“T.PBON,” or “Time Patrol Bon,” tells the story of a team that saves people’s lives from unfortunate deaths. However, there is a catch: they are not allowed to change the fate of anyone prominent in history. These agents can travel to the past or into the future. On one such mission, Agent Ream is in Bon’s time zone. Bon gets entangled, and his fate is sealed. He is to work as an apprentice with the Time Patrol agents and go on missions – some heart-warming and others dangerous – to save lives.

T.PBON (Season 1) Episode 1 “I Won’t Be Erased” Recap:
The anime opens with our lead, Bon, sulking about an old felled Cedar tree. Bon’s school has organized this trip for them, and his friends come running to him, and they discuss the cedar tree. One of Bon’s friends says the tree has an 800-year-old history, and Bon is fascinated. The next day, Bon barely manages to reach school on time. It’s also the day exam results are revealed, and Bon has scored average. Bon is average at everything he does and is quite content about it.
Bon witnesses strange occurrences
Eager for the clock to hit 5 pm, Bon notices that the day and night pass by in a blur, seemingly within a minute. Feeling overwhelmed, Bon decides to take a walk to clear his head. A strange yellow jellyfish-like creature follows and talks to Bon, making him uneasy. Suddenly, he hears a dog barking. Intrigued, Bon investigates the commotion and witnesses a woman falling from the sky and landing right on him! Bon is weirded out and decides to spend time with his friend Tetsuo.
Bon cautiously presents his strange encounters to Tetsuo but in a hypothetical way. As expected, Tetsuo thinks Bon is sick. To make matters worse, Tetsuo reveals he scored a 0 on his exams and behaves frantically, leading him to fall off the balcony. In a shocking turn of events, time stands still, and the same woman and yellow creature appear to save Tetsuo. Completely shaken, Bon blames studying hard for this bizarre experience.
Bon travels back in time
Seeking solace, Bon returns to the felled cedar tree and stumbles upon a strange vehicle. Hesitantly, he climbs in and realizes he’s no longer in his town. Adding to the chaos, Bon witnesses a killing by a strange man. Just as the odd man is about to strike Bon, time comes to a standstill. Thankfully, the woman and the yellow creature rescue him, and the creature demands the return of his time boat (the weird vehicle). Bon rides a spare time boat with Ream (the strange woman). During the journey, Bon catches a glimpse of the Kamakura period. The team finds the original time boat, and realizing the problem, Ream fixes the malfunctioning time boat. Finally, Ream introduces herself, and the yellow creature is called Buyoyon. They are from the Time Patrol, a team formed to save people from unfortunate deaths; however, they cannot save important people from history.
Bon refuses to be erased from the world
Much to Bon’s dismay, Ream explains that Time Patrol’s existence must be kept a secret. She admits that due to the situation and the malfunctioning time boat, she forgot to erase Bon’s memories. Unfortunately, another man from Time Patrol arrives and brings bad news to Bon. Bon must be erased from existence, which means the team has to go back in time and ensure Bon’s parents never meet and Bon is not born. This makes Bon furious, and he jumps on Ream’s time boat, making them return to the dinosaur world. Bon saves Ream from being eaten alive.
The next thing Bon knows, he wakes up on the felled cedar tree and rushes home to find his mother still there. There is a pause in time again. Ream and the team arrive and inform him that after looking into the future, they realize he will be an important person in history. Hence, they cannot erase him. Instead, Bon will join Time Patrol as a new agent.
T.PBON (Season 1) Episode Episode 2 “T.P. Apprentice” Recap:
Picking right where we left off, Bon is still reeling from the news of being an agent. He dreamt of being a recognized genius, yet here he was, extremely late for school. To his surprise, he runs inside the school and finds someone sitting at his desk. The person throws a paper for him and asks Bon to wait in the washroom. Confused and apprehensive, Bon waits. Suddenly, another Bon materializes, startling the first Bon. The second Bon sends the first one back to class.
