“Red Swan” episodes 5 and 6 delve deeper into Oh Wansoo’s past and her complicated relationship with her mother. After Oh Wansoo faces a tragedy, Mi-ran still pushes her around to fulfill her desires. Meanwhile, Do-yoo stands firmly by Oh Wansoo’s side during such a difficult time. At the same time, Do-yoo is determined to find Juhyuk’s killer and, in the process, confronts Mr. Park and puts his life in danger. An attack on Oh Wansoo and Do-yoo sets a precedent for Oh Wansoo to seek revenge. In her revenge plans, Do-yoo plays an important role, and in the end, Mr. Oh and Mi-ran outsmart Oh Wansoo.

Red Swan Episode 5 Recap:
The episode begins with a flashback in 1998 when Oh Wansoo is a student. Some thugs come to Oh Wansoo’s house looking for her mother (Shim Chunhee), who is hiding from the thugs. When Shim Chunhee does not leave her hiding spot, the thugs hit Oh Wansoo. As soon as the thugs leave, Shim Chuhnee shows Oh Wansoo tickets to the USA. In the present, Oh Wansoo is in the psychiatric facility, and Shim Chuhnee wakes up but does not recognize Oh Wansoo. Instead, Shim Chuhnee calls Oh Wansoo a madam and asks her to tell her daughter that she is sorry for spending all her money on gambling. Before Oh Wansoo can speak, Shim Chuhnee passes away.
Where do Oh Wansoo and Do-yoo go?
Meanwhile, Mi-ran has ordered Oh Wansoo’s brother to keep the funeral small. She asks Oh Wansoo to attend a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to push COSMOS Cosmetics ahead and fund the duty-free shop. The day of the meeting is during the funeral. Mi-ran makes sure Oh Wansoo does not attend her mother’s funeral. After the meeting, Oh Wansoo takes Do-yoo and visits her childhood house along with her mother’s ashes. Before heading there, Oh Wansoo turns her phone off. Do-yoo also does the same and switches off the GPS tracker so nobody can know where they have gone.
When they arrive at the location, someone secretly takes pictures and continues to do so throughout the time Oh Wansoo and Do-yoo are there. At the house, Oh Wansoo forgives her mother. Do-yoo holds her close so that Oh Wansoo can cry. Later, Oh Wansoo and Do-yoo spread the ashes into the sea. At the same time, everyone in the Grand Palace is frantic as Oh Wansoo is missing. But Mi-ran receives images of Oh Wansoo and Do-yoo being close. When they arrive at the Grand Palace, Yong Guk hits Do-yoo and wants to fire him. Annoyed with Yong Guk, Mi-ran slaps him, asking if he doubts that Oh Wansoo is cheating on Yong Guk since he sleeps around with others. However, Mi-ran asks Mr. Park to send an apology to Do-yoo from Yong Guk and make sure he is not fired.
Will Do-yoo confront Mr. Park?
Meanwhile, Oh Wansoo meets Do-yoo in his room. He constantly yells at her for hurting herself. Furthermore, Do-yoo asks Oh Wansoo to be his woman, and Oh Wansoo asks for proof of his claims so that she can fully trust him. So, Do-yoo shows Oh Wansoo the video. Oh Wansoo asks him to continue finding evidence. When Oh Wansoo is in the room, Mr. Park comes in and informs Do-yoo about the apology. Now, Oh Wansoo makes up a lie that she received another threat from ISIS. After Oh Wansoo leaves, Mr. Park yells at Do-yoo for being irresponsible. Until now, Do-yoo has been patient. Now Do-yoo yells back at Mr. Park, saying Oh Wansoo didn’t get a chance to go to her mother’s funeral, so he didn’t have a choice, and although he is a bodyguard, he is also a human being.
Finding evidence is Do-yoo’s priority, so he visits the casino Juhyuk had mentioned and tries to meet the boss, saying he is from Hwain. When Do-yoo is not allowed inside, he returns. But the boss sends the CCTV footage to Mr. Park, who is annoyed. The next day, Oh Wansoo comes up with a plan to disrupt Mi-ran’s plans, and Do-yoo is called into Mr. Park’s office. In the office, Do-yoo reveals all he knows about Chairman Kim Duo’s death, Mr. Park exchanging money at the casino in Manila. Regarding this, Mr. Park says that Chairman Kim Duo died while having intercourse. That’s why they had to move him into the Grand Palace and said he died of a heart attack. Furthermore, Mr. Park says the money exchange is because he is laundering money for the Hwain Group.
Is there an attack on Oh Wansoo and Do-yoo?
That night, Do-yoo meets Oh Wansoo and tells her that he has put himself as bait. So, if Mr. Park or anyone from the Hwain Group is involved, they will try to kill him, and they can gather evidence. In her room, Oh Wansoo can’t stop thinking about Do-yoo. The next day, Oh Wansoo does a nationwide commercial for a cosmetics brand, quickly selling the product off the shelves. This stunt infuriates Mi-ran, Yongmin, and his wife as COSMOS Cosmetics released a new product the same day, hindering the deal with the Chinese. However, Oh Wansoo feigns ignorance and says she had to do the commercial to send vaccines to Africa. Meanwhile, Mi-ran tells Yong Guk that the only way Oh Wansoo will be out of the family is by death, implying the same way Yong Guk’s ex-fiancée had died.
