How to Watch She Said?: While the #MeToo movement had its roots in 2006, it wasn’t until 2017 that it finally became a movement that brought something truly disturbing to the mainstream media’s attention. For years, sexual assault allegations in the movie business, or any other work for that matter had been swept under the rug by powerful men. But if it wasn’t for Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey – two investigative journalists of the New York Times, who, in their story about Harvey Winestein, bared it all, we would be living in a very different world right now.

Starring Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan as the two journalists, She Said is a screen adaptation of their own best-selling memoir of the same name. The movie leads up to the women’s fight for justice through years of research, interviews, and talking to victims who did not want to come out with their stories about what really goes behind closed doors in Hollywood. From what we can make out, She Said, directed by Maria Schrader (Love Life, Unorthodox) looks at how these women struggled to really bring to light the predatory behavior that Weinstein has exhibited through the years.

Currently, at an 82% Approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the website’s consensus states, “Although She Said struggles to add cinematic flair to its fact-based story, it remains a worthy, well-acted tribute to journalistic integrity.”
