tuan’s mother is stuck here until someone kills her.
The series comes full circle in its final episode, revealing that each story represents a different sin that ultimately leads the characters to damnation. The diner itself is bound by a sinister rule—it must always have an owner, and that owner must be a sinner, trapped in its confines until someone takes their life. Devil’s Diner delivers a haunting meditation on karma and the weight of sin, but it also explores the complexity of human perspective, showing how choices shape destiny. In Tuan’s story, he never truly understood the sacrifices his mother made for him in secret. From his perspective, all he saw was her sharp tongue, unaware of the silent battles she fought to protect him.
Minh’s father, consumed by love and grief, was blinded to the truth behind his son’s death, leading him to make a tragic, irreversible mistake—one that cost not only his son’s life but also Tu’s. Tung, on the other hand, had the opportunity to change, to redeem himself. But whether he succeeded or succumbed to his own flaws remains a question of choice.
Huy’s story suggests a glimmer of hope—perhaps his son is spared, as Huy has repaid his father’s debt. Yet, the cycle of sin remains dangerously close to repeating. At the heart of it all stands Tuan’s mother—the only truly innocent soul in this web of fate. In a world where true innocence is rare, her purity was an anomaly. But even she could not resist the pull of vengeance, ultimately choosing to sin after years of restraint. The overarching message of Devil’s Diner is clear: the only way to break free from the chains of sin and reach enlightenment is through the art of forgiveness.