Bon has to learn the rules of Time Patrol
After school, Bon is saddened as he cannot find Ream or Buyoyon. The sadness does not last long as Buyoyon and Ream show up and teach Bon some basics and inform him he is only an apprentice. Ream gives Bon the forgetter and asks him to ensure that it is kept on whenever they are on a mission, as that is the way to make people forget about the time patrol. Ream, a student from the future herself, heads off to finish her homework. Buyoyon, clearly not amused by Bon’s earlier comparison to a mutant jellyfish, throws a mountain of books at him, demanding he memorize every detail. Thankfully, Ream intervenes, showing Bon a mechanism on the time boat that aids memory absorption.
Bon’s first mission
Bon is excited for his first mission and is thrilled to ride the time boat. They head back to 1947, just two years after the devastating World War II, to rescue Mrs. Yamada. Upon arrival, they’re met with heavy rain and a flood-prone area due to rising sea levels. One of the officers visits Mrs. Yamada to take her to a shelter, but Mrs. Yamada is adamant about staying back to wait for her son. Bon’s first lesson: Time Patrol agents can only offer natural assistance, avoiding physical force.
The team decides to fly Taro (Mrs. Yamada’s son) close to her. Bon uses a time controller for the first time to lock the time, and he is afraid. They reach Mrs. Yamada’s house, only to find it submerged. Thankfully, they locate her clinging to a tree. They fly Mrs. Yamada close to her son, Taro. The mother-son duo reunite and embrace. Exhausted but exhilarated, Bon returns home, only to face his mother’s wrath for his incomplete homework.
T.PBON (Season 1) Episode 3 “The Secret of the Pyramid” Recap:
The episode begins with Bon’s friend Yoko missing him as Bon does not often hang out with his friends. Bon almost lets the beans spill about the Time Patrol, and Yoko discovers that he has secrets from her. Yoko invites Bon to her house as her uncle has interesting stories about Egypt. Bon is eager to go, but a mission interrupts his plans. The team travels back to 2592 BC, Ancient Egypt, to save Thoth, a key figure in building the first pyramid.
Attempt to save Thoth
The team travels and reaches Luxor, where the Valley Of Kings will eventually be built. The team’s mission is to save Thoth from being buried alive. Ream, Bon, and Buyoyon are way back in the past before the pyramid’s construction begins to attempt to stop Thoth and his father. They witness Sneferu and Thoth approaching the capital. Ream projects a hologram of Goddess Hathor, warning them to abandon the project. However, Sneferu apologizes to the Goddess and accepts any punishment, but Ream is determined to proceed.
Sneferu meets with Master Imhotep and tells him about the plans to make the King’s tomb impenetrable, and the information is confidential. Ream and team travel ahead of time, and the pyramid is being constructed quickly. In happier times, Thoth introduces his girlfriend to his father. Sneferu’s health is deteriorating, and his last wish is for Thoth to stay away from the pyramid’s construction once he dies. However, Thoth gets word from Imhotep that his security will be taken care of in exchange for the pyramid’s completion. Ream attempts again to stop Thoth with the Hathor hologram, but Thoth remains firm and continues the project.
Saving Thoth
Ream clashes with Buyoyon, who abandons the mission. Ream and Bon encounter thugs who steal their equipment and imprison them. The pyramid is completed during their confinement, the King dies, and Thoth takes Imhotep to the chambers. Imhotep betrays Thoth, burying him alive. One of the thugs allows Ream and Bon to escape, but he asks them to travel in their time boat. This man’s knowledge takes aback Ream, but sensing Ream and Bon’s danger, Buyoyon comes to their rescue.
The team takes the time boat and enters the pyramid to locate Thoth. They find him and realize he is losing consciousness soon because of the lack of oxygen. Bon is dizzy and falls for the same reason. Thinking quickly, Ream travels 400 years into the future, allowing Thoth to walk free. Team Ream encounters the Time Patrol’s crime investigation unit, searching for a time-traveling man. The leader is none other than the thug who offered them escape. Ream returns Bon to his time for Yoko’s uncle’s talk about Egypt.
