“Red Swan” season 1 culminates in a heart-pounding finale that ties together the intricate web of lies and power plays woven throughout the season. As Do-yoo edges closer to uncovering the truth behind Juhyuk’s tragic demise and the vicious attack on Oh Wansoo, a relentless pursuit of justice consumes her. Caught in a tempestuous emotional turmoil, Yong Guk’s love for Oh Wansoo deepens, only to be shattered by a betrayal from the unexpected. Meanwhile, Hyunsoo’s desperate gamble to illuminate the darkness puts his life on the line, while Mi-ran’s journey of self-discovery leads to a harsh confrontation with reality.

Red Swan Episode 9 Recap:
The episode begins with Do-yoo meeting with the commissioner general and expressing his involvement in Juhyuk’s death. However, the commissioner general is still interested in discovering how the slush funds from Switzerland will arrive in Korea so the right people can be put behind bars. Now, Oh Wansoo and Yong Guk fly to Switzerland to see the money left behind by the late Chairman Kim Duo. Seeing the money, Yong Guk is excited, and at the Grand Palace, Do-yoo suspects Lee Jin to be Juhyuk’s killer and is looking for evidence against her.
After the trip to Switzerland, Yong Guk, Mi-ran, and Yongmin meet. Yongmin wants his share of the money, but Yong Guk is adamant that the money belongs to the NOW Foundation and also tells Yongmin that he does not deserve any share of the money as he is not a part of the family. Furthermore, Yong Guk also mentions the murder of Kim Duo, scaring both Mi-ran and Yongmin.
Who killed Kim Duo?
Despite Kim Duo’s will stating his money should go to the NOW Foundation, Mi-ran wants to use it to launder money to help Yong Guk be the successor of the Hwain Group. After the annoying conversation, Yongmin meets Mr. Han and asks for a solution. Mr. Han asks Yongmin why he had killed Kim Duo. In a flashback, we see Kim Duo lying on the floor, bleeding from his head. Yongmin has a huge gold bar in his hand with blood on it.
At the right moment, Mr. Han arrives and asks Yongmin to take a vacation with his wife immediately. He cleans up the mess Yongmin has created. Yongmin demands an explanation from Mr. Han, puzzled by the sudden shift in his questioning. After all, hadn’t Mr. Han previously dismissed Yongmin’s involvement in Kim Duo’s death, attributing it to a fatal collapse? Now, Mi-ran has an idea to use Hyunsoo to embezzle money and be done with him so she can get enough money to fund Yong Guk.
What happens to Hyunsoo?
At the NOW Foundation, Do-yoo asks Oh Wansoo to be careful around Lee Jin as she could be attempting to kill Oh Wansoo, or it could also be Yongmin or Mr. Han. Furthermore, Hyunsoo wants to make a deal with Mr. Han before handing over the ledgers, and Do-yoo warns him of the dangers of the job.
Meanwhile, Yong Guk meets Junhee and tells him to decide who he wants to live with. Junhee already knows Yong Guk is his father. With a heavy heart, Junhee decides to stay with Tae-ra because she is lonely, and once he grows up, he will reunite with Yong Guk. On the other hand, Yongmin’s wife is annoyed at Yongmin because he has invested a lot of money in Hwain’s bio stock and is sure to take over Hwain.
The meeting is set between Mr. Han and Hyunsoo. Before handing over the ledgers, Hyunsoo calls Do-yoo so he can record the conversation and watches from nearby by recording footage. During the conversation, Hyunsoo asks about the plans to use the slush funds and Kim Duo’s death. But Mr. Han does not answer, takes the ledger, and leaves. As soon as Mr Han leaves, Lee Jin arrives and slits Hyunsoo’s throat. Do-yoo manages to attack Lee Jin but calls the emergency services for Hyunsoo. Elsewhere, Mr. Han calls the prosecution office to report something.
What does Hyunsoo leave for Do-yoo?
The next day, prosecution officers arrive at the Grand Palace to deliver a summons for Mi-ran, but Mr. Han is unreachable. At the hospital, Do-yoo hears the bad news that Hyunsoo is dead and meets Oh Wansoo to tell her the news. As usual, Do-yoo hugs Oh Wansoo, and Mr Han arrives at the Grand Palace.
Casual about the situation, Mr. Han asks Mi-ran to visit the prosecution office. As a distraction, he leaks rumors about Oh Wansoo and Do-yoo’s affair, making the reporter question if Oh Wansoo is involved in money embezzlement. After the summons, Mr. Han and Mi-ran spend some time drinking. Mi-ran realizes Mr. Han wants Yongmin to take over Hwain. But she laughs it off, saying a concubine’s son cannot take over the company.
Now, Yongmin’s wife wants a divorce as Yongmin has invested a lot more money. However, Yongmin says he received her father’s permission and shows pictures of her cheating on him. Realizing it is blackmail, Yongmin’s wife warns Yongmin that he has messed with the wrong person and he will pay the price. At the funeral, Hyunsoo’s wife gives Do-yoo a USB, which Do-yoo plants inside Mr. Han’s safe, and requests Hyunsoo’s wife to call the prosecution about it, saying the evidence is in Mr. Han’s safe.
Red Swan Episode 10 Recap:
The final episode opens with Mi-ran arrested for embezzlement. Meanwhile, Do-yoo has set a trap for Mr. Han as the prosecutors arrive with a search and seizure warrant to check Mr. Han’s house. When the prosecutors arrive, they take the safe along with the other documents in the house. Do-yoo notices Lee Jin worried and running away from the house. Seeing a worried Lee Jin, Do-yoo follows her and enters her room to find her luggage packed. Determined not to let Lee Jin go, Do-yoo fights her. As he punches her, he thinks about the people she has killed. Since Do-yoo has enough evidence against Lee Jin, he hands her to the police.
