With every new episode, Still Up is leaning into the idea that Lisa & Danny realize that they are more than just friends. Earlier, he left his apartment just to help her get back to hers. She was inebriated by drinking and drug-infused cookies that her friends had brought on their ladies’ night. So, Danny made a daring night out to ensure that she was safe and sound. But she returned home without his help, which broke his heart. Just on the way back to his house, he bumped into Amy. So, it left us wondering whether these two would get back together. Still Up (Season 1) Episode 7 shows Amy at Danny’s apartment, despite the unfortunate note they ended things on. Although Lisa repeatedly tries to reach out to him, Danny does not respond. She spends her time sorting out the stuff from their storage unit, which brings back some of her old memories.

Spoilers ahead.

Still Up (Season 1) Episode 7 “The Horse” Recap:

Do Danny & Amy get back together?

Earlier, we saw Lisa (Antonia Thomas), high on drugs and booze, wandering around in the streets of London. Danny (Craig Roberts) leaves his room just to help her return home. But by the time he reaches the Laundrette named ‘Laundrette,’ she has returned home. It breaks his heart, so he stops responding to her calls and texts. On his way back to his apartment, he happens to meet Amy (Lois Chimimba). Now we see them, once again, at his apartment, lying on his bed. Eventually, Danny keeps a bed tray next to Amy with cups of tea and biscuits. Then, he just stands there and watches her sleeping. Suddenly, she opens her eyes and sees him like that. He tries to justify that he was not creepily looking at her. She manages to wind him up quite easily. They have a laugh about it. He thanks her for giving him another chance – especially after he accidentally cut a part of her finger by closing the door in panic. She lightens the mood by not using her hand to hold the cup. Later on, they start playing a game where Amy tells a movie name, and Danny guesses the year it was released. He gives all the right answers, and they have fun with it.

Lisa’s Yoga Classes

Lisa stays home with Veggie (Blake Harrison) and says she will start the yoga classes that he wanted her to attend – for perfect sleep. Veggie praises yoga instructor Rebecca and how her guidance helped him shape his mindset for the better. Although Lisa is not much into it, she does not wish to hurt or displease Veggie, who just wants her to feel better. He hopes Lisa can find a schedule in her daily life and solve her sleep-related problems. Eventually, he goes to sleep since it is the usual bedtime. However, there’s another thing that Lisa needs to take care of. Veggie’s father created a horse model in his hobby class and gifted it to Lisa’s daughter, Poppy. But it creeped out Lisa so much that she decided to keep it away. Since Veggie is looking for it, she plans to go find it. Once he goes to sleep, she sticks a note on the fridge saying that she is going out because of the yoga workout stress. She walks out to find the same model. On the way, she calls Danny, who still does not pick up her calls. So, she sends him a voice note and says how they had not talked with each other for that long.

Lisa’s Search for Horse

While walking up to her storage unit, Lisa walks past a married couple. She hears husband and wife having an argument. The wife tells her to ‘never get married.’ A little farther, she sees the security guard hoping to find a cat – that was going through several units and destroying other people’s stuff. Eventually, Lisa reaches her storage unit and adjusts the boxes inside to find the horse model. It almost falls on her body and, again, creeps her out. While trying to get over that shock, she hears a ‘meow’. That brings her attention to the cat that the guard was looking for.

Eventually, while looking around in the boxes, Lisa stumbles upon a diary from her childhood. She instantly starts reading it, which takes her down memory lane. As usual, she does not want to leave her discoveries away from Danny. So, she calls him and reads out the entries on the voice message. One of them is about watching a horror movie with her friends. Another one is particularly sad since she ended up eating meals on her own. Eventually, she decides to leave. Just before that, she calls Danny’s neighbor, Adam (Luke Fetherston), to check if he can help make Danny speak with her.

Does Lisa manage to speak with Danny?

Lisa calls Adam and asks for a favor. By then, Veggie realizes that Lisa is asleep next to him. He walks up to the fridge to find her note. But he also sees the homepage of the yoga class guidance on the screen, which means Lisa lied to him and did not join the classes. That’s why he decides to go to Danny’s apartment to see if she is there. Meanwhile, Amy walks up to the door of Danny’s apartment. Once he opens it, they both see Adam on his knees, holding a phone. Lisa starts speaking from the other side and realizes Danny is there with Amy. Then, out of nowhere, the Cat Man (Rich Fulcher) gets out of his apartment to announce that his oldest cat died. Amidst this, Danny tries to make Amy realize that Lisa does not always call like that.

Still Up (Season 1) Episode 7 “The Horse” Ending Explained:

What happens when Veggie shows up at Danny’s apartment?

After her call with Danny ends, Lisa decides to take the cat with her and walk up to his house. By that time, Veggie reaches Danny’s apartment to check if Lisa is there. He hands over a bottle of wine and walks inside. Veggie notices a lipstick and Danny instantly mentions his girlfriend, Amy, to clear Veggie’s doubts about him and Lisa. While beating around the bush, Veggie offers to help with his bathroom tiling. Eventually, he opens up about his relationship with Lisa and how he feels he has no access to a part of Lisa that Danny has. Danny mentions that Lisa believed Veggie was going to propose to her.

While working out to clear up his mind, Veggie confesses his fear – ‘Lisa does not like him anymore.’ Suddenly, he decides to walk out of the apartment. But before Veggie leaves, Danny talks about The Velvet Underground’s song – I’ll Be Your Mirror. He shares some random trivia and then gets to the point. He opens up about his fear and what that song means to him beyond its lyrics. To make Veggie understand what he said, he points out all the positives about Veggie that will make Lisa want to stay with him. In short, she needs to feel like his mirror in that scenario.

Do Lisa & Veggie decide to break up?

Lisa walks with the horse model and the cat up to the building where Danny lives. Veggie, who had just left Danny’s apartment, bumps into her. We’ll have to wait for the season finale to know what happens to their relationship.
