In “Red Swan” episodes 7 & 8, Oh Wansoo and Do-yoo take on Mr. Han and Mi-ran head-on as everything intensifies. There is another assassination attempt on Oh Wansoo, which opens doors to finding the real culprit behind Juhyuk’s death, Kim Duo’s death, and learning about the legitimacy of Yongmin. Mi-ran has been angry with one trouble after the other following her. Despite injuries and threats to life, Do-yoo and Oh Wansoo continue their mission. Yong Guk has an eye opener, starts to see through the lies, and confronts everyone who has made his life miserable.

Red Swan Episode 7 Recap:

The episode begins with Hyun-soo’s arrest, and Mi-ran trusts Mr. Han to handle the situation. At the NOW Foundation, Oh Wansoo is upset, and Do-yoo comforts her. Meanwhile, Mr. Han visits Yongmin, asking him not to be reckless because it turns out Yongmin had tipped off the prosecutors, leading to Hyun-soo’s arrest. When Oh Wansoo visits the prosecutor’s office, she is surprised to see Hyun-soo laid back even though he is in trouble. The reason Hyun-soo is laid back is because Hyun-soo has evidence against Hwain Group, and Hwain Group has something over Hyun-soo.

Hence, Hyun-soo will be rescued by the Hwain Group. Once Oh Wansoo leaves, Mr. Han promises Hyun-soo that he will be out. Hyun-soo asks to access all the secret accounts in his name. What surprises Mr Han is when Hyun-soo says that Mr. Han should talk to Yongmin as he had tipped off the prosecutor, but Mr. Han says it could be Do-yoo. The reason Yongmin did it is because he wanted to be the successor of the Hwain Group, defeating his brother Yong Guk.

Will Do-yoo return the ledgers?

Now, Do-yoo checks through the ledgers and realizes that the slush funds are only in Mi-ran’s name and that only Mr. Han handles the original ledgers. When Mi-ran asks Mr. Han about the tip-off, he reveals nothing about Yongmin but diverts the attention to Do-yoo. Later, Oh Wansoo is called in. Mi-ran shows pictures of Do-yoo and her and asks if they are having an affair. Eventually, Oh Wansoo confesses that she had ordered Do-yoo to steal the ledgers and promises to return them when Mi-ran suggests killing Do-yoo.

Outside, Mr. Han sees Do-yoo and asks him to return the ledger. But Do-yoo refuses to do so, and Mr Han warns him to be careful. That night, Oh Wansoo calls Do-yoo for a run, tells him she has every reason to suspect him, and asks to return the ledger. However, Do-yoo refuses to give it back, asking Oh Wansoo to trust him. He also reveals that Lee Jin was the one who reported him to Mr Han.

When there is chaos in the Hwain Group, Tae-ra’s mother takes the opportunity to leak the news about Hyun-soo to the media, putting everyone in a panic state. The press also wonders if Oh Wansoo will divorce Yong Guk, so Mr. Han decides to hold a press conference to refute the rumors. At the prosecutor’s office, Hyun-soo promises to give the files containing the bribes made by Mr. Han to the National Tax Service and Korea Customs Service in exchange for his return to normalcy without any hassle.

Furthermore, Hyun-soo tells Mr. Han that he is sure Yongmin is the one who tipped off on the embezzlement money as the prosecutors don’t know anything about the slush funds. To cover up the rumors in the media, Mr. Han comes up with a plan to leak to the press about Oh Wansoo and Do-yoo’s affair, making Oh Wansoo forcibly step down as the Director of the NOW Foundation.

What happens in Busan?

To make the plan work, Mr. Han and Mi-ran convince Oh Wansoo to leave for Busan to work with Do-yoo. After they leave, Mr. Han orders Lee Jin to photograph them in Busan and kill Oh Wansoo, framing Do-yoo. In a flashback, we learn that Chairman Kim Duo visited the USA to make his will, as Mr. Han influences every law firm in South Korea. At present, Mr. Han meets the lawyer from the USA and asks her to disclose the will’s contents.

However, the lawyer refuses to do so and only says a lot of money is coming into the NOW Foundation. Chairman Kim Duo’s 70th birthday is coming in a month, and his will will be disclosed. When Mr. Han learns about it, he asks Yongmin to take over the NOW Foundation because of Kim Duo’s will, and after that, Mr. Han will help Yongmin take over the Hwain Group.

In Busan, Oh Wansoo and Do-yoo get close, and Lee Jin gets a lot of good pictures. At night, Oh Wansoo receives news that Yong Guk will arrive in Busan the next day. That night, Do-yoo and Oh Wansoo hug each other, saying they need to control their feelings until a little later, and Do-yoo steps out to check the surroundings for danger.

Seeing the opportunity, Lee Jin breaks into Oh Wansoo’s room and tries to attack her, but Do-yoo rescues her. As instructed, Oh Wansoo runs out the window. Lee Jin and Do-yoo fight, and in the process, Do-yoo is hurt severely. Outside, Oh Wansoo hides in a boat. Lee Jin finds her, but yet again, Do-yoo comes to her aid and fights Lee Jin outside.

Red Swan Episode 8 Recap:

The episode continues where it left off when Lee Jin pushes Oh Wansoo, and she hits her head against a table and falls unconscious. Seeing Oh Wansoo unconscious, Do-yoo protects her, fights Lee Jin, and pushes her off the dock. Even though Do-yoo is hurt to protect Oh Wansoo, he gets on the boat and drives it into the sea. The following day, Do-yoo wakes up to a concerned Oh Wansoo, and they kiss each other.

