Now, she works as an assistant to a doctor. She will soon be opening her own clinic. Knowing all of this, Mahi’s father also brags about him being one of the finest salesmen in town, which is a lie. Later, he meets Mahima in a restaurant and tells her the truth about him, which eventually pleases Mahima.

Mahima decides to marry Mahi. On the first night, Mahi sees Mahima sleep early, only to see the cricket match even before the toss takes place. This makes him trust Mahima more with her decision as they both share the same kind of passion for cricket. Mahima tells Mahi to resume his career because no one can know their potential until they try. Mahi is enlivened by this motivation and goes to practice on the net, only to find out that his touch, vision, reflex, and everything else have perished with time. Coach Shukla tells him to join him as an assistant coach because his game sense is brilliant.

Mahi wants to be in the spotlight. He knows the coaches do not get much appreciation for molding a talent. They exist in the shadows. Mahi’s brother, Siku, is an actor. He is very much influenced by Siku’s life, mostly because of all the fame he receives and the fatherly appreciation he gets for being famous. The following day, one of the players under coach Shukla gets selected for the Indian Cricket team. The whole neighborhood celebrates by appreciating Shukla. Mahi realizes that he can get the spotlight by becoming a coach as well, but Shukla rejects his appeal.  Right at this moment, Mahi sees Mahima batting on the ground, and she hits sixes seamlessly.

Mahi realizes that Mahima is not only a random cricket fan. She knows much more about the game. It was Mahima who forced Mahi to talk to Shukla about the coaching position. As the day ended, the scenario changed completely. Now, Mahi tries to make Mahima realize that she can be a good player, too. All she needs is to practice with the seasoned ball, and then maybe she can get selected for the States. Mahima still thinks Mahi is joking around. However, she remembers her childhood days when she was forced to study. But her mind was always on the ground, hitting sixes.

Why do Mahi and Mahima Have a Spat?

One day, there was a break-in in the store, which cost Mr. Agarwal around 5 lakhs rupees. All roads lead to Mahi, who went to see India’s match but was unaware of the store’s locks. Agarwal slaps Mahi, forcing him to say that he will leave the shop and become a coach. When Agarwal asks who will train under Mahi, Mahima comes from behind, saying that she will. Mahima, on the other hand, makes mistakes while assisting her reporting senior doctor and gets scolded. She doesn’t like her job either. Therefore, together, the couple decides to give it a go and make their dream come alive.

Shukla gives them a net to practice on. With time, Mahi trains Mahima well. When the time comes to confront Mahima’s parents, she doubts her decision, but with Mahi’s support, she tells them valiantly that she will continue playing cricket. When the time comes, Mahima gets selected for the States, and she faces the media. Mahi wants to share the spotlight with her, but the news channel cuts the portion where Mahima mentions Mahi. This makes Mahi both upset and jealous as when Mahima goes on the tour representing the States, Mahi seeks advice from everywhere on how to become famous.

How does Mahi help Mahima Play for India?

One of these days, Mahi’s mother comes to talk to Mahi and tries to understand what really is bothering her son. When Mahi tells her that he is not receiving enough credit for making a champion batsman out of Mahima, his mother asks him what he really seeks. Because if it is fame and glory, that world does not have an ending. No matter how famous he gets, in the world of glamor and glitz, even the star is not the limit. Everyone is running the same race. There is no winner unless you think of yourself as one. This world, this fame, is nothing but a delusion man has created inside their head.

Geeta, Mahi’s mother, before leaving the room, says that, as a mother, she only wanted to take care of her family. Has she ever wanted anything in return? Never! A mother and a father… only provide without worrying about what they will get in return. This makes Mahi realize that a coach is just like a parent to a player. The coach nourishes the talent the player has within him or her, watches them play from a distance, and points out the flaws. Sometimes, they don’t even point fingers at what should be done. They trust the player’s decision because they trust in the process of making sure, regardless of the circumstances, that they have made a fighter and will eventually prevail, no matter what.

This joy, this satisfaction, this pleasure of seeing someone shine, for whom the person, the coach, has invested so many years…Mahi realizes that this is something fame or glamor cannot offer. So, he goes to meet with Mahima, who is obviously not in the mood to talk. Mahima has her own doubts about not being able to perform on the big stage. However, Mahi assures her that if cricket makes her happy, she is made for cricket. It’s as simple as that. Mahima goes on the crease to bat when the team needs a huge total, and she sees it through with a brilliant half-century. At the end of the film, we see Mahima being selected for the Indian National team. During her first interview, she said that her journey was not hers alone; it was both her husband’s and her dream.

As Mahima continues saying how important Mahi’s contributions have been throughout her career, we see her walk through the pavilion in India’s jersey. She hits the ball out of the park. Mahi is there in the stands, cheering and screaming for his wife. Mahima puts Mahi in her jersey as a tribute to her husband’s belief and effort. Mahi ignores the media completely as he has learned where the real joy lies, and so does Mr. Agarwal. We see him removing all the frames where he stands with Dhoni, SKY, and other big stars. He replaces them with pictures of his family, which consists of Geeta, Mahi, Mahima, and himself. He, too, understands that the real joy lies in sharing it with close ones, not with the media, not with the public, definitely not on social media.
