Matt Damon speaks about Stella Artois’ new campaign and Oppenheimer: With the release of ‘Air,’ Matt Damon has returned to the limelight. He reunited with his close pal from Boston – Ben Affleck, for this soaring drama about the foundation of Air Jordans. Now he is starring in Stella Artois’ new campaign with Zoe Saldaña (Avatar), Ludacris (Fast & Furious), and Jeremy Allen White (The Bear). For that, he is inviting beer aficionados to join him and a few celeb friends for dinner in the Big Apple.
Damon is part of Stella Artois’ new commercial to promote their ‘Let’s Do Dinner’ contest. The beer company will get 15 lucky winners (age 21 and over) and their plus-ones on board to New York. These lucky winners will get a chance to be a part of a star-studded event that will feature a wonderful treat by renowned chefs, live performances, and a starry guest list (that is still under wraps)
How is Matt Damon’s Water.org related to Stella Artois’ new campaign?
The Oscar-winning actor is also a co-founder of Water.org – the non-profit organization that is committed to providing access to safe water and sanitation to people living in poverty across Asia, Latin America, and Africa. The dinner party will also support this charitable cause.
The brewer previously helped help Damon’s non-profit with its work. They helped 4.5 million people overseas get access to safe, clear water. In his recent interview for Hollywood Reporter, the actor spoke about the generous support from the Anheuser-Busch company that ‘has been really great at working Water.org into their PR and marketing and raising awareness of the mission.’
While speaking about the impact of their work, Damon notes the stark contrast he witnessed in these areas where one has to make efforts to get these necessities that residents from first-world countries take for granted. He is intent on making the lives of many more kids easier through his mission. He also mentions the ripple effect of the non-profit’s work.
How was Damon’s experience working with Nolan on Oppenheimer?
After the critical acclaim for Air, Damon is set to return to the screen in Christopher Nolan’s long-awaited Oppenheimer. He will play Lt. Gen. Leslie Groves Jr. in this biopic. It will be out in theatres on July 21. The film is about three hours long – the longest in Damon’s and Nolan’s careers.
Here’s what Damon says about his experience of working with Nolan on Oppenheimer, “The truth is as important as the subject matter is. It’s really fun working with Chris! He’s so good at what he does that it just a really enjoyable experience, and for me as a lifelong filmmaker, just to be able to watch him make decisions under pressure is really, it’s about as fun as it gets for me at work. I’m looking forward to seeing how people react to the movie, I had a chance to see it recently, and I was really blown away; I’m excited for everyone to see it.”
“It’s funny, [Nolan] plays with time so much; it’s almost like he plays with our time in the movie, especially with the pace. It did not feel like the movie was three hours,” he says.
How was Damon’s experience working with Cillian Murphy in Oppenheimer?
In Oppenheimer, Cillian Murphy plays the physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, known as the father of the atomic bomb. While speaking about his experience of working with Murphy, Damon said, “Cillian is just flat-out incredible in this movie. The whole thing really rests on his shoulders. It’s a remarkable performance, I can’t wait for people to just see that,”
Besides Damon and Murphy, Oppenheimer also features Robert Downey Jr., Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Kenneth Branagh, Gary Oldman, Jack Quaid, and Rami Malek.
