However, Gyeong Ho comes in the way and is stabbed. Later, Su Yeon comes home drenched in blood and tells her mother that she thinks she has killed Gyeong Ho.

How do Seon Hui and Su Yeon know each other?

In a flashback to a month ago, Seon Hui came to school happy and met Gyeong Ho. They got inside the school with their other friend, Hyeon-U. The teacher introduces Su Yeon to the class as she has transferred schools. Subsequently, she talks to Seon Hui as if they have known each other before. However, Seon Hui does not remember Su Yeon. Su Yeon says she probably mistook Seon Hui for someone else. After that, Su Yeon starts observing Seon Hui and her friends and notices the way Seon Hui does her hair. Meanwhile, Seon Hui’s father, Choi Jin Hyeok, receives the Excellent Person of Korea award and takes pictures with his family.

Later in school, Gyeong Ho gives a swan pendant for Seon Hui’s birthday. Su Yeon watches the interaction from afar. After Seon Hui leaves, Hyeong Ho tells Hyeon-U that Seon Hui has rejected his proposal to date. In class, after all the students leave, Su Yeon brings out a box of matchsticks and asks Seon Hui if she still can’t remember Su Yeon. In a flashback, we see Seon Hui and Su Yeon when they are little kids, and some boys bully Seon Hui. Fortunately, Su Yeon comes to her rescue. After that day in the orphanage, Su Yeon and Seon Hui are inseparable. Furthermore, Su Yeon teaches Seon Hui how to use a matchstick. The friendship between the girls will be broken as some people are willing to adopt Su Yeon, and she will leave the orphanage soon.

Why does Su Yeon hit Gyeong Ho?

Back in the present, Su Yeon tells Seon Hui that she could not be adopted because she got hurt. Moreover, Su Yeon wonders if she was adopted and if she would have been happy like Seon Hui. Hence, Seon Hui tells Su Yeon she will help her on that journey. Since Su Yeon is watching Seon Hui and her friends, Su Yeon asks Seon Hui for the swan pendant Gyeong Ho had given her to celebrate their rekindled friendship.

On the basketball court, Gyeong Ho tells Hyeon-U that Seon Hui does not have time to date because of her busy schedule and that she will only think about dating in college. However, Su Yeon agrees to help Su Yeon the next day.

Gyeong Ho sees the interaction and is annoyed. At home, Su Yeon lives with an older girl from the orphanage. She expresses her desire to quit school, but her roommate encourages Su Yeon to graduate. The next day, Gyeong Ho gives money to Su Yeon and asks her to stop bullying Seon Hui. Infuriated, Su Yeon punches and kicks Gyeong Ho to the ground, asking Seon Hui if she thinks Su Yeon is a beggar.

Furthermore, Hyeon-U tells Su Yeon that Seon Hui’s father is a lawyer and Gyeong-Ho’s father is a famous painter, so he is way below their class as his parents are dry cleaners.

Hearing this, Su Yeon is annoyed and says if dry cleaners kids can’t date, then orphans like her don’t have a chance to date. That night, Su Yeon decides to tell Seon Hui about how she got hurt and takes her to an alleyway. Seon Hui is shocked and scared when Su Yeon takes off her wig. Su Yeon tells Seon Hui that treating burns is expensive, so no one adopts her. She got burned just one day before the day of her adoption, and the reason is Seon Hui. Who kills Gyeong Ho?

Another still from “Perfect Family.”

The next day, Su Yeon overhears Gyeong Ho telling Hyeon-U that he intends to confess his love to Seon Hui again, to which Su Yeon gets angry. In class, Su Yeon yells at Seon Hui, telling her not to listen to anything Gyeong Ho has to say and that if she listens to him, their friendship is over. Outside, they see Su Yeon and try to walk towards her. But Su Yeon sees the detectives and runs away. The detectives then decide to question people who are close to Gyeong Ho. At school, Su Yeon is afraid and tries to call Seon Hui. However, she does not answer the calls, so Su Yeon starts running towards Seon Hui’s house. In Seon Hui’s house, Eun Ju (Seon Hui’s mother) knocks on Seon Hui’s door, asking if she is asleep. Seon Hui is crouching, tormented by the horrors of the previous night, along with the buzzing sound of her mobile because of Su Yeon’s call. In the epilogue, Jin Hyeok and Eun Ju meet Seon Hui and ask if she would like to be their daughter.

Seon Hui’s family seems so eloquent and perfect, but they seem to have a sinister side to them. Mainly because to save Seon Hui, Eun Jun sets Gyeong Ho’s house on fire, killing Gyeong Ho’s parents as well. Seon Hui wakes up to the reality of seeing her mother for who she is. At the same time, Seon Hui blames herself for Gyeong Ho’s death even though she didn’t kill him. This is probably because of Su Yeon, who constantly tells Seon Hui that her life is ruined because of Seon Hui. Now, the detectives suspect Arson and Su Yeon present at the crime scene, which will make things complicated for Su Yeon and Seon Hui, especially if Seon Hui decides to confess to a crime she has not committed. Knowing Su Yeon, there is a chance that she will blame everything on Seon Hui to take revenge.
