Happiness Battle (Season 1), Episode 10: In this episode, Do Jun’s layers of evil are revealed. The show has not revealed his true nature yet, but it is getting there. Jang is still stuck in the chaos, and Do Jun still wants to blame Yu Jin’s death on her. Jung Ah pays the price for her arrogance. Tae Ho is entering the game now. Jin Seop’s feelings for Jang are slowly being revealed to his co-workers.

Happiness Battle (Season 1), Episode 10 Recap:
The episode begins with Do Jun in the hotel room with a woman. Jang tries to call the electronics store to unlock the USB. She requests the man to unlock the USB by the next day. Jung Ah calls her secretary, Mr. Han, and asks him to pretend to have driven Jung Sik’s car as Jung Sik had overdosed on drugs. She tells Mr. Han that it was not Jung Sik’s first time and no one was hurt. Su Bin calls Jung Ah and informs her that he has a gathering to attend. Jung Sik hears this and asks if he can join, but Su Bin refuses. Jung Sik reminds him if he has forgotten what he had done for him and lets him know that he will do what he wants and he will not be able to stop him.
Na Young’s husband wonders why Jo is not responding to his messages and enters the home to be greeted by A-rin. He is shocked to see Jo in his house. Na Young informs her husband that they will have dinner with Jo, and he tries to escape it. Jang calls him at the right time to meet her, and he immediately agrees. He calls Do Jun and asks if he will attend the gathering that day. He refuses but informs him that Jang will be at the meeting. Jang comes to where Tae Ho (Na Young’s husband) had sent her. Upon reaching the place, Jang is uncomfortable and asks what this place is. Tae Ho tells her that she must see what Do Jun is into for herself.
Tae Ho leads her to a dining area and teases her, asking if she thinks it was going to be something naughty. He introduces her to a few men and tells them that Jang has a few questions. Do Jun gets home to find what the articles Jang had pinned about the murders. Tae Ho reveals to Jang that Do Jun had put the house in Yu Jin’s name, but he does not know why. The other men laugh, asking what he had to hide that he even paid the gift tax for the house. Jung Sik is drinking in a bar, causing a scene by saying he is the CEO’s brother.
Jang says she will leave and deliberately forgets her phone and goes out. The other men talk about Do Jun’s taste and the reason for giving the house to his wife. She comes back to take the phone where she had put the recording on. Jung Sik sees Su Bin walking Jang out and assumes he is cheating on Jung Ah. Jung Sik threatens Su Bin by saying he will make sure Jung Ah divorces him, and he loses his cool and hits him.
Jung Ah comes to the bar and apologizes to the staff whom Jung Sik hit. She offers him money to not report it to the police. Tae Ho calls Do Jun and informs him that Jang is tough but assures everybody has secrets. Tae Ho asks if he has bigger secrets to hide that he does not know about and advises him to reveal the smaller ones. He also warns Do Jun that Jang would be troublesome, and he says he will handle her himself.
Jang gets a call saying the USB has been unlocked. She takes it and enters an alleyway to see what is in it. She opens the folder named ‘Kang Do Jun’ and plays a video. She is unable to continue watching as it torments her. She starts to cry, recalling that Ji Yul had watched this video. Jang calls Do Jun to meet her. Jang confronts Do Jun with the truth and blackmails him so that she will take it to the police. He tells her that she is free to do it as the police already know, and Yu Jin and he have agreed to bury the matter. Jang asks him what had happened that night, and Do Jun insists that it was Jang’s fault that Yu Jin had died. He tells her that Yu Jin was hysterical from the time she showed up in her life, and before she died, she wanted Jang dead.
Jang goes to a karaoke bar, opens the folder in the USB named Jang Mi-ho, and finds a complaint letter confirming everything Do Jun had said. She even mentions that she had become Jang’s sister against her will when they were kids. Jang breaks down reading the letter. Jung Ah asks Mr. Han to watch Jung Sik in the motel. Mr. Han calls somebody and asks him to meet him in the club, promising he has something that was promised. Jung Ah is busy with the investor meeting along with Su Bin.
While preparing for the investor meeting, everyone receives a video of Jung Sik inhaling meth. Jung Ah asks all the staff members to silence their phone until she figures things out. Jung Ah calls Jung Sik to find out where Mr. Han is, but he has no idea. She rushes home to the locker to find it without any money and a resignation letter from Mr. Han stating he had taken the money as severance pay. Jung Ah asks the staff to continue the investor meeting and tells them to inform everyone that Jung Sik’s video was fabricated, but sadly, no one attends the meeting. Su Bin consoles Jung Ah.
Jin Seop reminds Jang that she is about to start work the next day. She receives a call from Yu Jin’s father-in-law asking her to come to the house. Ha,Yul is crying as she is shocked not to find her grandfather at home after she woke up. At first, Jang tries to explain all the grown-ups’ situation but apologizes. She contemplates revealing the truth to Do Jun’s dad but changes her mind after realizing the kids miss their father.
Do Jun calls someone and asks them not to reveal some information, even to his lawyers, and have to take it to their grave. The person brings up a woman but Do Jun cuts him off. Jin Seop takes Jang’s side at work. Jang goes to Yu Jin’s house to collect her belongings. Do Jun visits a shady bar to enquire about Yu Jin. Jang is about to leave the house when she sees a parcel with red stains on top addressed to Yu Jin, which is from Hye-Jung. Do Jun calls the lady’s mother and asks her to sit down and talk.
The episode ends with Jang opening the package to find a note that reads, “It’s the price for your life” and a key.
Happiness Battle (Season 1), Episode 10 Ending, Explained:
The episode takes a lot of interesting turns. Jang confronts Do Jun about the videos, and he says that Yu Jin knew about them. This is something that will be explored more in the next episode, as we are not sure if he was lying to get away and give Jang a guilt trip. Do Jun seems to have layers of darkness in his character. It is not just about women, but there seem to be more wicked things he is into. Is the woman Do Jun meets in the bar Yu Jin’s birth mother?
Jung Ah’s life seems to be ruined. It will be interesting to see what Su Bin will do now. Will he leave her or become brave since she no longer holds power? Jung Sik cannot bully Su Bin anymore as well. But will Jung Sik be put behind bars?
Will Jang find out where that key leads to? Jang’s life still seems to be in trouble as Do Jun is hell-bent on blaming Yu Jin’s death on her. Do Jun is getting away with everything he is trying, but his time will be up soon, and he will surely pay the price for all his sins.