T.PBON (Season 1) Episode 4 “An Ancient Man Crossed the Pacific” Recap:
The episode begins with a fun way for Bon’s friends to cheer him up as Bon is scolded by their teacher at school. Bon is still upset but has good news awaiting him. He sits down to finish his homework, and he can hear Ream from her bedroom in the future. Bon has been promoted to an associate agent in Time Patrol. In his excitement, Bon decides to use the forgetter and brag about it to his friends. Unfortunately, his excitement clouds his judgment, and things go awry. Ream catches him red-handed and scolds him for his recklessness. A new mission interrupts their bickering.
Saving Toge
The team returns to 800 BC Mindanao to save Toge, a man stuck in the ocean during a storm. Determined to redeem himself, Bon requests to lead the mission, and Ream agrees. The storm closes in on Toge. Utilizing the same technique used in the pyramids, Bon fast-forwards time, creating a protective time field around the canoe. Arriving in the near future, they encounter their first hurdle: a famished Toge. Bon requests fish from headquarters for a natural food source. Dehydration becomes the next challenge. Bon resorts to artificial rain to help Toge. However, Toge is perpetually carried away by the currents. Diving underwater, Bon guides Toge towards an island.
Toge tries to survive on the island
Elated by getting Toge to the island, the team stays back to watch him. Toge’s fight for survival starts with hunger as his first hurdle. He finds shelter in a cave and builds a fire but weakens from lack of food. Bon wants to help, but Ream stresses minimal interference. The next morning, they see a crazed Toge, driven by hunger, chasing anything edible. Bon spots a rice field, and Ream realizes there’s a village nearby. They strategize to guide Toge towards it. Meanwhile, Toge stumbles upon Buyoyon and chases him. The pursuit is halted when he sees children under attack by a wild bear. Without hesitation, Toge jumps in and defeats the beast.
The grateful children lead the villagers to Toge, who is then rescued. Bon, ecstatic about the successful mission, grabs a strange fruit to celebrate. Ream scolds him, highlighting the inevitable ripple effects of their actions. She whisks him to a future where his seemingly insignificant act of kicking a rock triggers a chain reaction, ultimately leading him to save a child who will make future discoveries crucial to humanity’s survival. Returning home, Bon notices his neighborhood fruit trees are missing. His mother calls him to try an exotic fruit, and to his surprise, it’s the very same one he encountered in the past.
T.PBON (Season 1) Episode 5 “Witch Hunt” Recap:
It’s an ordinary day in Bon’s life, hanging out with friends. Bon is troublesome as usual, as he burns a cloth while making tea and, in turn, burns his hand. Buyoyon comes to the rescue and stops the fire. Meanwhile, Ream, with her time-rewinding abilities, intervenes to prevent the tea-making incident from ever happening. Ream also has a new mission: traveling back in time to Europe to save a woman named Celine, falsely accused of witchcraft and facing execution.
Rumors about Celine
The team reaches the time period and is immediately shot with arrows by a poacher named Fernand. Celine has a boyfriend named Jean, who will leave her alone for a while. Additionally, Celine’s grandfather, known for his special healing abilities, passed away recently. He has passed on the knowledge to Celine. Celine helps the villagers with their health conditions. Ironically, Ream and Bon were among those who benefitted from Celine’s care, although they are still unaware of her true identity. Ream and Bon’s devices are not working, nor have they recovered enough to move.
Despite knowing Celine has a boyfriend, Fernand approaches her in the forest and forces his feelings upon Celine. Luckily, her cat saves her, and she runs home. She is friendly with all the animals in the forest, so a bear scares Fernand. Enraged by his failed attempt and fuelled by his envy, Fernand resorted to a despicable act: spreading rumors that Celine is a witch. These malicious whispers quickly became widespread gossip, leading to Celine’s arrest. Celine is brought to trial.
How will Celine be saved?
