The Power (Season 1) Episode 7 Recap:

Episode 7: Baptism

Roxy Monke (played by Ria Zmitrowicz) started creating videos about the use of EOD. As a result, she becomes a known face for making use of it. She meets young women and guides them on how they can make use of this ability and develop their skills. She says that they should channel their anger and rage to better concentrate on using their power. When a girl successfully works up an electric bolt, she hugs Roxy for helping her.

Meanwhile, the Urbandox supporter, who lit himself on fire at Margotโ€™s (played by Toni Colette) press conference is found to be a 26-year-old dog walker named Paul Jordan. He posted disturbing content against the use of EOD in the past, which stirred many feeble male minds. Now, this incident is making several more men join a misogynist fight against the EOD. Allie / Eve (Halle Bush) sees this news from her new abode. The voice (voiced by Adina Porter) guides her to protect her Garden of Eden and teach others how to use their power.

Meanwhile, because of this attack in her motherโ€™s press conference, Jos (played by Auliโ€™l Cravalho) is told to go to school only in the presence of her security guards, keeping a watch on her at all times. The Paul Jordan incident clearly distresses her. A boy approaches Jos to talk against Margot. It takes Jos back to have a flashback of the brutal incident. Her guards take the boy away from attacking her.

Tunde Ojo (played by Toheeb Jimoh) is told to visit Carpathia to cover the story of Zoia (played by Ana Ularu) and the growing uprising against brutal injustice. He sits down with Declan Blease (Risteard Cooper) to talk about Zoia, who is emerging as the revolutionary leader who has built an army of freedom fighters after escaping human trafficking. Declan is certain that there will be a war. Their dialogue makes Tunde look forward to pursuing this story.

Tunde gets on a boat with a few other journalists, and he plans to speak with Zoia. He approaches Zoiaโ€™s base after procuring a gun. He says that he is a CNN journalist. The women frisk him, interrogate, and bring him to a waiting room. He witnesses Zoia giving birth to a baby girl.

Viktor Moskalev (played by Alexandru Bindea) fits a bracelet on Tatianaโ€™s (played by Zrinka Cvitesic) ankle to trace her location. She asks her assistant, Solongo (played by Bayra Bela), to exchange roles and experience the day being her. Solongo talks about her brother, who is in prison despite not being a criminal since he canโ€™t pay them. Thatโ€™s why she is trying to earn money from her job.

Allie helps Savannah break a lock to get hold of her phone. Sister Veronica (played by Emily Kuroda) has locked it inside a room to not let her call her young daughter, Riley. Subsequently, Allie shows her how to use the power to get inside. Savannah speaks with her daughter with a bruised hand. Later, while Allie tries to show EODโ€™s use to a new joiner among other girls, Sister Veronica interrupts her. Since Allie refuses to budge by the Bibleโ€™s rules, the sister pledges to uncover Allie’s real identity from before which she has kept as a secret. Remembering the trauma, she breaks down in tears. The Voice stays with her as a constant support.

Roxy now leaves at Bernieโ€™s (played by Eddie Marsan) house despite her stepmotherโ€™s resentment toward her. Roxy learns that she is getting a fine share of Bernieโ€™s wealth according to his will. While it upsets Ricky (played by Jacob Fortune-Lloyd), Bernie still decides to go ahead with making Roxy a part of his empire. Later, she is sent to take care of a transaction to see if she is up for the responsibility of being the successor.

While meeting this supplier named Primrose (played by Phil Daniels), Roxy notices a man, an enemy of Bernieโ€™s, walking toward the swimming pool with a woman. She threatens to pay him back. The woman walks up to her, and Roxy electrocutes her. Then she moves her finger over the water to give this man a final warning. Obviously, she looks much more confident in using her powers.

Jos has traumatic flashbacks from the Urbandox followerโ€™s fire incident. To help herself deal with it, she watches Roxyโ€™s online training videos that are aimed to empowered teens like her. Thatโ€™s when she notices Ryan (played by Nico Hiraga) calling her name from the outside. She notices him between a heart-shaped light display as a romantic gesture that he created with EOD.

Jos is delighted to see Ryan accept his power and goes out to hug him. He says that he is in the fight against injustice with her. Meanwhile, Josโ€™s Urbandox-influenced brother, Matty (played by Gerrison Machado), shoots a video of this scene. Ryan possessing this power perplexes him.

The Power (Season 1) Episode 7 Ending, Explained:

Tunde gets to have a word with Zoia. He wants to tell her a story and wants to talk about the end of sexual slavery. She calls out how men like him did not join the fight against patriarchy when they did not have the power. He says he risked his life by putting himself in a revolt before. He tries to convey that he is dedicated to the cause.

Zoia understands that this is going to make him famous. In fact, she wants him to pay her back by risking his life, going to sister Tatianaโ€™s lavish place to see if she cares. Moreover, Zoia wants him to share a message with Tatiana in exchange for giving an interview. She calls out the savior complex of the first-world countries who wanted to assure themselves about how safe they are by listening to tragic stories.

Meanwhile, Allie learns to use her power in the water. At night, none of them can find Savannah and start looking around. Savannah tries to cut her skein out and jump off the balcony. Allie finds her and saves her from committing suicide. The girls then gather around a fire and share the stories from the past. They speak about the abuse they faced and how men silenced them. Subsequently, The Voice tells Allie to make these girls and women believe in her. She asks them to stay afloat on their backs in the water. Then, she performs a baptism-like act. By harnessing their power, they all feel closer to each other.
