Hello People,
We are happy to announce that after watching, collectively, more than 300 different films of 2016 from across the globe, we are finally ready with the list of winners at the 2nd High on Films Awards. Let us tell you how we went about choosing these winners. Unlike last year, this time the HOF Award was entirely chosen by select critics and film buffs. A team of 10 HOF Editors listed their nominees for each category and going by the majority, we finally came up with a list of nominations for every category. The second and final step was voting for which we contacted select movie aficionado and film critics as our jury. The following winners are not chosen by popular choice voting standards but are precisely chosen by people who truly understand cinema.

The VVitch
Moonlight received 38 percent of the total votes. Paterson was the 2nd best with 21 percent votes.
2. Best Actor in a Leading Role
Adam Driver for Paterson
Casey Affleck for Manchester by the Sea
Shahab Hosseini for The Salesman
Jake Gyllenhaal for Nocturnal Animals
Viggo Mortensen for Captain Fantastic
Casey Affleck received a whopping 62 percent of the total votes.
3. Best Actress in a Leading Role
Amy Adams for Arrival
Emma Stone for La La Land
Isabelle Huppert for Elle
Jessica Chastain for Miss Sloane
Sandra Hüller for Toni Erdmann
Sonia Braga for Aquarius
Isabelle Huppert received 41 percent of the total votes, Amy Adams came real close with 38 percent.
4. Best Actor in a Supporting Role
Ben Foster for Hell or High Water
Daniel Radcliffe for Swiss Army Man
Jeff Bridges for Hell or High Water
Mahershala Ali for Moonlight
Michael Shannon for Nocturnal Animals
Mahershala Ali received 55 percent of the total votes.
5. Best Actress in a Supporting Role
Jena Malone for The Neon Demon
Kirin Kiki for After the Storm
Michelle Williams for Manchester by the Sea
Naomie Harris for Moonlight
Viola Davis for Fences
Viola Davis received 41 percent of the total votes and no one was even close.
6. Best Director
Damien Chazelle for La La Land
Denis Villeneuve for Arrival
Kenneth Lonergan for Manchester by the Sea
Park Chan-wook for The Handmaiden
Tom Ford for Nocturnal Animals
Park Chan-Wook won by receiving 38 percent of the total votes, Damien Chazelle came 2nd with 31 percent of votes.

The Red Turtle
Your Name
Zootopia
The Red Turtle received 35 percent of the total votes, the 2nd best was Kubo and the Two Strings and Zootopia with 21 percent of votes each.

Nocturnal Animals
The Salesman
Kenneth Lonergan for Manchester by the Sea received 35 percent of the total votes, Asghar Farhadi for The Salesman was at the 2nd place with 18 percent of votes.
9. Best Foreign Film

The Wailing
Toni Erdmann
The Handmaiden received 35 percent of the total votes. Kaili Blues was at the 2nd spot with 21 percent votes.