Ream and Bon finally learn about Celine’s identity when they overhear someone mentioning her name. Realizing the situation’s urgency, Bon, with Buyoyon’s help, returns to their time machine to gather more information. Celine is arrested and is tortured, but she denies being a witch until she can take no more. It is time for her to be burned alive. With time running out, Ream and her team infiltrate Jean’s dreams, showing him a terrifying vision of Celine’s imminent execution. Jolted awake by the nightmarish premonition, Jean jumps on his horse and races to save Celine. Ream uses her powers to stop time for those moving towards arresting Celine and gives speed to Jean. Jean professes his love for Celine and takes her with him. After another successful mission, Bon returns to his ordinary life.
T.PBON (Season 1) Episode 6 “The Mountain of the Roaring White Dragon” Recap:
The episode begins with a troublesome Bon playing a prank on his friends, dressing up as a monkey. The group needed to develop an idea for a performance at the fair, and Bon suggested a skit called A Journey to the West. However, each of Bon’s friends has ideas of their own. This time, Bon’s mission is directly tied to the chosen skit. The team needs to prevent a tragedy – the death of a young boy named Chamuku in a mountain accident. They travel back in time to 628 AD, landing in the Tian Shan Mountains, the location of the fateful climb.
Why does Chamuku climb the mountain?
The team arrives a few days before Chamuku’s planned ascent to understand the circumstances leading to the accident. Chamuku’s father was a traveler and is now only a shepherd. Chamuku sees the monk from Tang planning a journey up the mountains and gathering people to join him. Chamuku’s desire to follow in his father’s footsteps clashes with his father’s warnings. Chamuku’s father describes the tragedy he had to withstand during his journey when he was the sole survivor, and all his comrades died of either lack of food and water or natural disasters along the way.
Undeterred by his father’s cautionary tale, Chamuku remains determined to explore the world. Bon decides to meet the monk and convince him not to take Chamuku with him. Surprisingly, the monk readily agrees, leading the team to believe their mission is successful. Unfortunately for Bon, their celebration is short-lived. Headquarters orders them to conduct a follow-up investigation.
The Legend of Journey to the West
The team is now on the day of departure and finds Chamuku to be one of the people in the crowd. Given the extended nature of the mission, Time Patrol equips the team with special pills to prevent rapid aging. Ream uses the hologram technique, and a white dragon emerges, but the monk is brave and stands up to it. Their first attempt at stopping the journey fails. Bon learns he is the monk referred to in the Journey to the West story who traveled to India and brought back many ancient Buddhist texts. The journey becomes increasingly risky as heavy snowfall blankets the mountain. One of the travelers loses his footing and falls. Ream, receiving authorization from headquarters, saves the man’s life. Bon gives costumes from Journey to the West to Ream and wears one himself for warmth.
Disaster strikes in the form of an avalanche. According to future data, only the monk and a handful of others will survive. Chamuku is stuck as he stops himself from running to help another man who is injured. Once again, Ream gets permission from headquarters to save every single man. Bon uses the rewind power to return the avalanche and saves the entire troop. However, in the heat of the moment, Ream forgets to turn on the forgetter. With Bon and Ream now clad in their monkey and pig costumes, the seeds of the legendary Journey to the West are sown. Bon is back home, and his friends have decided to perform the skit for the fair.
T.PBON (Season 1) Episode 7 “The Dark Labyrinth” Recap:
The episode starts with Bon in trouble again, and this time because of not maintaining his time boat. Ream and Buyoyon come to his rescue, as always. The team’s next mission is in 1500 BC in The Aegean Sea. Their goal is to save Menesthes and Creusa from a human sacrifice to a Minotaur. Menesthes and Creusa come from noble families who have volunteered to sacrifice themselves to protect Athens from Crete, led by King Minos.
