Prior to Cannes Premiere, 'Once Upon A Time in Hollywood' released official Trailer

If Quentin Tarantino’s new film’s trailer has to be summed up in one particular term, it would be ‘Hippie Hollywood.’ Yes, the official trailer for Once Upon A Time in Hollywood is out and it’s magnanimous. Sony Picture released the new and official trailer ahead of the film’s highly anticipated premiere at the Cannes Film Festival 2019.

Quentin’s 9th movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie among other actors. The trailer manages to keep most of the plot points under the wraps, however Tarantino himself revealed some of the obvious details. QT stated that the film is set in the 1960s and the backdrop of the major story line is the Manson family murders.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt plays the part of washed-up TV Star Rick Dalton and stunt double Cliff Booth respectively. Their characters, it seems, are struggling to navigate in the final days of Hollywood’s golden age.

This new trailer has some exciting quotes that needs to be mentioned. “It’s official, old buddy, I’m a has-been.” says a hopeless Rick Dalton to his stunt double Cliff Booth.

Things go darker when the “has-been” actor realizes his new neighbor is none other than Sharon Tate, played by Margot Robbie. Robbie as Tate is seen buying a ticket to “The Wrecking Crew,” which was her movie that was released shortly before her murder at the hands of Manson’s followers at her home in 1969.

This much anticipated 9th feature of Quentin Tarantino has a star-studded cast apart from Pitt, DiCaprio and Robbie. The film stars Al Pacino, Dakota Fanning, Kurt Russell, Lena Dunham, and the late Luke Perry in important character roles.

It’s still unclear whether Tarantino will deviate his story from the original chain of events or not. However, the director has made a plea to moviegoers asking them to avoid spoiling the movie for other viewers outside of Cannes.

“The cast and crew have worked so hard to create something original, and I only ask that everyone avoids revealing anything that would prevent later audiences from experiencing the film in the same way,” Tarantino said.

“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” hits the theaters on July 26, two months after its Cannes Premiere and 50 years after the murderous event it is set upon.
