The trailer for Nitesh Tiwari’s (Dangal Fame) new film Chhicchore is out. Co-star Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor, and others shared the trailer on Friendship’s day. Going by the looks of the trailer, it is going to get viral soon. There’s enough youthful energy and nostalgia that the trailer offers and it’s probably enough to get things going these days.

The trailer of Chhichhore is peppered with the same old masala that worked in films like 3 Idiots. It has the college vibe, the senior-junior tassel and of course the good-old underdog story. Also starring Varun Sharma and Prateik Babbar, the story is about a group of college friends who are reunited. When in college, Sushant plays Anni – A simple guy who can’t muster the courage to talk his crush. Shraddha plays Maya – The supposed eye candy of the entire campus.

The film also seems to boost an interesting side cast which featured the street smart Sex played by Varun and the innocent, punching bag Mummy played by Tushar Pandey. The entire gag includes nicknamed galore like Acid, Bevda, and Raggie. The film seems to pull the audience through nostalgic connections as the film is told when they reunited with bad done old-people makeups.

Moreover, the burden of trying to be this decade’s Dil Chahta Hai or 3 Idiots is bringing it down. So much so that it’s dramatic punches sound more Student Of the Year-esque than the prior. Dangal was Nitesh’s debut film and worked because it’s formulaic script was boosted by terrific performances and nuanced character expositions. If Chhicchore becomes anything like the trailer promises then we have a problem.

Chhicchore release date has been set for September 6th, 2019. It will be released by Fox Star Hindi.