Bon and Ream fight the Minotaur
The Athenian royalty helped King Minos by presenting Menesthes and Creusa as sacrifices. The sacrificial ceremony is set for the Grand Festival day. While strategizing their rescue plan, Bon’s time boat starts malfunctioning again. The team reaches the capital for a break. Menesthes embraces the luxurious life, but Creusa clings to the hope of survival. Ream uses the old trick in the book, a hologram, to project the Goddess of Athens, Pallas Athena, to talk to King Minos. King Minos is smart and realizes there are intruders. Ream and Bon get on their boats and leave, but both boats malfunction. Ream manages to fix her time boat, but some functions are not working; hence, they cannot get inside the labyrinth.
Menesthes and Creusa are taken on a palanquin inside the labyrinth on the day of the sacrifice. Soon, a smart Ream freezes the time, allowing Bon and Ream to take their place. Bon, Ream, and Buyoyon are inside the labyrinth. They come face to face with the Minotaur and manage to light the moss on fire. Nevertheless, the Minotaur attacks and kills Bon, and Ream is also killed. Buyoyon manages to rewind time, and Bon and Ream are alive again. The Minotaur charges at them again, but Bon’s time boat rescues them. The team bids farewell to Menesthes and Creusa. Bon’s time boat malfunctions again, and he crashes inside his room.
T.PBON (Season 1) Episode 8 “The Beautiful Girl on the Battlefield” Recap:
The episode begins with Bon slacking on his schoolwork. Yoko catches up to him and joins him for an interview with Akiko Shikishima. Akiko, now an English teacher, lived through the war. She is engaged to a soldier, and the time stops when Yoko is about to finish the story. Ream and Buyoyon whisk Bon away for a mission. This mission has something to do with Akiko. The target day is May 25th, 1945, in Okinawa, and the target person is Ensign Sakuragi from the Imperial Japanese Navy.
Love saves Ensign Sakuragi
The team arrives on the day of the attack but is immediately forced into action. The kamikaze attacks have already begun. Buyoyon locates Ensign Sakuragi and heads toward the mountain with his plane in flames. Ream uses the time lock, and Ensign Sakuragi jumps off the plane. Ream then uses speed-slowing power to land safely. However, the team’s job is far from done. Ensign Sakuragi, filled with despair, prefers to die with honor rather than be captured by the Americans. Sakuragi decides to take his own life, but the team intervenes. The team then tries to talk to Sakuragi, but he misunderstands them as the enemy. Ream has no choice but to throw a unique device that tracks Sakuragi.
The device can read the mind, and Sakuragi thinks of Akiko. Bon recognizes the name and informs his team about Akiko Sakuragi. They go to the Bon’s time to find clues about Akiko and Sakuragi’s love. Ream leaves another unique device near Akiko. Both the devices connect, and Akiko and Sakuragi converse. All this unfolds as Sakuragi, fuelled by desperation, decides to attack the Americans on his own. Thankfully, Ream has placed a time lock on him, preventing him from following through. Sakuragi decides to live. Unfortunately, the Americans open fire with a warning shot. Despite the firing, Sakuragi raises a white flag and surrenders.
Back in the present, Bon returns to find Akiko, who politely declines to help him with his English homework as her husband is returning home with their granddaughter. Bon and Yoko leave. Yoko shares with Bon that Sakuragi dreamt of a beautiful girl on the battlefield who saved him from death. At that moment, Bon realizes they’ve forgotten to use the forgetter yet again.
T.PBON (Season 1) Episode 9 “Riding a Dinosaur on Vacation” Recap:
The episode begins with Bon feeling upset as he cannot go on a vacation that summer. All his friends bragged about exotic trips while he was home. Ream comforts and gives Bon exciting news. The Time Patrol agents can go on vacation once a year, and she has a special place in mind to take Bon. Buyoyon knows the location and decides to skip it as he feels the place is barbaric.
Adventure on vacation
Ream brings Bon to North America to the late Jurassic World, around 150 million years ago. They set up an aerial tent with a one-sided window to look outside. Ream suggests they go for a swim and prep Bon with special lotion, allowing them to breathe underwater and explore the vibrant corals and the terrifying Predator X. Subsequently, Ream prepares a nice dinner for both of them, but Bon is more interested in seeing dinosaurs. Ream promises to take him to watch an Apatosaurus herd the next morning.