When Yong Guk arrives, Oh Wansoo is fast asleep. In her sleep, she lays her head on Yong Guk’s lap, taking him by surprise. When Oh Wansoo wakes up, Yong Guk is worried that Oh Wansoo and Do-yoo spent the night together. Oh Wansoo tells Yong Guk that it is important to find out who ordered the attack on Oh Wansoo.

What does Do-yoo suspect?

There is a photoshoot with Oh Wansoo and Yong Guk. After the photoshoot, as Do-yoo has instructed Oh Wansoo, she asks Yong Guk two important questions. Without hesitation, Oh Wansoo asks Yong Guk if Yongmin was born out of wedlock. Seeing Yong Guk’s reaction, Oh Wansoo concludes that her assumptions are valid. The next question Oh Wansoo asks Yong Guk is about Chairman Kim Duo’s death, and like Mi-ran and Mr. Han have lied to other people, they have lied to Yong Guk as well, saying he died while having intercourse. But Oh Wansoo puts a seed of doubt in Yong Guk’s head, asking why he is so sure Kim Duo was not murdered.

Meanwhile, Mi-ran is infuriated as she watches the news that the saline water she was injected with is a scam and that she was paying 300 million won for it. To solve the problem, Mr. Han proposes a solution, blaming the NOW Foundation for providing the money. Moreover, Mr. Han realizes that Do-yoo is after finding Juhyuk’s killer, which all circles back to him. To find a solution, Mr. Han gets Mi-ran’s approval to leak pictures of Oh Wansoo and Do-yoo to the press and spread rumors about their affair. The problems don’t end for Mr. Han as Oh Wansoo tells him that she is concerned about the additional security that had to be with her in Busan didn’t show up.

Yong Guk confronts Mi-ran

After the conversation with Oh Wansoo, Mr. Han is determined to kill Oh Wansoo and slaps Lee Jin and asks her to finish the job. As planned, the reports about Oh Wansoo and Do-yoo’s affair are out, and Yong Guk is annoyed and visits Mi-ran. However, Mi-ran says it is Yong Guk’s fault for her tailing Oh Wansoo. Now, Yong Guk blames Mi-ran for becoming an emotionally dysfunctional human as he cannot express love to the woman he loves. He tells Mi-ran that she should have at least pretended to feel sorry when he caught her cheating with Mr Han. In a flashback, we see that Yong Guk is not emotionally mature enough to fix his marriage, and Oh Wansoo declares that she is not in love with him anymore.

What does Do-yoo find in Mr Han’s safe?

Finally, Hyun-soo is released. Mr. Han is ready to keep his end of the deal but adds another condition: Hyun-soo needs to get the original ledgers from Do-yoo. Hearing that Do-yoo is Oh Wansoo’s lover, Hyun-soo calls Do-yoo, asks for the ledger, and is annoyed that Do-yoo may have feelings for Oh Wansoo. However, Do-yoo reveals nothing in the ledger that troubles Hyun-soo and asks about the deal Hyun-soo made with Mr. Han. That night, Do-yoo sneaks into Mr. Han’s annex, opens the safe, and finds a document where the trust funds will be transferred to Yongmin, meaning that Yongmin is Mr. Han’s son. Before Mr. Han enters the annex, Do-yoo takes pictures of the documents and leaves.

As Mr. Han settles down, Yong Guk arrives and provokes Mr. Han by saying that Mi-ran resents Yongmin because she treats Mr. Han like a servant, and Yongmin is a reminder of that. Furthermore, Yong Guk adds that Kim Duo’s will is a secret because Kim Duo does not want any inheritance from Yongmin. In a flashback, we see Do-yoo and Hyun-soo teaming up to find the person behind all the chaos happening in Hwain. Hyun-soo asks Do-yoo to meet his wife in case something happens to him, as Hyun-soo’s wife will have something to give Do-yoo.

What does Yong Guk learn from Do-yoo and Oh Wansoo?

Insecurities catch up to Yong Guk. He locks up Do-yoo, and Oh Wansoo’s assistant informs Oh Wansoo about it. When Yong Guk meets Do-yoo, he holds a rifle to Do-yoo’s head. He says Oh Wansoo is his and asks him why he got close to Oh Wansoo. Instead of lies, Do-yoo reveals his true intentions and also suggests that the same person murdered Kim Duo. When Do-yoo says he has circumstantial evidence, Yong Guk is impatient. Luckily, Oh Wansoo comes to Do-yoo’s rescue. To stop Yong Guk, Oh Wansoo says she loves Do-yoo and asks him to let Do-yoo continue to find evidence. What comforts Yong Guk is Oh Wansoo, saying she trusts Yong Guk and hugs him.

Why are Oh Wansoo and Yong Guk happy?

Two weeks later, it is time for Kim Duo’s will to be revealed. Mr. Han is tensed as he recalls a conversation with Kim Duo, who says he won’t let Yongmin have any inheritance money as Yongmin is Mr. Han’s son. During the reveal, the lawyers read out the will and said that Kim Duo has 16 trillion won in illegal slush funds in a Swiss bank, and two trillion won in borrowed name, which will be donated to the NOW Foundation. The only way to open and withdraw the amount will be if Oh Wansoo signs the papers at the bank.

Ultimately, the will sends a wave of shock to the Hwain family. Yong Guk cannot stop smiling and seeing everyone’s faces. If the whole plan of killing Oh Wansoo were successful, nobody in the family would have any money. Now that the money will be in Oh Wansoo’s hand and the minute she withdraws the money, her life will be in grave danger again.

Moreover, Do-yoo is close to finding the truth about everything, and once the evidence is gathered, everyone will be put behind bars if all goes according to plan. Yong Guk is maturing slowly. There is a chance that he will let Oh Wansoo have a life of her own with Do-yoo, but it won’t be easy. The following two episodes will wrap up all the loose ends, showing the fate of the characters.
