Invasion (Season 2 Finale) Episode 10: Previously, on Invasion on Apple TV+, we saw the aftermath of the seismic events across the globe. Aneesha’s search for Sarah reaches the final step. While she meets Sarah with the help of the Movement, the soldiers stop her from escaping their base. On the other hand, Mitsuki learns something new about the communication pattern of the aliens after meeting Caspar in another dimension. Meanwhile, Trevante and Rose get out of the prison cell. On their way out, Rose finds her estranged partner, Billy in a room full of patients.
Now the Invasion Season 2 Finale shows the characters working toward a risky operation to save their future. Luke, Mitsuki and Trevante play crucial roles in this endeavour to save humanity.

Episode 10: Old Friends, New Frontiers
Mitsuki’s Situation
The episode begins with Mitsuki (Shioli Kutsuna) after her ground-breaking discovery while being out in the forest. Upon following a light, she reached another dimension to find Caspar (Billy Barratt). They both sense that the portals across the world go to the mother ship. Once she regains her consciousness, Maya (Nain González Norvind) asks her about her experience in the jungle. Mitsuki mentions following the aliens’ voices and digging for the light. She believes that if she can learn to control the portals, they can also help people.
On the military base on Ben Shelton’s farm, Rose (Nedra Marie Taylor) finds Billy and Dolores in a room full of patients. Clark (Enver Gjokaj) wonders what these people represent and what their state means. Trevante (Trevante Cloe) shares what the general told him – the people were returned that way. Rose insists they should take them out of the facility. But Trevante makes her realise that the knowledge of their presence will provide their loved ones with hope. So, the three leave the room and try to get out of Project Idabel.
The Gradual Research
Caspar speaks with President Benya Mabote (Moshidi Motshegwa) and General Mitchell (Grant Swanby) from Project Idabel about a possible solution. He talks about the light that can lead him to the mother ship, and which connects the portals. The general wonders how and when to go forward with their efforts. To know the answers, the president decides to seek Mitsuki’s help. Right after, Trevante arrives behind the general. Caspar instantly recognises him and stops the military from taking any action against Trevante.
Trevante reveals that he reached Project Idabel based on the drawings Caspar made in his notebook. Even though many thought he was crazy, he kept following the steps. Now, he volunteers to head towards the mother ship to help protect humanity. The president does not approve his request. Caspar tries his best to stop the soldiers from taking Trevante away. But he fails at it. On the other hand, Clark joins other volunteers from the Movement expecting their help in finding Aneesha (Golshifteh Farahani) and Sarah (Tara Moayedi). But Hanley (Craig Jackson) refuses to keep helping her any longer.
Luke’s Realisations
Once again, Luke (Azhy Robertson) senses the presence of aliens around them, heading in their direction. It makes him restless. He listens to the radio announcement talking about the portal. Right after, he reveals that the aliens are coming to protect it. Meanwhile, General Mitchell questions Aneesha about their connection with the alien’s shard. Eventually, Aneesha admits that it kept her and her family protected. She says it reacts when it is close to aliens – it can wound them and kill them. While the general expects her to get Luke’s help to communicate with it, she tells him that she won’t let her other kid go through the same turmoil.
Right when the Movement members decide to get out of Project Idabel, the soldiers reach outside their base. Luke walks out and offers his help with the portal to the mother ship. Since the soldiers refuse to listen to him, he walks in their direction. Suddenly, they all see an alien arrive on one of their vehicles. They realise that Luke can control the alien’s mind. Clark offers help from their side for the greater good. While the soldiers join Luke, the General takes Aneesha and Sarah to him.
Mitsuki’s Help
President Benya speaks with Mitsuki and Maya to find the portal to help the soldiers take the best course of action. While Mitsuki decides to enter the enclosure, Caspar decides to go ahead with the procedure. Meanwhile, Luke leads the soldiers to another neighbourhood and points at the sky to show the portal. Suddenly, a loud thrumming sound unsettles him. Moments after he senses the aliens’ presence, they catch up with the soldiers. Trevante, who happens to be with them, get into the battlefield to fight with these formidable villains.
While the soldiers struggle to fight the aliens, Mitsuki tries to sense a visual of that scene. Maya tries to keep her stable to make her realise her potential. She uses memories as a tool to keep Mitsuki grounded. While a fluid form (portal) soon approaches Luke on the battleground, Luke stands firmly ahead of it. Worried about what the alien form will do to the kid, Clark takes him away from the danger.

What happens to Mitsuki, Caspar, and Trevante in the end?
Mitsuki realises that she cannot control the aliens while holding on to her memories to keep her grounded. So, she requests Maya to let her go on her own. The analysts notice that the feed is back online after Mitsuki takes the daring step. On the battlefield, the soldiers and the civilians suffer a heavy blow from the present alien form. However, because of Mitsuki’s decision to steer away from her memories, she manages to bring the alien form under control. As it turns out, she manages to control the alien’s mind.
Due to the intense pressure on her own mind, Mitsuki probably loses consciousness. She at least falls down in the aftermath of it, which I’m unsure how to interpret. Trevante also takes a daring step – to enter the portal to help with a risky operation, which is probably humanity’s last hope of existence. He puts on the necessary suit to enter another dimension. That’s where he finds Caspar. The season ultimately ends with Caspar asking Trevante to follow him. This pair walks toward a light to find out what lies beyond.