Ream and Bon notice something similar to a flame at night and make their way to the location. Turns out it is an inter-dimensional tear. Ream reports it back to the headquarters to send a team to investigate. The following morning, Bon is eager for the Apatosaurus, but as he climbs down from the tent, a menacing Allosaurus stands in his path! Thankfully, Ream uses a handy device to scare it away. Now, the real adventure begins! Ream and Bon mount a Ceratosaurs and embark on a thrilling ride to witness the Apatosaurus herd. Suddenly, one of the Apatosaurus is shot, and it turns out it is a poacher who has traveled in time to kill extinct animals.
On a mission on vacation
Ream and Bon hurry back only to see the dinosaurs flee. They return to their tent and see a Juramaia (a mouse). Ream tells him about a theory that this particular animal is the reason mammals, including humans, exist. Unfortunately, the poacher shoots Juramaia and is ready to kill Ream and Bon. Just as things look bleak, Will, a Time Patrol Crime Investigator, and Buyoyon swoop in, apprehending the poacher and informing them that the same poacher also caused the inter-dimensional tear. Bon is back home from the vacation and sees his friends showing off pictures from their vacations. He unintentionally says he wished he had photographed himself with an Apatosaurus.
T.PBON (Season 1) Episode 10 “Gunfight near the O.K Corral” Recap:
The episode begins with Tetsuo and Bon playing with plastic guns. Bon wins the fight, and Tetsuo compliments him, saying he would have been an outstanding gunslinger in the Wild West. Bon reaches home wondering if he is born in the wrong era as he would have loved to be a gunslinger in the Wild West. Ream hears Bon’s disappointment and tells him their next mission is to go to the Wild West. Unfortunately, they don’t know much about the target for this mission, including the name or the exact location. They go back in time to 1881 AD to Tombstone, USA.
Locating the target
Upon their arrival at Tombstone, Ream subtly alters Bon’s appearance to blend in. Ream and Bon change into the attire of that era. The team reaches their room and removes all their gear to avoid attracting attention. Bon, resembling their target in a headquarters video, accidentally scares a man who recognizes him. Ream has provided Bon with a gun that can knock the opponent unconscious for a while.
The man who was scared of Bon informs his gang about the encounter. Kirk wants to take on Bon for a gunfight. Buyoyun reveals a crucial detail to Ream: their target is being hunted for a bounty and has a criminal past. Meanwhile, a showdown erupts between Bon and Kirk, ending with Kirk unconscious and Bon under arrest by the Sheriff. Ream gets more information about the real target.
Meeting Jim
Ream and Buyoyon find the real target, Jim. Buyoyon rescues Bon, and Ream talks to Jim. Jim admits to having been wild in his teenage years, but he was framed for a crime he didn’t commit. He wants to take down Morgan before he leaves everything behind. Ream, re-joining Bon and Buyoyun, relays Jim’s story. The truth is clear—Jim isn’t a criminal, so their mission is to protect him.
Bon the gunslinger
Based on the headquarters footage, Bon is supposed to lure Morgan into a gunfight. Bon sets off, unaware of Ream’s grave mistake – she’d left their time-locking device back at the hotel! Buyoyun, realizing the danger, urges Bon to stall Morgan. The gang shoots at Bon, and thankfully, Ream arrives at the right moment to stop the time. Ream gives Bon the power of speed to fight the men. Bon succeeds, and they leave Morgan at the location for Jim to find. Jim finds Morgan and is surprised. Bon is back home and does not want to play with toy guns.
T.PBON (Season 1) Episode 11 “The Marathon Battle” Recap:
The episode begins with Bon running to practice for the upcoming school marathon. Bon is tired and rests, but he is interrupted by Ream and Buyoyon. This time, they’re hurtled back to 490 BC, right into the heart of the Marathon battle between Athens and Persia. Their objective is to save as many lives as possible amidst the chaos. The team meets a messenger called Pheidippides, who runs to inform the Athens army that they won’t receive reinforcement from Sparta.
