Watch the Official Trailer for Huda’s Salon: Palestinian writer and director, Hany Abu-Assad turned to filmmaking after working as an airplane engineer in The Netherlands. He has directed several award-winning films which include Nazareth 2000 (2001), Rana’s Wedding (2003), Ford Transit (2003), Paradise Now (2005), Omar (2013), The Idol (2015), and The Mountain Between Us (2017). Nominated twice for an Academy Award, Hany Abu-Assad is also the winner of the Golden Globe, Felix Award, Berlin Blue Angel Award, Independent Spirit Award, Amnesty International Film Prize, Golden Calf, and the Cannes Film Festival Special Jury Prize.

His upcoming film is a political thriller Huda’s Salon is about Nadia, a young mother married to a jealous man, who goes to Huda’s salon in Bethlehem. But this ordinary visit turns sour when Huda, after having put Nadia in a shameful situation, blackmails her to have her work for the secret service of the occupiers, and thus betray her people.

Huda’s Salon is set to release on March 4, 2022.
