10 Days of a Bad Man (2023) Plot Summary & Movie Synopsis:
What is ’10 Days of a Bad Man’ about?
’10 Days of a Bad Man’ takes forward the story of Sadik (Nejat Isler) from Netflix’s 10 Days of a Good Man. Previously, this lawyer-turned-private investigator worked on a case that led him to uncover a twisted operation. Meanwhile, Sadik also managed to get over his ex-wife while deceiving her and her new partner. At the beginning of the sequel, we see Sadik in a terrible accident that totals his car. After this vague introduction to his present situation, we see him meet a ruthless criminal called Sir. It turns out Sadik cost Sir a good fortune. So, he now seeks Sadik’s help for a mission – to find Ferhat, the son of a congressman. He gets Zeynel (Riza Kocaoglu) and Hüso (Kadir Cermik) to keep a watch on Sadik.
Sadik insists everyone call him Adil. This is his way of being a new person – to shed his old skin, get over the trauma and start his life afresh. His recent marriage with Seval (Ilayda Alisan) ended on a tragic note. She and their unborn baby died in a car accident, and Adil could not get over this loss. Besides, he is addicted to pills as a coping mechanism. The next day, he meets Pinar (Ilayda Akdogan), who is just a few months away from her graduation. He seeks her help to find Ferhat. So, she uses social media to find details about this man.
Meanwhile, Pinar’s mother – Maide, asks Adil to work on another case. He meets Buket (Hazal Filiz Küçükköse), who shares details about the fatal attack on her uncle Hasmet and his wife, Jale. While the police investigate the case, she expects Adil to verify their findings for her mother’s peace of mind – who does not think that the case is solved. Buket talks about the Moldovian couple that worked for her uncle. Ianna and Ranat are considered culprits.
Later, she brings him to meet her mother. She tells him about her suspicion about Jale being behind the attack, who accused Ianna and Ranat to divert the blame. Then, she asks him to locate this couple to learn the truth. He also learns that Buket is her adopted daughter.
Adil speaks with Kenan, who supposedly had an affair with Ianna. He says that Ianna and her husband were set up to take the fall by Jale. He tells Adil about Timurlenk, who takes care of dogs at Hasmet’s mansion. Adil simultaneously works on both cases. He visits a club with Pinar and her friend. That’s where he learns that someone else is also looking for Ferhat. On the other hand, he learns details about Hasmet’s family. While his son benefits from the family name, his daughter – Gül, is a bright businesswoman. She and Buket are extraordinary women who are often called – Scarlet Twins.
Later at night, Sir walks into their residence, brutally attacks Zeynel, and gets his men to molest Pinar’s friend. Pinar gets her seductive photos taken to lure Ferhat into meeting them. Once they come face-to-face with this man, they learn that Sir sent texts to Ferhat, posing as Sadik/Adil. Adil realizes that Sir tried to get him to be caught for a crime instead of him. For some reason, Pinar keeps trying to woo Adil into dating her. So, he finally shares what happened to her brother, Tevfik. It breaks her heart to realize that her brother is dead because of Adil / Sadik.
To untangle the mess of the present case, Adil decides to use his past connections. He uses the torture videos of twisted twins as leverage to get their father to agree to help him go against Sir. He poses it as an opportunity to take revenge. Meanwhile, Ianna and Ranat’s bodies are found on a mountain path to Bulgaria. The police found them frozen to death. Because of this, Buket asks him to consider that his investigation is finished. But he refuses to bow down and plans to investigate further. He soon learns about Sükran Cevizli, who was friends with Buket and Gülhen back in school. She suspected these two had pushed her down the stairs. There was a rumor that Buket and Gülhen were lovers.
10 Days of a Bad Man (2023) ‘Netflix’ Movie Ending Explained:
Buket and Gülhen’s Truth
Adil meets Buket and Gülhen to share his elaborate theory about their connection to the attack on Hasmet. He also believes that the couple is connected to the deaths of Doctor Cetin, Ianna, and Ranat. Then, Gülhen talks about what actually happened. She shares how disturbed Hasmet was after realizing the truth about Gülhen’s birth. After her explanation about their past, Adil assumes Gülhen is the killer – only to realize a twisted truth about them. The couple got Gülhen’s egg inside Buket’s twin sister’s womb. So now, their family’s legacy can go to women who deserve it instead of a man-child heir.
In the end, Zeynel and Hüso lie to Sir to save Sadik/Adil. They trust him more with their lives. Sir had planned to get Adil killed. Zeynel gets out of their car to settle an old score. Then they go to Sir’s headquarters to shoot all his men down. After finishing an entire bottle of painkiller pills, Adil enters Sir’s room. He shoots Sir to death and then succumbs to a miserable state of drug-induced brief coma. We see a dramatized version of how Adil’s much younger ex-wife was killed in a road accident. After waking up from that reverie, he opens his eyes to find another much younger woman sitting next to him.
After dissuading Pinar’s advances for a while, Adil finally accepts to be with her as a lover. The man now says that he is neither Adil nor Sedik. He kisses a woman who is almost half his age, and we are not supposed to find that creepy. So, despite its fine balance between mystery and comedy, you cannot help but find the toxic male gaze throughout the film. The ending of Netflix’s 10 Days of a Bad Man shows Adil/Sadik starting his new life with Pinar. Sadik gets Zeynel, Hüso, and Pinar to split their funds. Pinar plans to help Sadik start the hotel business that he planned with his ex-wife before her tragic accident.