Saving the soldiers on the battlefield
Pheidippides is tired, and the team helps him rest while Bon eavesdrops on Athens’s battle strategy. The army is moving forward with the battle despite the small numbers. The battle begins, and Ream uses slow-motion power to help Ream and Bon save as many Athenians as possible. Before administering their special healing injections, they must confirm if the injured soldier plays a pivotal role in history. In the limited time they have, Ream and Bon manage to save numerous lives. Bon, worn out from exertion, takes a nap while Ream enjoys a swim.
Bon, the marathon runner
Bon’s nap time is disturbed because of Pheidippides. He needs to run to inform the people of Athens about their victory over Persia. Despite Pheidippides’ evident pain, Bon, unaware of his historical significance, uses his gun to render him unconscious. In place of Pheidippides, Bon has to be the messenger. Bon begins running, but he is met with many obstacles. Bon starts to question the meaning of life as he reaches his breaking point. However, with Ream and Buyoyon’s help, he finishes the marathon and delivers the message to the people of Athens.
Just as history dictates, Eukles dies from a heart attack. After a long time, Bon wakes up and is informed by Ream and Buyoyon that his burial took place with honor, and it took a long time for them to retrieve him from the grave. Ream adds a surprising detail: Bon’s path mirrored the route used by marathon runners in the first Olympic Games. Bon is back home but cannot catch a break as he must be in school.
T.PBON (Season 1) Episode 12 “Hyperspace Castaway” Recap:
The final episode begins with Bon’s friends telling horror stories. Bon’s walk home is terrifying as he is startled even by a dog’s bark. Ream is waiting for Bon, but she is dejected. Their next mission is risky as they need to save a time tripper. They are unsure about the period or location to find the man as time trippers are known to be seen in different places. Their target is Ambrose Bierce, a former writer and now a time tripper. They are on their way to Ambrose’s last location, but a time vortex appears, which they can’t escape and are swallowed by it.
However, they land on a deserted, abandoned land that the headquarters can’t handle as it is way into the future. Ream reaches out to the headquarters, but there is no answer. They try to hop on their boats and travel to their time, but they land on the same deserted land. To make matters worse, they watch themselves go through the same ordeal. The team sets up a tent, hoping to find clues the next morning. But fate has other plans. An earthquake destroys Bon’s boat, and Ream’s is sucked underground. With no other choice, they embark on a journey by foot.
T.PBON (Season 1) Episode 12 “Hyperspace Castaway” Ending, Explained:
Will Bon be a permanent agent in Time Patrol?
The troubles are not over yet, and they encounter a sandstorm. They are being carried away by it until a man helps them out. It turns out the man is their target, Ambrose Bierce. Ambrose takes them to the underground shelter with advanced technology, which has been abandoned. Climbing back to the surface, they find a world withered by time: destroyed buildings filled with overgrown strange plants. But a glimmer of hope emerges with the arrival of a futuristic machine, and out steps a Time Patrol agent from the distant future. The agent explains that the civilization has chosen to move to different galaxies, and hence, in this time period, everything is abandoned.
However, agents like himself still work in the future as some time trippers and others find themselves this distant into the future. The agent offers to return the group to their times. However, Ambrose, his curiosity piqued, expresses a desire to explore this far-flung future. Bon and Ream return to their present. Ream reveals some unhappy news: this is their final mission together as she’s transferring to the anomaly team. For Bon, it’s a bittersweet moment. He’s been officially promoted to a Time Patrol agent, but he’ll miss his adventure partner. Bon and Ream go on so many adventures together that they seem the perfect duo.
The ending suggests that if there is a second season, we will see Bon as the hero taking charge of all the missions. Buyoyon may work with Ream, and Bon may find another creature to join him on his missions. It is also possible that their paths will cross again. Bon will lead, train an apprentice, and form a wonderful team. The series, however, ends with Bon going from an average human being to a leader because of Time Patrol.
