Along the way, she encounters others in need, and her unwavering resolve compels her to aid them, even at great personal cost. Now, let’s delve deeper into the plot of “Army of One.”

Army of One (2020) Plot Summary & Movie Synopsis:
“Army of One” opens with Dillon and his colleague breaking into a house where they are about to capture some criminals whom they have been hunting for several months now. But, to their surprise, there are more than one culprits who attack Dillon and his colleague right after they break into the house. Dillon somehow manages to kill both the culprits and save his colleague’s life. However, in the process, this incident mentally and physically leaves a scar on his life.
Dillon wakes up from the nightmare and finds himself sleeping inside the car alongside his wife, Brenner. Both of them are heading for an adventurous weekend. They stop at a restaurant nearby, where some local goons try to mess with Dillon and Brenner. But, surprisingly, an elderly woman, popularly known as Mama, asks them to stop disturbing the couple. The locals listen to her without making any fuss. Brenner and Dillon offer their gratitude to Mama as Mama asks them that their bill is on those local boys.
How does Dillon Get Killed?
Dillon and Brenner spend their time inside the forest with their tent as they come across the forest ranger, who seems to have known them for quite a while as they share the same field perhaps. Later, Dillon and Brenner go on a trek when the rain starts to fall, and they find shelter in an abandoned house inside the forest. There is no one inside the house. Therefore, they decide to spend some time together, and just before they are about to leave, Brenner starts exploring the house. Dillon tells Brenner that they should just leave before anyone comes. Interestingly at that moment, Brenner discovers a secret door.
Brenner opens it and finds guns and drugs hidden inside the room as Dillon tells her that they should leave immediately. However, before they can do anything, they are attacked from the back. When Brenner opens her eyes, she sees that the leader of the gang, Butch, is hitting Dillon while asking him who had sent them. Soon after going through his ID, Butch finds out that Dillon is only a police officer, not a federal agent. But one way or another, since Dillon belongs to law enforcement, they can not possibly take the chance to set him free.
So, Butch decides to kill Dillon and Brenner. Butch then asks his men to dump the bodies so that no one can know anything about this. Unbeknownst to them, Brenner is still alive. She regains her consciousness after their bodies are dumped. Brenner remembers her days of training where giving up was never an option, so she pulls herself together. She mourns for her dead husband for a little while and then prepares herself to take her revenge on Butch and others.
How does Brenner Kill Butch?
Brenner starts to roam inside the forest and tries to find any clue that will lead her to the place where they were shot. In the process, she meets with a couple of Mama’s men and kills them without showing any sign of mercy. Meanwhile, we see Butch dealing with Hank and his men, delivering them the guns that Brenner had seen earlier and receiving money on behalf of Mama. Even a powerful man like Hank fears Mama for some reason, which is unclear at this point.
However, after a point when Sheriff Hobbs is introduced. We learn that Mama regularly donates a huge amount of money to the church, and she owns almost the whole town. She runs all the drug business in the countryside. Hence, she holds the greater power within these boundaries. She has her contacts placed in every corner of the town. Anyway, following the trails of her men and killing them one after another, Brenner finally comes to a house that Mama owns. Brenner confronts Butch and kills him while he comes to sleep at the stable.
How Does Brenner End Up In Mama’s Place?
The following morning, Brenner sees some women are kept inside as prisoners. Brenner releases them and is later chased by Mama’s boys inside the forest. During the chase, only one woman is able to keep up with Brenner and she is Emily. Brenner learns that Emily is pregnant with Butch’s child, so basically, the child belongs to Mama, and she wants to protect it from her. Brenner promises her that no matter what happens, she will make sure that Emily and her unborn child remain safe.
Meanwhile, knowing that Brenner is still alive and hunting all her boys, Mama asks Hank to help her out in this situation. The following morning, Emily is taken by Hank’s men, but Brenner somehow manages to get rid of them. Later, they are confronted by Sheriff Hobbs, but he is shot in the leg by one of Hank’s men from afar. Brenner hides Hobbs deep inside the forest and later takes Emily with her so that they can seek help from outside.
The forest ranger from before picks them up as Brenner thanks her for showing up in such a time of crisis. She asks her to bring them to town. However, when Brenner opens her eyes, she sees herself surrounded by Mama’s men, and Emily is being dragged inside the house. Brenner soon realizes that the forest ranger, whom she took as a friend, works for Mama as well. Mama tells Hank to bring Brenner inside the house and asks him to make her suffer till she breathes her last.

Is Brenner Able to Save Emily?
Brenner sees that Mama may perhaps kill Emily for trying to run away from her, so she says that she wanted to use Emily against Mama, and for that purpose, she took her while Emily never wanted to leave in the first place. Mama lets Emily live while later she tells her that she knows the truth, and once Emily gives birth to Butch’s child, she will kill her no matter what.
In the meantime, Brenner is held hostage inside the house without any hope of rescuing herself from this situation. But Emily comes up with a knife, kills the guard, and frees Brenner. Brenner asks Emily to stay hidden under the bed while she cleans the house. Brenner takes an adrenaline shot, and one by one, she kills all of Mama’s men, including Hank.
However, Mama finds Emily under the bed and holds her in front of a knife, asking Brenner to give up. Right at that point, Brenner takes a knife stab from her back, and Mama takes the opportunity to slide the knife across Emily’s throat. Brenner kills the man who stabs her in the back but fails to save Emily as she breathes her last in Brenner’s hands. Brenner, in despair, leaves the place, thinking of the promise she made to Emily about keeping her safe. She has failed to keep the promise, and the revenge is not done yet as Mama is still alive.
Does Brenner Kill Mama?
At the end of “Army of One,” we see Sheriff Hobbs receive a phone call from Brenner saying that it is time now for him to be ready. Soon after, we see Mama spending her time outside her house as one of her boys is about to give her some tea. Right at that moment, Mama receives a text saying ‘judgment day’ on her phone, and she hears a gunshot. Moments later, a bullet goes past Mama’s forehead, leaving her dead on the chair.
We see that Brenner has shot Mama from a distance as she leaves the forest with her gun and enters her vehicle. The revenge is finally complete now. Although Brenner has failed to keep Emily safe by killing Mama and her boys, she has made sure that no woman in the future can be abused in such a manner.