Despite the many articles mentioning the rift between Oh Wansoo and Mi-ran’s family, Oh Wansoo continues with her schedule as she visits the kids in her welfare center and has a meal with them. On the way from the welfare center, the driver loses control as an animal passes by, and Do-yoo takes over driving the car. As Do-yoo drives, someone is following the car with a drone, and many drones appear. Do-yoo notices it and, in time, dodges them one after the other. As the drones hit the ground, they explode.
Red Swan Episode 6 Recap:
The episode continues with drones following the car. One of the drones makes contact, and the car flies on impact. The killer turns out to be Lee Jin, one of the bodyguards who is working on orders and makes sure that Do-yoo and Oh Wansoo are dead/injured before leaving the scene. Luckily, Do-yoo wakes up and rescues Oh Wansoo. But in the process, the car explodes, hurting Do-yoo. All of them are in the hospital, and Do-yoo and the other bodyguard’s surgery has gone well. At the hospital, Lee Jin tries to hurt Do-yoo. But once she fails, she calls someone and says the mission has failed.
Meanwhile, at the Grand Palace, Mr. Oh pays the Commissioner General to ensure he does not find the killer. At the same time, Do-yoo secured CCTV footage of the crime scene from one of his police buddies. Later in the hospital, Oh Wansoo tells Do-yoo she trusts him and asks him not to get in danger for her. At the Grand Palace, Mi-ran is more concerned about dealing with the Chinese than Oh Wansoo’s health. Now, Oh Wansoo wants revenge. She asks Hyun-soo for the NOW Foundation’s ledger, which contains information about the slush fund, but he refuses as he can go to jail.
Do-yoo confronts Mr. Park.
Meanwhile, Yong Guk sends Mr. Park on another errand to the casino. But Mr. Park does not know what the money is being used for. At the same time, Mr. Oh tries to convince Yongmin to take over the NOW Foundation. However, Yongmin is adamant about wanting an apology and cracking the deal with the Chinese. It also turns out Mi-ran is sleeping with Mr. Oh, and Yong Guk sees them enter Mr. Oh’s room. In a flashback, we learn that when Yong Guk was a child, he caught Mi-ran cheating on Kim Duo with Mr. Oh, and as a child or as an adult, he was not pleased with the arrangement.
Once Do-yoo is out of the hospital, Mr. Park visits and says he ran another errand for Yong Guk. Furthermore, Mr. Park enquires if the video Juhyuk left for Do-yoo is of the Chairman, and Do-yoo confirms. In addition, Do-yoo adds that Juhyuk was looking for Kim Duo’s murderer, and that got him killed. He knows the knife technique of the killer, and it matches that of Oh Wansoo’s killer as well. But Do-yoo refuses to share more details and swears that he will avenge Juhyuk. That same night, Oh Wansoo asks Do-yoo to enter Mr. Oh’s annex and get NOW Foundation’s leger as she wants a fighting chance.
Red Swan Episode 6 Ending Explained:
Can Do-yoo steal the NOW Foundation’s ledger?
The first thing Do-yoo does is check the CCTV cameras and check out Mr. Oh’s annex. At the door, a dog guards the annex, and Lee Jin looks at Do-yoo snooping around until Mr. Park calls out to her. Later, Do-yoo realizes he needs Mr. Oh’s fingerprints to open the door. He uses the glasses from the kitchen to get his fingerprint. After that, Do-yoo sneaks into the annex and checks out the place but does not find the NOW Foundation ledgers. However, Do-yoo finds a safe, but it needs a passcode, and Do-yoo can’t break. So, Do-yoo installs a tiny camera on the table clock to see the passcode when Mr. Oh punches them in.
In the meantime, Lee Jin sees Do-yoo in Mr. Oh’s annex and informs Mr. Oh, who asks her to visit the NOW Foundation and update him on everything. As Do-yoo leaves the house, he finds the NOW Foundation ledgers, takes them, and rushes to Oh Wansoo. Hurriedly, Mr. Oh checks all the belongings and realizes the NOW Foundation ledgers are missing. At the NOW Foundation, Do-yoo insists that he holds on to the ledgers as it is dangerous. As Do-yoo leaves, people from the prosecutor’s office arrive with a search and seizure warrant and arrest Hyun-soo. The prosecutors take Do-yoo and Oh Wansoo by surprise.
These two episodes had many more twists and turns. As Do-yoo had predicted, his life was also in danger. However, the killer’s identity is revealed, and it is Lee Jin. Until Do-yoo or Oh Wansoo can figure that out, Lee Jin, Mi-ran, and Mr. Oh will be one step ahead in the game. It can be safely assumed that Mr. Oh and Mi-ran have called the prosecution to push their plans ahead faster and safeguard their slush funds. Since the ledgers for the slush funds are still safe, Mr. Oh and Mi-ran can relax. In the next few episodes, we will see both sides fight it off to get what they want, and hopefully, Chairman Kim Duo’s secret will be revealed soon.