What does Mr. Han blackmail Mi-ran with?
Once Lee Jin is arrested, Mr. Han fears everything will get back to him. Therefore, he visits Mi-ran at the prosecution office. Before that, Do-yoo tells Mr. Han that he will ensure he pays the price for all the lost lives. After Yongmin killed Kim Duo, Mr. Han hid the gold bar and took it to Mi-ran. Now, Mi-ran realizes Mr. Han’s plans to let Yongmin take over the Hwain Group, and she is furious. Mr. Han, now a free man, forces Mi-ran to choose between taking the rap for the contracts on Oh Wansoo’s life or allowing Yongmin to face prison for killing Kim Duo, his true identity laid bare to the public.
Furthermore, Mi-ran understands why Mr. Han committed the crimes so he can get revenge on Mi-ran for not treating him well and always looking down upon him. On the other hand, Yong Guk offers to give Tae-ra money to leave him alone as he loves Oh Wansoo deeply even though she does not love him back.
Is Yong Guk dead?
Meanwhile, Ji-yeon (Yongmin’s wife) asks Yongmin to sign the divorce papers. But Yongmin tears the paper and leaves furiously. In anger, Yongmin arrives at the Grand Palace. He asks the staff to leave the house, picks up Yong Guk’s rifle, and heads to the main room. The butler, Byeon, tells Mr. Han about Yongmin’s behavior before leaving. Unbeknownst to her, Oh Wansoo leaves the house to visit the NOW Foundation. However, Yong Guk comes to the main hall. Yongmin is ready with his rifle and warns Yong Guk to give his share of the inheritance.
When Yong Guk sees Mr. Han in the hall as well, he humiliates them both, and Mr. Han decides to kill Yong Guk himself. It also seems like Yongmin is not ready to acknowledge that Mr Han is his father and still considers Kim Duo his father. Despite Mr. Han’s determination to kill Yong Guk, he fails as Yong Guk fights him. But Yongmin takes a shot and kills Yong Guk. Outside, hearing the gunfire, Oh Wansoo rushes in and embraces Yong Guk. Now Mr. Han starts to clean up the rifle, asks Yongmin to delete the CCTV footage, and blames Oh Wansoo for Yong Guk’s murder.
Who goes to jail for Yong Guk’s murder?
The police arrive but hear two stories: one from Mr. Han and the other from Oh Wansoo. Hearing the news, Do-yoo rushes to the Grand Palace and learns the truth from Oh Wansoo. The first thing Do-yoo does is check the CCTV footage. The clips are formatted, but the staff and Do-yoo realize Yongmin is still in the building. After a thorough search, Do-yoo finds Yongmin and ties his hands with a plastic cover to retain the gunpowder.
The police opened up Mr. Han’s safe and found the USB inside, and the results of the gunpowder test showed positive for Yongmin. Additionally, the CCTV footages are recovered. It shows Oh Wansoo outside the house when the gun was fired. With this evidence, Yongmin is put behind bars.
Red Swan (Season 1 Finale), Episode 10 Ending Explained:
Will Justice Prevail Over Greed?
Both Do-yoo and Oh Wansoo realize that Mr. Han has blackmailed Mi-ran to take the fall for attempted murder. Therefore, Oh Wansoo visits Mi-ran in prison and asks her to pay for only the crimes she has committed and not take the blame for Mr Han. The board of directors has voted for Mr. Han to be the CEO of Hwain Group. But Do-yoo realizes that Mr. Han could have blackmailed them with the borrowed named accounts.
So, Do-yoo visits Mr. Han, who is rejoicing and sitting in the CEO’s chair. Mr. Han feels he has won, and nothing can stop him now. In his happiness, Mr. Han also offers a bribe to Do-yoo so he can bring him the slush funds that have been given to the NOW Foundation. However, Do-yoo tells Mr Han about his mistake by giving the prosecution the ledgers. As the conversation is in the process, the prosecutors arrive and arrest Mr. Han for the murders of Juhyuk and Hyunsoo.
Can Mi-ran Redeem Herself and Find Forgiveness?
Now that Mi-ran is out of jail, she visits Yongmin, tells him the truth and asks him not to trust Mr. Han. In prison, Yongmin tries to kill Mr. Han. But the guards stop him, and Yongmin asks Mr. Han to drop dead. During the board of directors meeting, Mi-ran said the slush funds would go to the society as per the will through the NOW Foundation. One year later, Oh Wansoo continues her philanthropic work, and Do-yoo works in the police force. On one such volunteering opportunity, Do-yoo joins Oh Wansoo to help her cause by becoming a volunteer from the NOW Foundation.
The end is symbolic since Oh Wansoo fell in love with Yong Guk during one such volunteer work. Now, Do-yoo is joining a volunteering program. Their love story will probably start, considering they have already kissed once and expressed love for each other. The criminals have all paid a price as Mr. Han, the brain behind all the deaths and other crimes, is serving time in jail. To further add insult to injury, his own son despises him. Finally, Mi-ran sobered her rude and egotistic self after being imprisoned and realized the wrongs she had done. The two people who were toyed around were Yongmin and Yong Guk, as their parents, too consumed by infidelity, greed, power, and desire, ruined the offspring’s lives forever.
