Henry Cavill Inspired by Tom Cruise Action Scene: Sometimes, to learn something from someone, it isn’t necessary to sit by their side and note down the lessons word by word. Sometimes, observing someone from a distance can also result in a lifetime of teachings that serve as inspiration. This isn’t what I say, but this is what Henry Cavil believes when it comes to his idol Tom Cruise.
Tom Cruise is a legendary actor who is prominently known for his action films. What makes him a real action hero is the fact that he performs all his action stunts on his own, thus being an inspiration to many. One of the actors who is highly inspired by him is Henry Cavill.
Cavill along with his co-star Sam Rockwell is currently busy promoting his upcoming spy thriller film Argylle. In the film, the two actors are seen doing some action scenes, and for that Tom Cruise has been a big help to them. During a conversation, Cavill said that though he never personally received any advice on action scenes from Cruise, he still looks to him as an inspiration to perform action sequels. The actor told Extra, “I don’t know if he’s necessarily given me any particular advice. It’s more about just watching the dedication he puts into stuff and that’s advice all in itself.”

While reflecting on a scene of their upcoming film, that shows Cavill and Rockwell tap-dancing, Cavill humorously added, “He (Tom Cruise) comes to a movie having learned how to stunt fly a helicopter; we learned how to tap dance a little bit. It’s a different level of dedication and that in and of itself is the advice. If you’re going to go into something, go all the way. Do it 100 percent.”
Unfortunately, the tap dance scene between Cavill and Rockwell was deleted from the film, so the audience won’t get to witness it.
However, the fight scenes in the film indeed showcase Cavill and Rockwell’s utter dedication to the film. As Cavill further explained, “It’s a lot of time spent watching each other perform the fight because normally, if you’re doing your bit then everyone says, ‘Okay, we’re going to move another actor and work with them. You can sit down and relax,’ but with Sam and I… the important bit was watching the other actor so we could try and mimic them to a degree.”
Their upcoming film Argylle is a spy thriller comedy film, based on a book of the same name by Conway. The film features Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, and Dua Lipa in the lead roles.
Argylle is scheduled to be released in theatres on February 2, 2024.
